Chapter 0: Prologue


(Lunarstar's POV)

Darkness, everywhere around me. Where were they?! My blue-grey pelt was fluffed out as I searched endlessly for my mate and Amberfur. "Lionpelt! Amberfur!" I shrieked, green eyes wide. No response. Panic rose, and I tried to swallow it down. No luck. I called out once more. But still, nothing. I dug my sharpened claws into the ground as I wondered where I was. Wherever it is, I need to get out.


(Junko's POV SLIGHT SPOILERS FOR DANGAN RONPA)

One minute I'm facing off against Naegi in trial, now I'm in complete and utter darkness. I can hear someone calling out, probably as confused as I am. I would've called out to Mukuro, if she wasn't... no. I shook my head in disbelief and walked forward in blackness. I nearly yelled as someone jumped at me. "Who are you?!" the voice demanded. "J-Junko Enoshima!" I replied quickly.

Whoever it was grunted and stepped away, and in a flash of bright green I saw a human girl in front of me. "Name's Leli, and looks like we're trapped in the Dark World. Follow me, I have some friends who might be able to help you." I reluctantly waited until I could tell she was away from my face and followed swiftly. Maybe I should run like a coward, but that's not what I am.

(Oliver's POV)

My brown pelt was fluffed out. I could hear familiar cries of a she-cat. "Who's there?" I yowled, digging my forepaws' claws into nothingness. I dropped back down. Narrowing my amethyst purple eyes, I began worrying about Leli. She was often shapeshifting back and forth, and never an Umbreon or cat anymore. Always human or some other bipedal creature. I heard something stir behind me, so I lashed out with unsheathed claws.

{Midnight's POV}

My bright blue eyes darted around the darkness. Where was I? My front paw that had a bit of white, unlike the rest of my black fur, moved forward. My claws dug into the ground below me. "Is anyone there?" I yelled out into the darkness. As one of the strongest of my pack, I was never afraid. This place seemed different,  I could feel it. I backed up a bit, as my tail brushed into a tree. A small sigh, escaped my mouth.

{Hana's POV}

I sat in a small cave, a fire burning in front of me. My long black hair sat around me. "Been two months now..." I muttered to myself, as I rose up. All I could remember was fighting some human, then I was here. My horns stuck out of my head, I stared at my shadow. This place was horrid, always danger. Though it wasn't a problem for Hana. She was a succubus after all.

'Time to change camps, ' I thought to myself, as I grabbed my small pouch of supplies. This had been my camp for a few days now,  so I knew I needed to move camps. I walked out of the cave, I had no shoes on, for they had gotten lost. My red kimono was slightly ripped and torn, with some mud on it as well.

{Poll's POV}

My ears wiggled as I heard a loud thud. My dark green eyes looked around me, as I jumped forward. As I landed into a pile of leaves, another thud was heard. My orange fur would easily be noticed in these leaves. Quickly jumping back out, I began to run. I wasn't sure what those thuds were, but I didn't really want to find out, either.

Once I was far enough away, I finally stopped running. A small sigh escaped my mouth, as I laid down. This was much more tiring as a cat. My body began to relax as I began to turn human. My once orange fur was now a olive colored skin. I still had long orange hair, and my ears, though. My outfit was merely a tank top and shorts. "This place already seems exhausting.." I stated, my voice low, as I finally sat up.

(Oliver's POV)

"Ow!" a blue-grey she-cat screeched. I realized I had clawed at her face, and she had a cut on her muzzle, a bit before her nose. "Are you okay?" I asked, slowly bending over to look at her. She glares at me with cold green eyes. "You...don't look like Amberfur or Lionpelt," she whimpered. I sighed. "C'mon, let's go find some safe haven for you," I whisper to her, helping her over to a tree.

"So, who even are you?" I asked. She stared at my white paws. "Heeello?" I asked, waving a paw in front of her eyes. She snapped back into attention. "O-Oh, my name is Lunarstar," she meowed, licking a paw and drawing it over her wound. She looked at me. "So...who are you?" she asked. I snorted. "My name's Oliver. And if you see a cat turning into a winged creature or human, that's Leli." Lunarstar tilted her head. "Human?"

I blinked. "Never heard of humans? They're tall and they have fur on their heads. They walk on their hind paws and have these five clawed paws they call 'hands'." Lunarstar gasped. "Twolegs?! Why would a cat ever be an awful Twoleg?" I snorted and burst out laughing. "You really don't know a lot, do you?"


(Leli's POV)

This Junko girl... She seems awfully suspicious. Why would she even be here? Why am I giving her safety if she could be harmful? I guess it's better to kill a friend than to welcome an enemy, but I'll just play friendly for now. I'm half tempted to run off into the darkness of the woods when a red aura surrounds me, Junko, and two nearby cats. I recognize Oliver among the two, and try to call out. But there's no reply. I can hear the grunts and struggles of someone nearby. The voice sounds male no doubt, but why is this... Nevermind.
