he soon hid it back under his shirt and went over to Reign, simply poking his forehead as he returned the erased memories back to him then jumped back in case he decided to try and slice him with his sword.
''only a fair few in this town are a little more accepting of vampire's but still take the precautions so as to not end killed if vampire was really hungry like animal blood, even leave peace offerings outside at the towns edge where it's a little more abandoned and vampire infested'' he said.
Jackson thought a bit more than cleared his throat after a little bit, straightening before looking back in the direction of town, then back at the group.
''i know this may not make up for what i've done.... but, i'd like to offer you guys a proper shelter... and try to help bring back a feathery friend of yours'' he said, the first part to all of them, the last part to the twins.
"Reign--" Rain began, but Reign glanced back at him with the same glare.
"This bastard has wronged us several times--I don't think you were there when he tried to make a move on your girlfriend, but he's too deceptive to mess with. To think that we should forgive so easily is ridiculous," Reign replied.
''now i was not trying anything with your brother's girlfriend, now i may admit my approach could've been better.... but i truly was only intending to introduce myself, and that was the only time i could've wronged you, the last time you and Crysia ran into me you trespassed into my home...... surely that balances out what happened between us'' he said
he paused for a moment, then looked away after a thought crossed his mind.
''though i guess wiping your memory and binding your cousin to me doesn't help in this case...'' Jackson mumbled.
''for starter's my binding would've kept her from being bound if my mother tried to have Crysia bound to her! but, i removed my goddamn binding against her, and, i knew her back when she used to be an assassin for my father at the time you dumba--es! and need i remind you that i did say Crysia was back at my place keeping an eye on my son? your cousin and i are actually on good terms right now.... and i really don't want to f--k it up!'' Jackson spat, his temper finally getting the better of him.
he clenched his teeth and glared at them now, but looked away again and slowly calmed back down.
''dammit...... i just wanted to make peace between us....'' he grumbled quietly to himself.
Rain slipped his hand into Scarlet's to calm himself. "We need proof that she's safe," he said in what was a steady growl. "Your words aren't enough to gain peace."
he pulled something out of his pocket, a steel rose, and tossed it up into the air.
the steel rose he tossed into the air swirled and unraveled in a swift flourish and, within a couple seconds, a large mirror softly landed beside him.
Jackson tapped the screen and muttered under his breathe, and soon a live image appeared, showing Crysia sitting on the couch and Percy leaning against her soundly asleep, Crysia's raven resting on her master's shoulder.
''this enough proof?'' he questioned, motioning to the mirror as he looked back over to the twins and Scarlet.
Rain looked at the image carefully for a while, then turned to peer at Jackson's face as if searching for any detail that would indicate a lie. But there was anger in his eyes, and when he took a minute to reevaluate his mood, he decided that he was far too emotional to rationally make this decision. He nudged Scarlet softly and cocked his head to silently ask her what she thought.
she sighed and looked up at Rain while letting his arm go, but still held his hand.
''he's offering us a place to stay.... an actual stable shelter... if he had ill intentions would he actually be offering something like that...?'' she asked him in a whisper, making sure only the twins could hear her.
Jackson shrugged and pulled his hood back up, then made sure he had everything before he pulled the bottle back out.
''trust me, don't trust me, believe what you want... i'll at least make this spot a little safer for you, just... don't go near the tree for a while'' he said, then turned to the tree.
he started muttering incantations under his breathe as he made a cross in the air with his free hand, a light dust like symbol appearing before he tapped it and it hit the tree, disappearing into thin air as he splashed a bit of holy water onto the trunk of the tree.
''that should keep whatever was trying to harm you away.... i'll send Crysia back this way here in a little bit'' he said, packing his stuff away once more, then disappeared into the night to return home.
once he was gone, the earmuffs and blindfold vanished into thin air, letting Crimson hear and see again.
The vampire perked up in surprise when Rain spoke to him, which faded into a straight face and an uncharacteristic thumbs-up. Reign crossed his arms and furrowed his eyebrows, looking back and forth between his brother and Crimson. Rain shrugged, "I just want Crysia to be safe."
---------------
''i want her to be safe too... but she's strong enough to fend for herself you know'' she said tonelessly.

after a bit of some trekking through the forest, Jackson soon returned o his home and entered through the cellar doors, pulling his hood back and putting the backpack up on the coat rack.
''might want to go reassure your friends your alright.... though you still are welcome to visit'' he said, going over and sitting down on the sofa.
Percy woke up a bit drowsily and sat up, rubbing his eyes before he laid back over and against Jackson.
Reign simply sat in close proximity to Crimson, hunched over his knees with his the handle of his sword resting on his knees. His face was devoid of emotion and he seemed to be inspecting the tree that Jackson had thrown water at with intensity.
----------
Crysia nodded in agreement, gathering her things and throwing her cloak hood over her head. She outstretched her wrist for Celestial to perch on and smiled softly at Percy and Jackson. "I'll see you around. You're good company," she said and made her way out the door.
she didn't fully fall asleep, she was simply dozing off a little bit but slowly she fell into a deeper sleep, lulled by the sound Rain's heartbeat.
~~~~~~~~~~
Jackson waved as she left and sighed, soon getting up while levitating Percy up into the air before having him land in his arm's.
Percy slowly woke back up with a yawn and rubbed his eyes.
''how about we go visit grandpa, hm? i'm sure he'd love to meet ya'' he said, setting the young boy back down onto the sofa as he sat up and beamed.
Percy soon got up and nodded, smiling brightly up at Jackson as his eyes sparkled.
''yes! i wanna go meet grandpa!'' he cheered, then went to go get his cloak and shoes.
Jackson smiled as he walked over and grabbed his cloak once more, then grabbed the cross out from under his shirt to look at it for a moment.
soon he slipped it off and hung it up by the door, then picked Percy up once they were both ready and stepped through a portal he created.
once he stepped through his shoes tapped lightly on the granite floor and the portal quickly closed behind him, looking around the barren hallway as he put Percy down onto the floor.
Percy stayed right by his father's side and kept his cloaks hood up, keeping his face hidden as he looked around as well.
''this place is prettier than Grandma's castle....'' the young boy mumbled quietly, which caused Jackson to chuckle.
he led the way to the throne room while holding Percy's hand and made sure he could keep up, not wanting him to get lost.
''i've been a bit busy, so i'm dreadfully sorry for not visiting father... i figured since i was free i'd come visit'' he said as he straightened, then looked down at Percy as Monty asked who he was.
he rubbed the back of his neck and chuckled quietly, nudging him forward a little bit.
''well i rescued him from a rogue vampire attack a while ago, he was the only survivor of the attack, and i adopted him... meet your grandson, Percy Blackford'' he said, and Percy pulled his hood down, looking up at Monty with his bright peridot green eyes.
He didn't have to bend down to inspect him, but he looked down and broke into a smile. "I didn't expect to become a grandfather so soon," he said, and tenderly stuck his hand out at Percy for him to shake it. For a royal, it was about as affectionate as he could get to someone he was just introduced to.
