It was a blustery day, that first day of term. The cool breeze brought the whisper of Autumn to the morning, as the sun shone a bleary light through the clouds. Time passed slowly; each person meandering down the streets in a haze.

By contrast, it was a bright day on the grounds of Central High School. The students were streaming in through the doors, gathering for their first classes. Friends greeted friends, and compared schedules for the upcoming year.

Cath slowly walked through the halls, looking for someone she knew.

"Hello!" She said, spotting Theo amidst the crowd. She fought her way over to where he was standing across the hall. "How was your summer?"

Theo had walked through the doors, expecting a not great start to the year. Unfortunately, the day had just begun for him. He had to fight to maneuver the crowd, and with him being smaller than mostly everyone he was pushed off to the side. As expected.

He had tried to find a place to stand away from other people, and eventually found a spot that hadn't been taken.

Theo let his mind wander until a voice snapped him out of his thoughts.

He took careful consideration of the question. He could speak the long version and ramble, but that usually got him in trouble. So he answered with a short and not-so-sweet version.

"Sucky. As usual. How did yours go?"

Rhuna walked nervously among the many people in the school. This placed wreaked with humans, but whatever. She did agree to go take a trip into the mortal realm anyway. Her summer was hell. Literally. Hell.

She heard people talking. All around her, there was talking. No silence. It was quite stressful, so she covered her face by putting her backpack on her head. She was a demon, of course, unlike the many humans inside the school, so she had no idea on how people would treat her here.

"Not much better, honestly. Boring, I guess." She smiled, and opened her locker with a flick of her wrist. "My family decided to take a road trip and look at universities... a not-so-subtle reminder I have to maintain my fricking GPA. But what can you do?"

Cath glanced around the room, her eyes skimming the populace. Until they landed on someone unfamiliar.

"Who's she?" Cath wasn't sure if Theo would know the scarlet-skinned girl walking down the hall, but it was worth a question. She was... kind of ~~hot.~~

Rhuna continued to look a bit stressed with all the clamour around her, noticing a normally haired girl talking with a blue haired boy and now someone else. They definitely looked like they were watching her. She bet they were talking sh_t about her, but tried not to pry on that and got to her locker normally, opening it and looking through the stuff in her locker. She didn't know if she was the only demon in the school or not.
She was only 5'2 too, so thats another thing she could probably get made fun of. She didn't want to focus on the negative, though, but the positive. Maybe there were some people that actually liked her for who she was, being different. Those thoughts were nice, but she had to focus on her main task. Getting ready for school. She got a brush out of her locker and brushed her fluffy, short, white hair.

"Sounds like it sucked." Theo replied, leaning against a locker nearby.

The question caught him off guard though. "She..? She who? Theo scanned the crowd. "Honestly, you have to be more specific. There's a reason I have these, y'know." He said, readjusting his glasses. Honestly, this guy loses his pencil when it's in his hands, don't ask him to try to pick somebody out of a crowd.

Yep, this was definitely going to be an interesting year... Cath thought, trying and failing not to stare at the girl again. Get it together, stupid. Grades are what are important right now. She ignored Kendo's barb, mostly because she was afraid he was right.

She had never really been attracted to anybody before. Sure, she could look at a girl and acknowledge her hotness, but it wasn't like she was going to be asked out. Or ask anyone else out. She was waaayyyyy too insecure for that. It didn't matter how many times her friends had tried to set her up, she had always emerged with her heart and mind in one piece. Uncrushable Cath. Until... now?

"Scarlet skin? Short white hair? Our height?" How had Kendo and Theo not noticed her right away? She literally commanded attention.

Rhuna finished brushing her hair, her tail swaying back and fourth as usual, trying to look all happy for the first day of 12th grade. She put the brush away back in its proper place, closing the locker and slowly making her way up to the group nervously. "H-Hey guys... what are you up too? I'm just... uhh... nervous. I am Rhuna."

Theo grinned, definitely seeing what Kendo was getting at earlier.

He had to stand on his tippy toes to see over the mass of kids. "Yeah, I see her now." She seems...shy. it wouldn't be nice to stare. She's definitely getting alot of attention. Theo could honestly feel himself in that situation. I would hate all that attention.

"Don't ignore it Cath, we see the signs." Theo said. "..Hey, don't look at me for help, you think I can stop him?" He said, grinning again. "You're on your own."
