Can you sell/trade eggs? I didn't know picking one of the new starters would give me an egg and I'm trying to chain for a shiny and I really don't want to have to restart and recharge.

Eggs given through the Event Distribution never break your chain, so you're good.

But to answer your question anyway, no you can't trade or sell eggs. The only option you have here is be to buy an egg storage (at Bill's House, accessible via Storage Boxes) but these are expensive, so you might wanna be aware of that before being too carefree there.
