"I refuse." she snarls. Aurora faces her attacker, her hands bound, and her eyes blindfolded. "I will not give you what you want." she says stubbornly. The grim faced man turns to the men behind him. "Kill her. And don't make it quick, I want it slow. That means no magic." he says in his low gravelly voice. Aurora feels her blood turn to ice. "If I die, I'm taking you all down with me. I'll show you Scamander loyalty. This is what you get for hurting my father, and threatening to hurt Suvansh!" she spins around, breaking the chair she had been tied to. She flicks out her wrist and a sharp knife appears in her hand. She slices through her bonds with an expert hand, and frees herself. Her broken wand lay useless upon the ground. She throws the knife at one of the men charging her, and pinned his coat to the wall. "Stupefy!" four voices echo around the room. Aurora ducks, just in time. She lunges towards one of the men, and grabs his wand. "Bombarda Maxima!" she screams, pointing the wand at the ceiling. An explosion. Aurora curses at the gravelly faced man from before stabs her in the arm. Aurora feels him wrench the wand from her hand and press it to her neck. She screams, as she can feel something branded into her skin. Cold, chilling rage sweeps through her. She kicks the man as hard as she can, and runs, the room collapsing behind her.
The excerpt above is from Aurora's backstory. Titled: "The branding of iron." As it is the story of how she got the tattoo on the back of her neck.

The acrid smell of smoke was close to overwhelming her. Holly coughed, trying to clear her throat with little success. "Clemensia, the door!" she screamed, trying to make herself heard over the chaos. The loud slam of the heavy brass doors told Holly that Clemensia had heard her. "We're all going to die!" the screaming from the youngest children made Holly's blood boil. "How dare they attack us like this?" Clemensia's voice snarls in Holly's ear. "We need to focus on putting out those fires!" she said with another cough. "I got it." Clemensia says, running off. Holly forces her eyes open. She could faintly make out the shapes of the children. "I can't believe they serious are going to try to burn this place down." she thinks. "Well I'm not letting them!" she decides, standing up. "Holly, are we going to fight them?" a small voice asks. Holly looks down, to see a younger girl. "Yes. We're going to fight and we're going to win!" she said, raising her voice. "Huzzah!" several voices said from behind, empowered by Holly's dedication.
