The two men stopped outside long grins on their faces. "Miss Woodsy gonna go see? Miss Woodsy gonna go kill the maniac like she kills deer?" They mostly wanted a reaction out of her and the other part to be rude.

"No, Miss Woodsy gonna kill you unless you buzz off and stop dropping by." She didn't even turn to look at them, but she didn't need to turn away to dismiss them. Her voice remained neutral, her face incredibly bored. She grabbed her knife, covered in residue from the deer, and started to make a few cuts in the meat, separating different slabs.

The truth was that Olya's family had also been training her in the arts of healing ever since she was 14, but she didn't want her family's name buying her a job. If possible, Olya wanted to keep her surname a secret.

Ephina nodded. "I suppose that's good enough for now. But I'd like to know which herbs you now, and which ones I should teach you." The woman had a sad, tired look about her, but she straightened up and gestured to the shelves she was standing in front of, stepping to the side.

Olya joined Ephina by her side and pointed out a handful of herbs and offered their names and uses. She only named those which she was 100% certain about and strayed away from the more rarer and less popular ones of which she never had heard of. When it came down to it, she new her basics but little more than that.

Ephina managed a small smile. "Good, good. You're the only person who's responded to my requests, so I am rather relieved that I managed to hire someone." She moved to a back room, bending down to collect glass jars from a wooden box. "I'm considered a bit of an, how do you say it, eccentric amoung the townspeople."

Olya followed Ephina and stood inside the doorway and hopefully out of the way. (She was quite small so you could have easily squeezed past her through the door).
"Oh? How come?" Olya asked, her curiosity piqued.

Ephina straightened up, her arms full of bottles. She paused and sighed. "Well, about 10 years ago my husband disappeared. I saw him get dragged away from our house, but everyone says he got lost in the forest. I was called crazy for trying to convince people that he was alive, I just knew it. My family was embarrassed and pushed me away. So, up until last year, I raised my 3 children on my own. They're all either dead or gone now.." Her face hardened a bit. "But I still think he's out there, somewhere, I know it."

"well, if anyone were to know it'd be you! So I bet he's still out there too."
She paused.
".. did you happen to see what dragged him?" Olya didn't want to dwell on the subject for too long but.. you usually don't get dragged off by a wild animal or something, especially if you're still within the city walls.

Ephina moved into the front and began laying out the bottles. "I didn't...I simply saw him disappearing. But Tazu was a knight, he had many enimies. No doubt, it was one of them." She gave a small smile. "I'm glad to hear someone take faith instead of writing me off as a senile old woman."

Ephina nodded. "Yes, there are a few bundles of herbs I picked this morning that need sorting. Would you mind helping me with that?" She glanced torwads the door. "There's not much daylight left, so there won't be a lot more to do than that."

Ephina reached up and tugged a group of bundles, all tied with bits of string from the ceiling. "As you can see," she grunted, "There are 4 different herbs here. Aloe," she showed her a group of spiky green plants, "Parsley," almost clover-like, "Yarrow," and Mint." Just sort them in the bottles according to type, and we should be able to wrap up for today."
