Hey everyone. Just curious on if anyone played any pokemon ROM Hacks. I've been trying to get into one, but don't know which one to start off with. Any recommendations? I've been looking mostly into Liquid Crystal and Glazed, but would like other options as well.

I do, but I've owned and played all the games already. I thought that it would be interesting to try something new. Sorry just wanted another person's opinion if there were anyone else that played it.

I usually play hacked versions like Glazed or Flora Sky than the actual games themselves. My personal favourites are Glazed, Flora Sky and Snakewood.

SirDolan already mentioned it, but Snakewood is also one of my favorites. It's so unique! There was another that I liked, but for the life of me I can't remember the name. I'm sure it'll come to me eventually xD

I have a few reccomendations if you're trying out new rom hacks.

If you haven't already, try Snakewood. It's based in Hoenn and it's a hack of either Ruby or Emerald. The starters aren't that great (Baltoy, Koffing, I can't remember the third), but the storyline makes up for it.

Pokémon Super Rising Thunder is also another amazing hack. You play as a Pichu, and the storyline for it is amazing. But just a little warning, it does get a little dark.

Pokémon Sienna is another good one. It's a hack of FireRed and it's based in a whole new region. They've also added in a few fanmade Pokémon to the game as well, including the starters.

Besides Glazed, Flora Sky and Light Platinum, those are the only ones I've really played.

These are some of the well known(?) roms I know about:

GBA/Colour: Pokémon Advanced Adventure, AshGrey, Brown, CrystalDust, Dark Energy, Dark Rising, DarkViolet, FireRed Omega, Light Platinum, Liquid Crystal, Resolute Version, Ruby Destiny - Life of Guardians, Ruby Destiny - Reign of Legends, Ruby Destiny - Rescue Rangers, Shining Opal, Shiny Gold, Shiny Gold X (a harder version), Sienna, Snakewood, and Victory Fire.

DS: Black Blaze, Black Blaze 2, Sacred Gold, Storm Silver, Volt White, Volt White 2. I just play GBA rom hacks at the moment as DS rom hacks lag on my laptop. xD

I recomend Pokemon snakewood if you like zombie apocalypse kinda stuff(You may find some pikachu corpses and human corpses but WHO CARES?)
If you like something enjoyable probably either pokemon dark rising(You start off with dragon starters) or pokemon Light Platinum(You can get all starters except Gen.6)
All 3 of them are great (Yes i have finished them all)

Pokemon Flora Sky is really good, but there are two kinds I've played that really rise above the rest.

One of them is a series with long games, the Ruby Destiny series. Definitely a well rounded series with some awesome storylines, though I warn you that they are a bit difficult, especially towards the end.

The second one is a short and incomplete, but very amazing game: Pokemon Identity. This game is the true meaning of a thriller, so unless you try to avoid the kind of stuff that'll hold every bit of your attention (such as if you're busy), I'd definitely recommend this game. The game might never be completed, but I think it's a worthwhile thing to experience.

These two games (or 4, actually), I feel, give you an experience like no other. It's great!
