"Hello young fox. What is that? You want a story? Well,I'll try to satisfy you. Now let me see..."

"Long ago, many foxes lived in a mountain range called the White Springs. The mountain range was named after the natural springs located in the range. The foxes stayed away from each other, for the most part, and there was little strife. Prey was bountiful and water was, of course, in no shortage.

"One day, the foxes heard a mournful howl. This was not an uncommon happening, but somehow this howl was different. It was eerie and caused even the bravest fox to shudder. More howls joined in, forming an ominous song that rang throughout the mountains. Huge grey clouds filled the sky and a cold wind blew. A feeling of being watched and a desire to hide overcame every fox in the mountains. Mothers held their kits close and those who were outside of their dens ran for safety, not caring if they left prey behind. Suddenly, huge black wolves with red eyes that glowed faintly leaped into the dens, killing every fox they saw. Few foxes survived the attack. The attacks continued and the White Springs fox population dwindled. The mountains were eventually renamed the Black Springs because of the wolves. The few foxes that survived decided to do something very uncommon - they formed a pack. The pack of fox were able to defend themselves against the wolf attacks and they learned many useful tricks.

Ranks

Leader
Self-explanatory. Leads the pack.

Sari

(pronounced saw-ree) Second-in-command. Takes over when leader dies. Often forget lead hunter or lead warrior.


Healer

Is capable of healing other foxes and has a strong spiritual connection with dead foxes. It takes special skill to be a healer.


Healer-in-Training

Is trained by the two healers to take one of their places one day. They begin training at 8 moon-cycles (8 months) and stop training when one healer dies.
Lead Hunter

In charge of all hunters. The sari elects a new lead hunter when the current one is killed or retires. Not necessarily the most skilled hunter.
Hunter

Hunters collect the pack's food. They usually hunt in groups of 3-5, but can be found in larger or smaller numbers. They have basic warrior training. Only hunters are eligible to become lead hunter.

Hunter-in-Training

Is trained by the hunters to become one. They begin training at 6 moon-cycles (6 months) and stop training at 15 moon-cycles (15 months), or when most of the hunters see fit.
Lead Warrior

In charge of all warriors. The sari elects a new lead warrior when the current one is killed or retires. Not necessarily the most skilled warrior.

Warrior

Protects the pack. They are often ordered by the lead warrior to guard the pack's territory. They have basic hunter training. Only warriors are eligible to become the lead warrior.
Warrior-in-Training

Is trained by the warriors to become one. They begin training at 6 moon-cycles (6 months) and stop training at 15 moon-cycles (15 months), or when most of the warriors see fit.

Kit
Fox kit. There can be any number of kits.

Lone Fox
A fox that is not in the Black Springs pack. There can be any number of lone foxes

Shadow was padding around outside, wondering why those people attacked. He found that people have been waking up due to nightmares and not getting enough sleep.

(I love hate disagree with the fact that I'm the only male in current presence...)

Hearing Aurora, and since she couldn't sleep Frost emerged from her den. "What's going on?" she yawned.

(Also, since I'm the healer should I use the same herbs from the Warriors series, since I know most of them and their uses?)
