I am trying to breed dark ponytas, so I have a cursed rapidash and a dark ponyta in my daycare right now. But for some reason im getting normal ponytas instead of dark.
Does anyone know why this is the case?

That is absolutely normal. When breeding Event Pokemon, most eggs will be the non-event Pokemon (in your case Ponyta). Only a few eggs will actually be Event eggs. You can check them with the Wide Lens before adopting them
