Fun CPR fact: A defibrillator will not bring someone back from asystole(heart stopped beating). Defibrillators are meant to try and fix an abnormal heart rhythm, usually V-tach(ventricular tachycardia) or V-fib(ventricular fibrillation). This is because when the heart stops beating, there are no electrical impulses in the heart.

Obligatory safety notice: Never use an AED on yourself. Always loudly say "clear" before you press the shock button and make sure nobody is touching the victim. Never use an AED on somebody submerged in water. Most importantly: if the scene is unsafe, do not endanger yourself to save another person. Use common sense and call your country's emergency number if there is danger to your life or another person's.

It's sad to see this thread so quiet, I love the premise of this forum game. ;-;

Anyways, I'll try to revive this with another fun fact: You can make your own dip pen inks and paints with plants in your backyard! Dry them out, grind them up into a powder with a mortar and pestle and slowly add water. You may need to add gum arabic to make it thicker and a little darker, and I've seen salt and vinegar used as preservatives. If you don't know what it is, don't touch it; not all plants are safe to touch. I plan on doing this when the leaves are in autumn colors again, they produce absolutely beautiful pigments.

Daddy Long Legs spiders are actually venomous enough to kill a human. However, their fangs are too small to bite humans. They’re only able to bite their prey. So, technically, Daddy Long Legs are one of the most venomous spiders in the US, but they just can’t affect humans due to their fangs being too small and weak to pierce our skin. Doesn’t stop them from trying, tho.

Young children are more prone to hypothermia(low body temperature), head injuries, hypoxia(lack of oxygen), airway blockages, and damage to the liver, spleen, and kidneys, and stress fractures because their bodies are not fully developed yet. They also have less fat than adults and burn more deeply and easily. Burns are a bigger deal in children because their body-surface-area to body-mass ratio makes them more prone to fluid and heat loss as a result.

Red pandas, despite looking like it, don't have paw pads! It is actually just fur covering the soles of their feet to help with heat up in the cold, and to grip onto slippy surfaces!

In linguistics, a false cognate refers to two words in different languages that sound similar and have the same/similar meanings, but have different origins. An example is the word "dog" in English and the word "dúg" in Mbabaram, an extinct Australian Aboriginal language.
