Im trying to mega evolve my gengar and wiki said that it should happen at lvl 50 but once it got to lvl 50 nothing happened is there any steps i missed?

You need to give it a mega stone before it can mega evolve

They mean a mega stone as in a held item, if you look it up at the item market at GTS you can see a few up for sale
