Forum-Index → Roleplay → Pokémon RP → Sycamore's Summer Camp! [Semi-Lit RP]“Honey, come downstairs please! There’s a letter for you!” your mother calls.
You walk out of your bedroom and downstairs to the living room where your mother sits leisurely on the sofa. She hands you a decorative envelope with your name and address written on it in cursive handwriting and black ink. You turn the envelope over, lift a small emblem that held the envelope shut, and slide out a folded letter.
Please remember that this is a Semi-Literate Roleplay, so please try avoiding anything less than 4 sentences per post and if you tend to post anything with less than 4 sentences, you may be kicked out of the roleplay!
Luke: "Okay so Lucky, where should we start looking for a new friend? I'm kinda partial to the lake, cuz you know I like water pokemon! I wonder what we could find there?"
Lucky: "Hmm some rare pokemon can be found there, maybe, though I'm not kindly to the idea of new people....."
A young trainer sat beside the lake of Sycamore's Summer Camp, watching the sunlight beam across the endlessly moving waves ahead of her. Within her hands she juggled two Pokeballs, quite well as this was what she had done ever since she had obtained them. When the girl--her name was Adeline--was bored, she would juggle the Pokeballs, but not, after three years, the skill came naturally and she could do it without focusing on the task. I miss Unova, Adeline thought with an ache in her heart. Why did Dad insist that we move to Kanto? Are Fairy Pokemon and Mega Evolution that important?
She released a sigh as she answered herself. Yes, they are. Adeline felt four soft little taps go across her crossed legs, and looked down to see her fuzzy Pachirisu running joyously across the fields. Her Houndour, Shade, chased the Pachirisu with anger in his eyes. "Rivka, what did you do to Shade?" Adeline muttered, taking the Houndour in her arms.
The stubborn Pokemon growled, as if demanding release. Adeline let Shade go, and he sat by her side with a stern look. The Pachirisu squealed, and pawed the Pokeball Adeline was juggling out of the air. Adeline sighed. "Riv, you two never actually use your Pokeballs, so it doesn't matter if I juggled them," Adeline explained for what must of been the thousandth time.
Hearing sound at the serene place, Adeline looked over her shoulder to see a boy--his name was Luke, if she remembered well--and a Riolu. "Hello, there," Adeline called out a bit softly.
"W-we're here..." she told her Fennekin and placed her down gently on the ground in front of her. Shay then took a Pokeball from the belt loop on her skirt and pointed it at the ground. "Seviper, let's go!" she commanded as Fang Snake Pokemon emitted from the capsule.
"Seviper!" it cried as it was released. Shay knelt down and smiled at her two Pokemon.
"Let's make the most of this Summer Camp and let's win this tournament!" Shay told the two Pokemon before her as they cried out in agreement.
Starting towards the center of the Camp, she looked around. It was rather open and almost, park-like. It reminded her of her childhood playground she used to spend her time at. There was never much there but it always brought her good memories. That's where I got Jasper at from Mr. Jones.
A smirk pulled her lips and the girl leaned down to scratch her fingers over a pointed ear. "I'd rather just go on my own adventure. Not play silly games at camp." The welcome sign could just be seen up ahead and the red head paused before crouching down to set her back pack on the ground. After a bit of searching she pulled a beaten down pack of cigarettes and plucked one from it. The butt was placed between her lips and she leaned over. Lucky blew a soft puff of fire, letting his master light the stick.
Fox pulled in a long drag of the deadly smoke and let it out in a slow billow. "Thanks Luck."
"We're just gonna look for another partner for the tournament, Fennekin," she replied, feeling impatience overcome her. They had ventured in pretty far, so the fox was getting a little worried. She jumped onto her shoulder and tugged on her sleeve. "Fennekin, don't worry! We'll be fine," she reassured her and smiled. The Pokemon sighed and hopped down. They continued passing through the scenery in hopes of finding a wild Pokemon.
Blake stepped into the camp with Chespin on his shoulder. He tossed his head to the side to clear the messy bangs out of his face and turned his attention towards his partner. "You ready, Chespin?"
"Ches!" He cheered. A Pidgey just overhead landed, perching itself on Blake's other shoulder. Chespin leaped off, and looked up at his trainer from the ground. "You both ready to win, guys?" Both Pokemon concurred, Chespin jumping up and down energetically, and Pidgey giving several excited responses. "Great. Let's do our best."
She looked around and saw that some of the trainers have already arrived.
"Wow..." she whispered to herself. As Shay walked further into the campgrounds, a voice began projecting itself through multiple speakers sprawled throughout the property.
'Good morning, campers! Please make your way to the Dining Hall with your Pokemon released from their Pokeballs while we wait for the rest of the campers to arrive. Professor Sycamore will be holding a mandatory briefing for those who wish to participate in the Double Battle Tournament that will take place in less than four hours! Chao~'
Shay took Fennekin's & Seviper's Pokeball off her belt loop and threw them up in the air.
"Guess I didn't need to return you two, come on out!" she shouted as the two capsules opened and released the Pokemon inside.
"Fenne- kin!" "Se- viper!" they chorused and with Shay began walking to the dining hall.
Shade was already far ahead of them. "Well, if that's how you want to play it..." Adeline said to her Houndour and broke out into a swift jog, zooming past the Pokemon. It seemed to smirk and ran at her pace, although Adeline quickly bolted ahead of it by an inch. Rivka squealed frantically, running at her best to unsuccessfully keep up.
"Fennekin..." Amara sighed, walking around the fox and making sure it followed. "We're just here to find another Pokemon. Then we'll go! Just be patient," she said and went on. After a short while in Pokemon-searching, a tall patch of grass rustled just nearby. Curiously, the trainer approached it, and out popped a gray and brown rabbit. "A Bunnelby!"
"Go, Fennekin. Use Scratch!" She commanded her partner, who lashed out at the wild Pokemon with a glowing paw. It landed the attack clearly, but then the Bunnelby used Mud Slap, sending Fennekin staggering backwards. "You okay, Fennekin?" It turned and nodded. "Good. Use Tail Whip, then Ember!"
It first used its tail to whip the Bunnelby, then took a small jump backwards and fired a spark of flames at it. Its aiming was off a little, but it still landed a hit, followed by Amara throwing a Pokeball. Then a small glow appeared around the ball, showing it was caught. She gratefully picked it up and looked at Fennekin as it hopped onto her shoulder. "Great job, Fennekin! Let's go back."
Blake looked to his two Pokemon bursting with energy in front of him. He chuckled and picked up his partner Chespin, then let Pidgey perch on his head. "Alright, here we go. You excited?" They both gave annoyed responses and could barely keep still. Then with the bird upon his head and his starter on his shoulder, he headed for the dining hall, feeling his Pokemon practically die with excitement.
Gloved fingers curled around the PokeBall acting as the pendant to her necklace. "Not a problem for you Lucky, you hate this thing." She pulled a second ball from her belt and pressed the white button to release her second companion. Hawkins touched the ground with small paws and lifted his nose up in disgust. Dirt? She summoned him on dirt? Hawkin's snuffed loudly and Fox held out her arm. "Come on, hop up before your claws get dirty," she teased with a roll of her eyes.
With Eevee on her shoulder and Growlithe hugged in her arms Fox entered the camp site and headed for the dining hall.
Looking to Jasper, she shushed him and he instantly stopped barking, but his tail continued to move back and forth. "C'mon boys, let's go see what is going on now." She smiled as she felt Gala nuzzle onto her shoulder, a small squeal erupted from the little ball of static fur.
Nimhe looked toward the Dinner Hall, watching other trainers walk its way. Unsure if she will be friendly or not, she guessed it would be best to stick to herself when she got there.
"Lucky heel!" But the growlithe kept going, barking excitedly at Jasper with his fluffy tail wagging back and forth in a blurr.
As her canine companion leaped back up onto his paws to once more play with Jasper Fox turned to face the other girl. "You don't know that yet. Who knows? You might wind up hating me," she answered with a smirk.
Hawkins shuddered against her neck. The evolution pokemon hated spiders of all kinds. However he glanced at Nihme and rolled his eyes and looked away. Already tired of her.
"O-Oh, uhm. O-okay," Nimhe's face brightened, she wasn't sure what to do now with this trainer. She had already snapped at her, and began to feel conscious. She looked down at her hands, now folded into her body. Jumping as she felt a small shock on the back of her neck, she placed her hand on Gala as he crawled onto her arm.
"I-I should be g-getting inside now I guess. Talk to you later, I-I guess," Nimhe stuttered as she talked, almost ashamed of even saying hello. Turning to Jasper, she nodded and started walking inside, he following close behind her.
As Shay approached the Dining Hall, she saw two trainers talking to one another and walked passed quietly.
She walked in through two large doors and found herself a seat in the middle of the room.
She looked around nervously while playing with her fingers as her Fennekin hopped onto the table and wagged its tail while releasing a quiet "Kin!" and smiled up at the Pokémon Trainer. Her Seviper nudged her arm and smiled at her as well in an response to her emotions. "Thanks, you two." she told them quietly.
She turned around tried to see the other Trainer's Pokémon but diverted her eyes back near the entrance of the Dining Hall where she spotted the two trainers from a bit before. "Let's see, both of them have a Growlithe ... so it would probably be evenly matched ... but one has an Eevee and one has a Joltik... If we were to be matched up with the Trainer with the Joltik, we may be able to defeat her a bit more easier than the one with an Eevee..." she thought aloud quietly, her Pokémon nodding in agreement beside her.
"Vwwee." He yawned again, his tail shifting in boredom.
"Yeah, you need a warm up. You too Lucky."
