He made his way down the hall, repeating her words in his mind, down to the letter.

The Master Bedroom was upstairs.

A long mahogany staircase, decorated with blue flowers and roses, stood proudly in front of him.

Sounds of a harp could be heard from above him, accompanied by the shrill notes of a piano.

Alexander appeared at the bedroom. He reached for the handle- then a flicker appeared in his eyes.

The door didn't fully connect with the frame.

Cautiously, he placed the palm of his hand on it-

And it swung open in its entirety.

He stepped inside, glancing nervously about himself.

The woman was sitting on a chair.

At closer inspection, she didn't really look like a woman.

She looked possibly older than Alexander, maybe by a year, but she had a very child like face.

Her eyes were scanning the pages of a boom she read quickly.

Study! Yes, to dust my study."

She pointed to her left.

"Chop, chop. Don't waste your time.

The lady laughed again, and resumed her book.

The study was a large room, with a large mahogany desk, and a large library.

The walls were painted crimson, and a large chandelier hung from the ceiling.

On the desk, lay an open laptop, a pile of paper, and many pieces of paper, with writing covering it.

A late green, leatherback book lay next to the laptop.

A small photo sat next to a pile of pens.

Alexander slipped by, his eyes studying the vast, empty expanse. His hands ran over the surface, which was indeed rather dusty. Then his hand touched the bound book-

And he paused.

He listened intently to see if she was listening.

Evidently not hearing anything, he slipped it into his pocket, intending to read it later.

The book, was written by her.

You see, the lady had a fondness for romance novels, and decided to write one of her own.

The protagonist in the novel, a Miss Aiofe Sylventine, was based on herself.

The lady dreaned of having a prince sweep her off her feet, so she created her own knight in shining armour, to fall in love with the protagonist.

It was her little world, that book, in which she could pretend that she could do whatever she want, and actually have someone to love. It brought a year to her eye when she thought about how.lonely she actually was.
