Is there any specific way to get the gen 7 starters or is it just hard.

You have a chance of randomly adopting them from the Lab. How often they appear though is anybody’s guess. You can get an egg also via Gem Collector, though you’d need the dex entry first. They’re always popping up in the GTS and Auction House, so you could try your hand at that as well. :)
