the world suffered through its war, but now everyone is at peace.
a small coffee shop resides in the busy city of seattle, washington.
it may be small and unpopular, but its cozy and a good place to hangout.

Theo smiled at the door from his place behind the counter, watching the streets slowly become alive and busy. He knew today wouldn't be a busy day for him, as most of the days haven't, but he didn't care. He prepped the ingredients he put in his caffeinated (and non-caffeinated) drinks. Milk, ginger, lemon...Hm. I might need to restock soon. Honestly, he was just trying to busy himself. He hated being bored, which was one of the reasons why he opened the coffee shop. Coffee, honey, cinnamon...

The door slammed open suddenly, as a tall, energetic guy burst in.

His name? Kendo Sato, a student in his senior year of college. Half-Korean, Half American, but has lived in Seattle his whole life. His scarlet eyes gleamed with energy, as he made his way over to theo.

Theo winced at the sound. Always the first to enter, but does it have to be so loud? He grinned, went back to recounting his stock for a few seconds and turned to face Kendo. "Come on, I just fixed the door..." He whined jokingly, grinning and motioning to one of the few seats that face the counter. "How have you been?"

Theo listened, and then huffed. "Number one-" He said, then pointed towards himself. "Not short. You are just... unusually tall." He said, then continued. "And number two, your favorite?" He then gestured towards a board with some coffee names written down. The plain old boring espresso? "Cuz you can't just barge in here, nearly break the door and not order something, y'know."

"Talk to me about it. I'm also struggling to earn money, despite being one of the only employees who works here and manages the place. No idea how this place hasn't been closed down due to bankruptcy." He said, huffing as the coffee machine made a weird noise that was definitely not normal. "Yes, but all the nekos usually order is just plain milk. It doesn't cost alot." Just ignore him. He said, trying to fiddle with the coffee machine. He was usually pretty good with tech, and to nobody's surprise the machine started spurting out coffee, fixed. He chuckled to himself. Still got the tech skills.

Kaori almost trips at the door. She looks around, hoping that nobody noticed. ‘What a great way to start another day of work’ she thought grumpily. She then goes behind the bar, to await the delivery of the fragrant and aromatic coffee.

This is Kaori Kim, your average and sweet 10th grader, as a NEKO- a unique type of human and cat hybrid. She is a mix of a Korean Bobtail cat, and a dead... sorry, former Korean pet shop owner.

Her dark purple usually sparkled, but right now? Nope. A grumpy Neko equals a non eye-sparkling cat. Obviously almost tripping isn’t the greatest way to start your day.
