Unless you were rather skilled in magic, it would be hard to tell that the door had been unlocked using magic. But, if one looked closley, there were telltale signs, including a small marking at the base of the simple wooden lock. Ephina rattled off a few names, they were evreyday plants that wouldn't take much notice. "I was hoping you might know why someone would take them, the plants don't have any medical use."

Meanwhile, a hooded figure ducked through the streets, moving rather quickly. They seemed to jump whenever they saw one of the strange new knights, and often would duck into the shadows. Their destination was unkown, though..

Avari scratched her nose. "Well, one of those plants makes a fairly potent poison, but the others don't really make anything useful." Gerrin was sniffing by the door, then placed his front paws up near the door handle and made a sound. Raising an eyebrow, Avari walked over. Gerrin pawed at the lock, whining. "It's the lock, boy. It's not broken. This can't be how they got in. It's completely unscat-" She broke off, noticing something small on the bottom of the lock. "Gerrin, you clever fox!" Avari smiled, looking closely at the mark. Beckoning to Ephina, Avari gestured to the small symbol.

Ephina peered at the symbol. "Truth be told, I couldn't tell you what it-" she paused. "Come to think of it, it looks an awful lot like the symbol of the knights that came with that new king who's making an alliance with King Sirius." She brushed some dust off. "But there's somewhere else I've seen it, if only I could remember where..."

The figure spotted Ephina's shop, and immeadiently began sneaking over to it. Ephina usually kept the door closed, and since there wasn't a good veiw of the inside, the stranger assumed it was closed.

Avari held up a finger to silence Ephina as she watched a shadow approach the door. Two feet cast alternating shadows on the crack between the door and the ground. Holding the finger to her lips, Avari carefully slid an arrow from her quiver. Readying it, she looked to Ephina.

Ephina hesitated, before approaching the door and peering through the windows. The stranger paused, and looked up, shadows hiding the details of their face. But, they did bend down and slide something under the door before running off. Ephina paused again before opening the door and glancing around. Picking up the item that the stranger had dropped, she closed the door and turned back to them. "That's strange..it's a letter." She opened it, reading it in a hushed tone. "This message was intercepted, though I managed to steal it back. Beware the king of shadows, for he has darker plans than it seems. I will try and get more information, I only hope that I am bringing it into the right hands. He comes to raise the dragon, for he is a caster of black magic. Do not tell anyone that I was here."

Signed, X.

Olya was standing behind the other two while they made their inspections when the letter arrived.
“Darker plans than it seems? It’d help to have more detail.” Olya frowned and shook her head, “what are we even supposed to do with this?..”
She became silent as she thought over all the strange occurrences that had taken place so far.
It wasn’t a matter of believing the letter true or being too afraid to act for Olya. When your boss’s now-blind husband who can’t remember anything shows up after 10 years, the kingdom suddenly changes for the worse, plants disappear by magic, and now a mysterious figure slips a letter under your door.. you find it a lot easier to believe things, and Olya was never one to let opportunity to slip by. If she could change things she would. So without a doubt or any second thoughts, she was ready to kill a dragon... or the ‘king of shadows’... or whatever she had to do.

Ephina shrugged. "It may be that whoever it is will come back. The question is, why here? And who was it?" The woman sighed and looked out the one open window, where some of the plants were clustered. "It could'nt have been a citizen, at least, not anyone who's come here." The thought of who the mysterious visitor could be seemed to worry Ephina a lot. She was silent for a minute, before nodding, taking a breath, and standing up straight. "Right then, I don't think there's anything that can be done about it, at least until whoever it is comes back. She glanced torwads the back door. "I'll tell Tazu about it when he wakes up."

*Three days later*

It was late at night. Tazu was sitting on a chair in the corner of the room, not really looking at anything. The moonlight streamed through one of the open windows, and all was silent and still. Suddenly, though, breaking the silence, was the rattle of a doorknob. Tazu sat up. "Ephina, Olya," he whispered, feeling his way to the door. "Come quick!" Someone was now knocking urgently on the door.

Olya was a deep sleeper and didn't wake at first but after the rattle and knocking had gone on for quite some time she was up. She stumbled out of bed and quickly slipped on a pair of day clothes before rushing outside into the front room awkwardly as she was not completely awake yet. It seemed like she was about to tip over. "Wha.. wuhs going on..?" Olya mumbled while brushing her unkempt hair out of her face with a hand.

Tazu put a finger to his lips. "There's someone at the door, and I think it's urgent. Where is Ephina?"

"I'll go get her," Olya whispers back. She turned and hurried back towards Ephina's room. She knocked gently on the old wooden door not wanting to make too much sound. "Ephina? Quick someone's at the door."

Ephina heard the knocking, and came to the door, pulling on her day clothes. She opened the door. "Hm? Whaz going on?" She yawned. "Who could be here at this hour?" She went to the door, and pulled it open slightly. Someone pushed past her into the room. It was the hooded stranger who had brought the note. They slammed the door shut, locked it, and leaned against the table, breathing hard. Ephina backed away. "W-who are you?" The stranger pushed back her hood, revealing herself as General Roseyblyn. "I think you know me."

"General Roseyblyn?" Olya frowned. By now Olya was fully awake and alert. Seeing the state Roseyblyn was in Olya went and pulled up a chair from behind the counter for her, "here, sit down. What's going on?"

General Rosenyblym nodded her thanks, sitting down in the chair. After a minute, she spoke. "I apologize for that "introduction," but I cannot be seen on the streets." Her face hardened. "One of his knights might have found me." She looked around the room at each of them."You do not know the state of things inside the castle. I was aressted, and thrown into my own dungeons for a law that does not exsist."

Olya nodded, "right.." She was interrupted by a yawn, "and so you escaped and came here.. why here exactly?" Olya guessed 'his' referred to the dark king. She had about a million questions but was trying to pace herself. She was sure the others had a lot to say too.

The genral looked up, a dark look in her eyes. "That...man is planning something. I think he's trying to raise the Dragon of the Ruby's Eye." The Dragon of the Ruby's Eye was a dangerous, powerful dragon. It had ravaged the land years ago, when it was first created by King Grym's grandfather. The elders would tell the tales of the fires it lit, the cities it destroyed, and the chaos that reigned. "If that happens, we're done for. And I needed help." She looked at Ephina. "I thought that you might know something, since your husband was a soldier near the end of the chaos."

Olya shook her head. "If only. Tazu went had gone missing 10 years ago.. but he just showed up a few weeks back blind and with amnesia... couldn't we stop the dragon like we did before?"

General Roseynblym looked at Tazu in alarm. "So she wasn't crazy?!" She sighed. "Well, the thing is, there's only one way to kill it. In the king's library, there is a story of a Hero who crafted a sword that defeated him. The hero dissapeared," she said, "But since Tazu can't tell us anything, there's only one other way to find the sword, and the hero."

"I'm listening. I hate the dark king as much as anyone else does. I'll help where I can." Olya crosses her arms. She had watery eyes with sizable bags hanging under them as she struggled to keep herself from yawning every 2 minutes, and although physically she was exhausted she felt more eager and restless than she had in the past few weeks.

General Roseynblym leaned forward. "Listen carefully. I'm not going to stay much longer, for my and your saftey. In the king's books, there is a riddle, which claims that it holds the secret of the Dragon's Sword.

Where there stands a tree filled face
Amoung the hightest boughs there be
A secret hoard of treausres three
The third one will, from Dragon's bondage set free." She stood up, and went to the door. "I trust you can find the Hero, I can't help you anymore than this. Good luck." With a swift movement, she replaced the hood, and hurried out the door, locking it behind her.
