The world is different. All peoples have a soulmate of sorts, and the world is spoilt half way between the kinds of soulmates you can have. Half of all individuals have heretochromia, one eye was the color of their soulmate and the other was their own. Once they meet their soulmate, their eyes go to their normal color. The other half have the ability to draw or write on themself and have the ink appear on their soulmate.
Now rant you know what the world is like, this is what the story surrounds. There is a summer camp in the woods, keeping kids in sync with all aspects of life. Hiking, swimming, crafts, and other things. The camp is also known for its teenagers finding their soulmates.
There's also an extremely rare kind of soulmate. It's a soulmate connection between touch. People with this do not receive the ability to see in color unless they touch their soulmate. When they do, everything is in color.

He's short tempered and fiery. He's very different from his sister in that he's extremely introverted. He is quiet and cold to most until you make him angry. Jay sat on the bus, reading the novel in his hands to the best of his abilities. He had a light headache, but refused to give up on the book he held. The bus hit a bump, sending the small boy about 6 inches off the seat before he landed back down. He yelped, face flushing lightly. He sighed softly, shifting in the seat to reset himself. He closed the book slowly, sloping it into the backpack at his feet. Most campers parents dropped them off, or sent them on the bus if they didn't have the time. His parents just didn't properly care where he went, since the bou wouldn't be spending the usual week at the camp, but the entire summer. He felt the bus come to a halt, and he stood. He slung the bag onto his back and gripped the handle of his suitcase. He let mostly everyone out before him, slipping in front of a young girl who gave him a sweet smile. He stepped out of the bus, glancing around at the camp. It was awesome, and he was surprised at how low the cost was when he saw how amazing the camp looked. He'd be staying in cabin 7. He was jittery, nervous, but overall excited.

Arabella was dropped off by her big brother, Brant. She slipped out of the passenger seat as the car stopped, having opened her door before the car quit moving. She prepared herself for a long lecture about safety in a car, but after getting her things and meeting her brother at the front of the car, his eyes were only sad. "Come on, Brant. You won't miss me that m-" she was cut off by Brant hugging her, and she hugged back with her free arm. "I'm going to miss you a lot, Ara." He said, kissing her cheek. The smiled before Arabella walked off, trying to find the cabin she'd been told to go to. Cabin 7. A cabin that was to have 2 girls, one being herself, and 2 boys. She didn't question the gender thing, just shrugged and glancing around as she reached the cabins.

Ariel had spent the whole bus ride jabbering to those around her about everything she'd learned about the camp from the activities to the flora and fauna found in the woods. She cackled when the bus launched her in the air, higher because she was in the back. She twisted and turned the spinner ring that her dad's had gotten her before she left, with its match in her backpack in case she found her soulmate. Hers had cute bits of seaweed on it, and its match had cattails and lavender sprigs engraved on it. Ariel was glad to have taken the bus, it let her meet all of the others who were going to the camp early. She'd not found anyone in her cabin yet, cabin seven but was excited to!

Logan got out of his car, a little disgruntled that his mother had made him do the drive down himself. On the bright side, if he had to leave early all it'd take was a call home and a chat with the counsellors. He wasnt glad to be at the camp the second year in a row, not having found his soulmate the year before kinda soured the mood for him. He'd be in cabin seven, so that wasnt too bad. Maybe he'd finally find his soulmate and have normal coloured eyes.

Jay entered the cabin, flicking on the lights. He sighed in relief as he realized this place had electricity and bathrooms in the cabins. He looked around the room, seeing two bunkbeds placed on opposite sides of the room. He huffed, sliding his things under the bed and fetching his book. He slipped off his converse and set them by the door. He crawled onto the top bunk, a lump in his throat as he laid down and stared at the ceiling. He was lightly scared of heights, but the thought of a person being under him was more comforting than an empty space that something terrible could be lying in. He shivered, opening his book.

Arabella huffed, taking one of her hair ties and tying her hair up in a messy, but cute, bun. Her heretochromatic eyes flicked back and forth, noticing so many people with different eyes and writing on their arm. She swallowed, noticing none that she saw had one lilac eye and one blue one. She looked to the ground, keeping at a steady pace in the crowd. She slipped out of the crowd as she saw Cabin 7, beginning to walk to it.

She entered, seeing a cute pair of shoes by the door. She glanced to an empty bunkbed before looking to one with a very small boy laying on the top reading. He glanced at her as the door opened, his pretty brown eyes wide in what seemed to be raw fear. She gave an almost apologetic wave, and slipped to the other bunk to slid her things under and sit on the bed and gaze up at the boy, who she found to be extremely adorable. She gave a sweet smile, making him smile back. No words were spoken, just kind actions. Ara liked it here already, she decided.

"Heeeello Cabin seven!" Ariel shouted as she opened the door to the cabin, dragging her suitcase behind her. She took the last open top bunk, hoping whoever'd yet to arrive wouldnt mind any. She fluffed her hair up a little, to get it out of her eyes. "Lovely to be here on this beautiful summer's day, and every consecutive summer day until this program lets out!" She cheered, placing her belongings at the end of the bed before hoping up and looking across to Jay first, before her eyes alighted upon Arabella. She'd seen those eyes before, or well, half of those eyes. "You've the most beautiful lilac eyes." She said, giving a goofy lovestruck grin. "They seem awfully familiar iffin i'm being honest"

Logan dragged his belongings out of the back of his car and brought a manilla folder full of the paperwork necessary for him to be able to keep his car on site up to the counsellors cabin before making his way down to cabin seven. He trudged in loudly opening the door, ruining any type of tension that could have been building up due to a quick founding of ones soulmate. He pulled his sweatshirt over tighter, hiding the myriad of random doodles that littered his arms as he took the last remaining bunk and shoved his stuff under it, rolling onto the bed and curling up facing the wall, tired from the drive. His hair was sticking up a bit, curling around his ears and the nape of his neck. He had a large cowlick in the center of his head that he never managed to get to lay flat.

Jay jumped when the door was opened by an extremely excited girl. He looked over at her, smiling. Arabella had jumped as well, head snapping up to look at the red head. She saw the blue eye as the girl took the bunk above her, but not the other until the girl had looked at her. Jay had solved this mystery the second he saw both of the girl's eyes, letting out a little gasp. Arabella stared up at her as she spoke watching the girl's lilac eye seem to flicked before fading to blue. She flushed bright red, ready to speak when the door opened again.

Jay was the one more forcibly drawn to the door this time. He felt his heart seem to pound as the boy entered, but let out a huff at the different shades of his eyes. He flopped back down on his back, starting to hear the pittering of rain and the chitter of people outside getting more frantic. He swallowed. Thunderstorms were also a huge fear of his, bigger than heights. But he was afraid of everything, it seemed.

Arabella watched the new boy flop onto the bed, and glanced back to the red head in front of her. "You're my soulmate." She said, voice wavering and wispy, as though she didn't believe it. She stood up quickly, shoving out her thin hand. "I'm Arabella." She said softly, face flushing 50 shades of red. She looked at the girl, never feeling more happy or nervous.

"I'm Ariel" She said, hopping off her bed and excitedly shaking Arabella's hand. "'m friends all called me Ari though." She smiled. "Its lovely to meet you Arabella." She smiled and watched as Arabella's blue eye darkened to a lilac. "It's lovely to finally match a face to the eye." Ariel didnt know if she wanted to give Arabella the ring yet or not. would it be too forward? Ariel didnt want to mess things up, Arabella seemed so cool and all, how was she supposed to keep up?

Logan pulled his Ipod out of his pocket and put earbuds in, trying to drown out the sound of the storm. He didnt care for thunder, but he liked the rain well enough. He played the loud music that he'd downloaded for the purpose of tuning everything out as he pulled a pen out of his pocket. on one hand, he could grab his notebook out of his backpack, but why bother. He started doodling some stars and space symbols along his inner arm, doing all of the planets out as he went up his arm. He made sure it wasnt noticeable to his cabin mates, not wanting them to think him weird for bothering to draw on his arm when he probably had a heterochromia soulmate.

Jay shifted to grab his jacket that was tied around his waist, getting a little cold. He began to shrug it on as he noticed the ink appearing on his arm. He pulled it on completely, rolling up the sleeve on his arm so he could watch the thin lines of ink appear, a little smile forming on his lips. I'll find him someday. He thought to himself, nodding as he sniffled a bit. He went back to his book, glancing at his exposed arm to see any new additions to the doodles. "It's the solar system..." He whispered in relization, soft voice even softer.

Arabella smiled and ran a hand through her hair until her fingers brushed against the fabric of her scrunchie. She continued to smile up at Ariel. "Ariel..." She whispered to herself. The name alone left her breathless. It was her soulmate's name. "Disney princess, hm?" She said softly, associating the names after a short pause of reflection.

[center]"Ha, my parent's love the movie. And hey, if the shoe fits!" Ariel joked. "Or, hm well thats more cinderella I guess." She pondered for a moment the ridiculousness of her own joke. "What about you, Arabella? Just a gorgeous name to match your face, or there a meaning behind it?"

Logan finished his doodle and shoved the pen back in his pocket, letting himself get lost in his music for a while, pulling his sleeve down and settling into the bunk. all things considered, the camp was very good for its price-point. The beds werent old rickety cots, they were pretty nice bunk beds, with obviously worn mattresses, but mattresses all the same. He didnt want to bother dragging his bedding out of his bag yet, that'd be a task for later. He was busy looking forwards to any arts and crafts activities the camp did.

Arabella giggled lightly as she blushed. "The name means beautiful and to pray. This is what happens with over confident Christian parents." She hummed. Her heart stopped at the relization that her parents were Christian and she was a very closeted bisexual with a female soulmate. She breathed sharply, before trying to brush it off with a laugh. "So, uh, that's what it means, haha." She gave a nervous smile.

Thunder crackled, making Jay jump and let out a soft whimper. He pulled his sleeve down, trying to get back into his book. His shoulders quivered and his whole little body shaked. He counted in his head over and over again, taking little sharp breaths as he tried to push away his feeling of panic. He didn't need an attack, not now.

"Very fitting for you then, figures it means beautiful." Ariel smiled. "So, what're you most excited about activities wise this summer?" She asked, trying to keep the conversation rolling. She wasnt good at it, always fearing that awkward lull in conversation.

Logan sighed as the thunder crackled at a low point in his song. He heard Jay's soft wimper somehow over the noise of the thunder. He rolled himself out of the bed and pulled his Ipod out with the earbuds, softly laying them beside Jay as an open invitation to use them. He didnt care much for conversation with people he didnt know that well. He pulled his bedding out of his bag and put his bed together, before pulling a summer reading book out and settling into that.

"Swimming or hiking. I brought my camera so I can take some pretty pictures around camp. There are probably some beautiful sights, like the sunrise on the lake or the trees on an early morning hike. Plus swimming is an amazing activity. No questions there. You?" She hummed softly, smiling. She glanced at Jay and Logan, seeing the tall boy place his iPod up there for Jay. She smiled softly, turning back to Ariel.

Jay glanced to his right at the earphones, and down at Logan. He picked them up with a soft and stammering "thank you" before putting them on. Some song he didn't really know was ending, playing a few notes before a new song played. He liked it, though he didn't know it. He closed his eyes, putting his book down. He rolled onto his side, listening with a little smile.

"Same! Well, hiking more than swimming, but they're both so fun! Photography's never been my forte, but I love seein the pictures." Ariel said, not really wanting to admit her faults, but this relationship was going to be based on trust and honesty gosh darn it. At least, that was what her fathers always said whenever they found the other cheating on their yearly diet plans. Diet plans that always fizzled out by march at the latest. "Its gonna be such a fun summer!"

Logan gave a soft hmm to show that he had heard Jay, but didnt look up from his book, quickly getting engrossed in the literature.

Arabella nodded softly. "I think so. Everything seems so amazing here. There are only like... 4 counselors? And there's around 28 campers, so..." She shrugged. "Mercy to the counselors I guess. One was super happy to be here, the one in the camp video on the website? Daaaavid, I think?" She hummed softly, looking away in thought for about five seconds before looking back to Ariel with a nod. "Pretty sure it was David and the other chick, Gwen."

Jay slowly fell asleep, the music lulling him. The jacket he wore was big around his little body, the hood slipping down and his fluff brown hair poking out. His lips parted, breathing becoming steady and soft. He shifted in his sleep every few minutes, letting out little noises one might think belonged to a sleeping kitten.

"David was like that last year, He'll be like that this year. Ol' Walkin sunshine he is." Logan said from where he was, still engrossed in his book. "Gwen's chill, she reads godawful teen romance novel though. Loves trash TV." He fondly remembered the last year he had spent at the camp. It was fun, just not what he had been looking for.

"Oh! Thats fun!" Ariel hopped a little in place, clapping her hands together lightly as her red hair flounced. "Is he, asleep?" She questioned, looking up at Jay. "Its only what, mid-afternoon?"

Arabella smiled, giving Logan a little grin. She glanced up at Jay, padding to him and brushing the hair from his eyes lightly. "He's out. Probably trying to sleep away the storm, poor thing." She hummed, rubbing the boy's shoulder lightly before going back and sitting on her bed softly. Jay hummed in his sleep, a little noise of dreamless purity.

"Adorable." Logan said, not looking up from his book. "Counsellors dont hand out the schedules til tomorrow at breakfast anyways, its the day to settle into cabins after all." He informed them. "'d be best if we all got some sleep soon anyways, first day's a long one."

"Its gonna be great!" Ariel said, hopping up to her bed with only two steps on the ladder. "We're gonna go hiking, and do arts and crafts, and go swimming and make smores and tell stories! I'm so excited!"

Arabella nodded. "Yeah, I didn't sleep the best last night anyways. Night terrors." She said. She glanced at Jay before deciding to make her bed. Retrieving purple and white sheets and a little white comforter, she began to make her bed whilst still listening for the conversation to continue as she did so. She slipped off her shoes, glad that she wore leggings and a tanktop today.

Logan steadily nodded off with his eyes open, a trick he'd mastered in classes and a habit he'd been unable to drop. His book lay open in front of him, a pencil holding the pages open.

Ariel pulled out her aquatic themed bedding, putting the sheets on the bed but leaving the comforter in a crumbled mess in the middle. She curled herself into it, managing to wrap herself in the most convoluted way possible. She sent he fathers a text saying how she'd arrived fine and was settled, glad she had taken the bus ride in pyjamas. far more comfy and she was all set for bed.
