It's the future, and it's a lot like the stories had foretold it to be.
Machines everywhere. Floating islands.
The geniuses of what was once known as Earth are known as the Clockwork Union. They reside in the highest island, where mere mortals cannot reach. They had spent decades on making Earth a better place, and ended up founding Gearborne; a seemingly unlimited amount of floating islands that stretch as far as the eye can see.
Each Island belongs to a group, or a 'constellation' of Islands. The Constellations are all named after a constellation (The ones made out of stars), but that's irrelevant in this story.
All of the Islands have something they're famous for. But they all have one thing in common...
They're all made out of machinery.
But when one of the major Islands plummets due to a local riot against the machinery world, the machinery starts going corrupt. Some whisper that a member from the Clockwork Union is trying to destroy the Islands. Others whisper that it's some higher being getting rid of Gearborne as it is too 'advanced'.
And that's where you come in. You see, there are special people on each Island. Labelled as 'Half-Geniuses'. You manage the island you live on in secret, as the population would get jealous of your status.
You, my dear Half-Genius, must find whoever...or whatever is turning these machines corrupt.

Steelgate - known for the production
of many ores.
Charport - known as the 'Floating Ship' Island.
Gearwatch - Gearborne's most famous island. It's known for being the first island ever created.
Dragbourne [TAKEN] - Known best for it's exotic animals. It's basically a big market.
Snowburn [TAKEN] - Famous for it's snow. Snow is a rare sight in Gearborne.
Dreadhaven [TAKEN] - ...where do you think all the dead bodies go? It's a ghost town, not many people live on it.
Glockhaven [TAKEN] - Weapons. And extreme violence.
Aetherhaven - was known for being the best vacation spot, but has unfortunately fallen.
Tempsessai - Island of Justice, basically. Holds trials.
Starfellae [TAKEN] - Most known because it's the island of magic. Filled with magic users, apprentices, teachers, etc.
Centthen - Economy.
Wildden [TAKEN] - Basically a huge greenhouse. Exports crops and food to other islands, and is a worker island.
Brewhagen [TAKEN] - Potions, magic items. It's a smaller Island next to Starfellae, and basically provides spell books, magic artifacts, potions, etc. to Starfellae
Aethermade - A worker island. It's a small island that was next to the fallen Aetherhaven. It's basically a big factory responsible for production.
ClockworkHaven - Home of the Clockwork Union. Is the highest island in the sky, and has a protective shield made by the best magic users.
New Cassiopeia [TAKEN] - Basically the New York of Gearborne. (Made by Apathy)
Delphinus Astrologus [TAKEN] - Love island. We'll definitely be visiting this one/j (Made by Apathy)
Felonia [TAKEN] - Cat island. (Made by AmberTheAxolotl223)
Utopia Déchu [TAKEN] - What used to be a dream-like Utopia where it used to be known as the happiest island of all time, is now a abandoned amusement park where a ghost is rumored haunt. (Made by AprilxSkye)
You can make your own, just make sure it has a steampunk name. Also, first come first server, one person per island!

Appearance: Theo stands at a short 5 foot 2it's short for the
people that live on Gearborne and his hair is a messy
golden-blonde fade to light blue. On top of his head are two
fluffy, white cat ears, and he has a tail of the same fluffiness
and color. His outfit usually consists of an oddly fitting mix of
casual, grunge and steampunk. Black fingerless gloves, a brown
button jacket, white sleeves, a dark brown belt and black boots.
Sometimes wears a steampunk cat mask. And goggles that are usually
resting atop his head. His eyes are a dull pink color, a trait of
being an Albino Cat-Human.
Personality: To say Theo loves his work is an understatement. He's fascinated by any and all things related to machines or technology, and loves to manage 'his' island. He works well with any technology and works efficiently, one of the best Half-Geniuses. If you give him something to do, he'll try his best to finish it, and will usually neglect sleep or the need for food because of his hyperfocus. How he acts is really based on how comfortable he is around the people around him. It is rare to see his playful side.
Then there's the times where his Cat instincts kick in. At these moments he can be playful and curious, and will usually get easily distracted by a piece of yarn.

A tall, handsome man, standing at a respectable 6'0. he has long, messy, fluffy silver hair, ice-blue eyes and his mouth is usually set in a confident(almost arrogant) smirk. A conductor's cap is set upon his messy hair, and he wears a loose whit shirt under a black conductor's jacket, not too different from Ingo's coat. A knife is sheathed at his side and a shotgun is slung over his back. A revolver is stuck in his belt, along with a hand grenade and a pistol. Several rounds of bullets are also in a pocket on his belt.
Personality:
A sarcastic, rude fellow who loves messing with people and just being a general nuisance. He loves cats and dogs, and they're the only thing he won't constantly annoy. He's a fan of novels and literature.

Species: AI augmented into a dead humans body by a grieving genius whose daughter had died frankenstein sryle. Every inch a normal human, except for the back of their head and their brain, where the electronic parts are stored.

Appearance: Girl with tan skin and auburn hair, most commonly wearing her little set of steampunk goggles, alongside her black jeans and brown jacket. The oddest thing about her is her feline features. Especially the ears, she has cat ears. She is a cat-girl. But with no tail.
Personality: Excited often and friendly, Amber is a good friend to have. Except if you piss her off, then she can be quite the mad kitty.
Species: Human with a little cat sprinkled in
Island: Felonia (Basically just lots of cats, mice and plants, nothing else. I really want Felonia 🥺) Felonia is an island made of machines, of course, but there was a laying of rocks and dirt for plants to grow, and eventually cats were transported there. And mice because mice are forking e v e r y w h e r e. Two rocky mountain-like structures sprout like cat ears from the island. Any type of animal from the Panthera or cat Genuses are welcome on the island.
