It had been decided for everyone's safety.
Until one reached adulthood, traveling beyond the walls of their city was prohibited.
Although, there existed a few exceptions to this rule.
The first being that one may travel, as long as they are accompanied by an adult.
Secondly, if they were born into an outside settlement, it is up to their chief to keep them safe.
Finally, if they had received a vision, they may travel beyond the walls, regardless of their age.
However, their skills must have first been proven by the Adventurers’ Guild, which is done through a series of tests.
You just happen to be a newly proven vision wielder, having recently completed your trials with the guild.
It was a bright day when all vision-wielders in your nation were invited over to the guild for a special commission.
There, everyone was presented with a look at the new Adventurers' Handbook.
The Guild announced that they were looking for four people, willing to travel as a team to update the nation's information.
Although with multiple people interested, the four would be later chosen by pulling names from a hat.

If there's enough interest, and we're not too cluttered, I may open a third team after the Inazuma arc
RP is set in the current timeline, except there is no Traveller.
Dragonspine is considered Mondstadt, and the Chasm is closed until everyone has returned from Inazuma.
