You were a hero
Now you're a monster.

You play over the memories in your mind, inspecting them, not quite believing that they ever happened. The freedom, the glory, the satisfaction of being a hero, now taken from you. Countries are hunting you. People who were once your peers want you dead. Humanity itself seems to have rejected you. Two weeks, now, you've been running, not strong enough to fight back. Two weeks, leading up to this moment - the moment you will find your freedom again.

Plot
Show hidden content
You were a superhero, and a good one, at that - stopping crime, saving lives, being famous. Then you made one fatal mistake, which cost the lives of a catastrophic number of people and injured yourself. The rest of their world turned their backs on you, casting you out from the alleged heroes, turning you into a 'Villain' of sorts. They forced you into a life of crime, hunting you and threatening you, which you have now been living for two weeks. Somehow, you found out about a meeting of people like you. This roleplay begins with you travelling to the place where the meeting will be held.

At this point, you don't know that everyone's mistake happened at exactly the same time, and you don't know that everyone else even had an accident. You do, obviously, know about your powers.

Rules
Show hidden content
Nobody likes rules, so let's only use five.
1. All basic ph and roleplay rules apply.
2. Don't make yourself overpowered. It's very rare to have two superpowers here, so keep it realistic. Your powers can affect how you look, e.g dragon wings.
3. Keep the one-liners to a minimum. (one-liner example: '-Uhh set their hand on fire'. how to improve this: 'With a flick of their wrist, -Uhh's hand was set aflame, casting heat and light towards their surroundings'.)
4. You can have as many characters as you like, but please make sure that they don't overwhelm you.
5. Don't take advantage of any rules I haven't added.

Sign-ups

Ashen
A frozen wind spiralled throughout the inconspicuous construction, sending shivers down Ashen's spine. The gust carried, he thought, something malicious, but he had never believed such fantastical nonsense. His pale fingers tapped slowly on the desk that his feet rested on, as his eyes clung to the clock, which, combined with his irritating tapping, made a song of impatience, rebounding away from the lonely building and into the winter evening. 09:58 pm - if people were coming, which he highly doubted, they would be arriving soon. His lips pressed together, his eyes scouring the room. Desks were dotted around; he had chosen this as an abandoned building, which once may have been a small classroom. What was to be taught here, though, none could tell. The walls were rotting slightly, giving the place a gloomy touch, and the whole area shook whenever a strong wing happened to pass by. Not the most delightful place, but it was out of the way, and hard to find if you weren't looking.

Vee
The night sky hung like a menacing beast over Vee's head, waiting for the opportune moment to pounce. Tugging the sleeves of her pastel blue hoodie farther over her hands, she trudged towards the apparently empty building that had recently materialised in her view; a square, one-story, structure, with shattered windows and walls crawling with vines. As she neared, she became aware of a tapping noise, mixed with the ticking of a clock - someone was inside. Casting her eyes over the field, she saw nobody else, though that may have been because of the absence of light. Crossing her arms, she continued the trek through the overgrown field, which she easily could have traversed by flying. The risks of being seen were too high, though this place was in the middle of nowhere - she could hear the bustling city of New York, and the light cast from it was unmissable in a place like this.

Thalia made her way to the building, she was only about a mile away. Using her scarf she swung herself from tree to tree next to the overgrown field. She kept her blindfold on as she traversed the area. Her scarf and slight heightened senses helped her navigate around. She quietly landed next to the building and surveyed the area. She still wasn’t sure if it was a trap or not, so she was very cautious.

Yaku had decided to travel over the water, using his ability to kinda glide down a small river that had been dry for a few years. He used the water, which was taken from the ocean, to take care of any vines that were growing in his way and it evaporated into smoke once he had reached his destination.

Yaku silently pulled the jacket around himself closer, he hated the cold breeze that was in the air. His hands felt cold, having used his ability to travel to this overgrown field. He quickly made his way over to the building and brushed a strand of hair out of his face as he looked around the area. While he had accepted the fate he now had to live with, he really didnt like having to head to a meeting, not even knowing why he would be called there. In his pocket there was a small bottle of water and a pair of gloves, which he pulled out and put on before he would enter the building that now stood in front of him.

After putting the gloves onto his hands and feeling the pain in his left arm, the still not fully healed bones. He frowned a little, then looked around again. He had wanted to wait for some more people but he entered anyways, pushing the door open and entering quickly.

Aelin Spade

The cold touch of a dreary wind stirred the dust on the rubble, crooning absently as a black figure glided past. The step of the ebony figure punished the ground, their step fierce but swift, moving from one shadow until the next with ethereal grace. Her eyes burned where the murky horizon touched blue sky, where the grey ruin of fallen, derelict buildings that she had conveniently decided to reside turned into the verdant green meadows that would lead to the city. The demolishers had recently paid a visit last week, conveniently unaware of her presence, and with several violent movements, reduced the standing structures to rubble. It was a deafening, dangerous affair, and it had left her ears ringing violently after the men had left. But the result was desirable to both parties; nobody would live in the resulting wreck, which made hiding easy since the abandoned yet spacious catacombs and underground cave was just behind it, and the land could be left fallow and abandoned. A convincing illusion for all that saw it.

The female who lived here called herself Aelin Spade, an infamous name for a ghost of a girl. Many who had tried to track her found that she disappeared like smoke, black tendrils vanishing like a shadow under the sun. She was more shadow than human, if she was human at all. A quick cock of her head permitted her to move on again, dark attire blending into the shadows until there was no trace of her left. Always one to quickly orient herself to her surroundings under the cover of darkness when insomnia deprived her of sleep, it was not surprising that Aelin possessed a keen awareness of the nooks and crannies of this street. Whether they were the nesting places of some of the city’s less diserable company, or areas that she could quickly lean into in order to disappear, they did not fade from Aelin’s keen memory. The morning was, as usual, frigid at this hour, and even the thick league-issued jackets nor her brisk pace did not fully dispel the chill. Aelin rubbed her gloved hands against each other, her amber eyes peeled for hostile movement. It definitely wasn’t very sunny, and the low grey storm clouds that hung in the sky like a solemn shroud promised a downpour. That was fine. The dreary shroud would provide an easy cover if this meeting went south.

A sharp breath rasped through the helmet’s vocabulator, the harsh whisper of noise dissipating into the sky as a familier spike of indignation burned through her. “Aelin, you foolish, foolish, mongrel.” An inside voice hissed scornfully, its voice filled with sardonicism, “What are you even going for?” Actually that was a good point.

Goliath found himself standing next to a small tree, his massive body making the tree look smaller than it was... Or it made his body look like the tree, making the shrub look larger. A horse snorted nearby him, a voice whispered across the wind. He scowled at the area in front of him. They were growing impatient, hence influencing his mind to hurry. His scowl grew. Twitching a hand, multiple horses snorted, made growling sounds, and ran, four sets of hooves thundering silently against the ground. Death was at the head of their formation, Pestilence and War to the sides, and Famine bringing up the rear. The whispering near Presence stirred, started to grow louder. He silenced them with a small hiss. After a moment of silence, a voice rose silently by his ear. "Goliath, you are immortal near us. Simply go so we may cease our curiosity." After another dreadfully long moment of silence, Goliath spoke. "Sloth, you are too impatient. Wait for the Horsemen to return and give us a report."

Thalia listened carefully, she could sense others. They weren’t fools though, they were all staying hidden or they were too far away. It was her time to go. She jumped out of the tree she was perched in and walked towards the building. She calmly walked into the open and went into the building. The door creaked as she came in. She could sense two figures in the room, it was silent.

Sen Aizawa was sitting silently, earbuds in, and music blasting. Her amber eyes were glaring towards the ground as she muttered. "Who let me in on this." She hissed to herself. "I could have been a hero, but no. I became a villain." She continued, glad nobody was listening. Her eyes flashed a red before going to normal before sighing and staying silent.

The Four Horsemen leapt through walls, spreading systematically through the building as silent as phantoms. Passing though a wall, Death pulled his horse to a stop. Becoming visible, it turned and quickly made its way back to Goliath. Nodding quickly, Presence called back the other Horsemen with a mental signal, then started forwards toward the building slowly, his eyes searching for any movement.

Callen let out a slow, steady puff of air as he sat on the dirt. He rubbed his arms as a cold gust of wind rushed past him. The meeting would begin soon, Callen figured. He should get up now and start walking, but he didn't really want to. What was even the point of all this, he doubted attending the meeting could help him now. He was losing it, the small beacon of hope that kept him going, the small flame of desire slowly burning out as the days passed by. He sucked in another breath, casting his eyes up to the sky. With another puff of air, he slowly pushed himself to his feet, ignoring the tingling in his legs. He supposed they had fallen asleep, at least that was best-case scenario.

Callen slowly trudged through the grass and dead, gnarled roots littering the ground, his eyes downcast so he could watch his steps. Taking another inhale he glanced up at the sky, which had really become his only sense of direction after he had left. He didn't have much on him, and he had really only risked a single trip back to his apartment. The only thing he had managed to recover was a few changes of clothes, two plastic water bottles, a picture frame, and his identification. Why he had chose to take the latter, he still didn't understand. It was more of a hinderance to him at this point. Finally he had arrived at a rather old building. He didn't care much for caution as he flung open the door, walking right in. "Hello." He called out, looking around. Where would any others be?

Yaku had sat himself down in one of the corners of the room, he was cooling down a bit, yet lifted his head as he heard someone enter and call out. He didnt really intend to answer tho so he just didnt say something. He again brushed a bit of hair out of his face, next time he would need some hair pins or something simmular. He then leaned against the wall of the old building again and looked out of one of the dusty windows

Sen sat down, gazing tiredly at her phone. Her friends had sent her text on text. She deleted them all except for one. Kirishima Eijirou. She gazed at his texts one last time before going back to start drawing and wipe small tears in her eyes away.

Ashen
The night became ever darker as time drew painstakingly onwards, every second a gift from the fire that saves, rather than the water that smothers. The consistent tapping continued into the darkness, as did the ticking seconds of the clock. Ashen noted the few oddities who arrived, but said nothing, giving himself a stony, cold demeanour as his eyes scanned the crowd, assessing each oddity in turn. Figuring that of anyone else came, they could catch up, he stood, silencing all around him. A certain sense of leadership surrounded him; he had an aura that made him seem trustworthy, no matter what your secret was.
"Welcome, Villains," he announced, his voice now taking over the silence that the absence of his tapping had created.

Vee
A creak diluted the importance of Ashen's voice as the door again opened, revealing a hunched, small girl, who's features could not be defined in the dim lighting. Because of this, and her mind being too focused on the pain of walking, she did not notice the figure in front of her, though he had shouted out a word that seemed muffled to her ears. Without hesitation, she walked into him, letting out a slight 'oomph'. Her head barely reached his neck, she thought, as she jumped back, rubbing her reddened nose whilst letting out a loud curse.

Goliath stepped into the building, presences drifting around him, whispering of someone in the shadows. Death whispered in a voice even more hushed. He spoke quickly, each word meaning nothing to the ear but flooding the mind with information. Presence nodded slowly, then quickened his pace slightly. The hallways filled with the clopping of hooves on the ground, and whispers drifting into rooms and flooding them. At last, Wrath stopped in a door way, only a red hue against the dim light. Stealing back to Goliath, he whispered as well. Goliath nodded, then stepped up to the doorway. The four horses around him snorted, and the whispers flooded into the room where the others were gathered. Goliath's massive body filled the doorway easily, seven, nearly eight feet tall. He bowed his head and entered, his gold flaked eyes landing on every last person in the room, lastly on Ashen. His hand twitched nearly unnoticeably, and War showed his face to the others in the room. The blood covered horse that War rode stepped forwards slowly, then rose quickly to a canter, dissipating as it hit the other man. "Your name is Ashen." Goliath's voice was deep and soft, hardly a whisper in the room.

Thalia listened closely, more people had entered the room. But the latest one to enter, was “interesting”. Many different presences came with them, but they weren’t human. She leaned back in her chair and crossed her arms. She’d most likely meet them soon.

He lifted his head as he heard the new Voice talk, his head still kinda leaning against the window. He sat up correctly and quietly listened to what he would have to say. Yaku wasnt sure what would happen now, yet there were a lot of.. rather interesting people in the room

Callen stumbled forward as something hit him from behind, though not aggressive. He whipped around, his brain barely registering the small 'oomph'. He found himself facing a somewhat short, blue-haired woman. He slightly tilted his head as he studied her. She didn't seem aggressive, and he quickly deemed her to not be a threat. Not that anything really threatened him anyways. "Hello. Are you alright?" He couldn't help but ask, he silently cursed himself in his mind. Should he even act like that around these people, would they see it as a weakness?

Tori

She had cautiously approached the building, somewhat considering using her powers to fly there. In the end, she resisted this urge, partially because she probably wouldn't even get off the ground without making her left arm worse if she flew there in her full Firebird form. She could still fly in her half Firebird form, due to her wings in that form being seperate limbs, but her wings and tail still glow pretty brightly, and someone may spot her and turn her back in to the police, and she really didn't want to risk spending time behind bars again. Plus, she didn't want to go back to eating in the prison cafeteria after she's been occasionally stealing from places like bakeries just so she'd at least get a decent meal. After hearing that someone was inside the building, Tori ducked, trying not to let anyone see her.

***

Vivienne

Vivi, in her dragon form, had also gone towards the building, occasionally jumping and then gliding towards the ground as she ran. Despite being a literal dragon in this form, she was only around 8 feet tall when standing on her hind legs. After the incident that happened 2 weeks prior that caused her to be shunned by society, she had begun to use her dragon form a lot more, partially because in her human form, she still retained her horns and tail, which she would most likely be called out for if noticed. She had mostly gotten away unnoticed for this much time by sneaking around underground, coming out and teaching herself to hunt in Central Park, then going back underground until she found her way out. She had clawed at the walls of the building for a while, while looking for a way to get in

Goliath hardly let Ashen respond, his attention suddenly drawn elsewhere. The giant lumbered slowly into the room, eyes fixed on Thalia. "You can sense them..." He trailed off, then finished his sentence. "Thalia?" He was not leaning over her, but his voice might have been the same if he was.

Thalia was still, her scarf slowly unraveled off her mouth. “Did I give you permission to use my name?” She calmly asked Goliath. Her voice alone would give normal people chills, it might have been why she scared children. She made sure to focus on him, and his mysterious power.

Ashen
A hard, merciless glare was cast at the communicating Villains, both of whom seemed equally able to destroy the other, from his first glance. An ominous gust blew over the run-down structure, making it shudder under the sky's watch. His eyes darted between the two as he thought about how best to avoid conflict; though, in a room bristling with outlaws, murderers and thieves, conflict was bound to come forth. He cleared his throat, deciding to interrupt their converse before someone became agitated.
"I have gathered you here today because-" He paused. It was no use trying to introduce this gently to them, and they would see right through his circus of pretty politeness. "Well, judging by the fact that you're here, we all must have something in common." At this point, he hesitated, glancing around the group. Some of them he recognised as past heroes, who had recently been pulled into the lure of villainy. "So, uh.. I recognise some of you. Who here used to be a hero?"

Vee
She winced, clasping her hands into fists as the wound in her leg flared up, though she said nothing of it. Upon hearing the boy's questioning, she nodded, and met his eyes, which, in what little light there was, she deemed to be brown. Voices could be heard from the other room, so she brushed past him, having not said a word directly to him. Her eyes lazily scanned the gathered group, which she already had suspicions of turning into a cult. The apparent leader of the group, who's name she knew as Two, from seeing him on the news several times, seemed fairly awkward, especially seeing as he had somehow misplaced his shirt. His next words startled her a little, as she suspected that very few had a backstory similar to hers. Quietly, she rose her arm a little, signalling that yes, she had once been a hero.
