muttering under her breath, swift thought it would be useful to actually get some sleep.
i think its about time to talk to the alpha... just to see what he actually wanted.. swift thought.
she didn't want to worry luna about dissapearing, so she would leave a message before she left.

the next early dawn, swift used a stick to write in the snow.
''i'll be back, gonna go see if i can find a cave, and hunt'' she wrote in a small layer of snow on the ground.
dropping the stick, swift padded off back into the woods.

a few hours of walking through cold snow, swift thought her paws were gonna fall off.
''i hate the cold...'' swift muttered.
finally seeing the outline of the pack camp, she walked to it standing straight.
''hello? where is the alpha of your pack? i need to speak with him'' she said loud enough for the whole pack to hear.
seeing one of the wolves come near, she perked her ears.
''you dare come into this pack? intruder, out!'' swift thought it was star, but it wasn't.
''i mean you no harm! i just need to speak with your alpha, please'' swift was saying kind enough.
''shade! enough, let her speak'' the alpha said walking up.
swift dipped her head to the alpha, she was gonna give her respect.
''i heard you were offering my friend and me to join your pack, am i correct?'' swift asked respectfully.
''that is correct, do you agree to join? if so go get your-'' before he could finish, swift interupted.
''sorry, but i've got bad history behind me about packs i have been in, but why?'' swift was done with being respectful, she wasn't really the one to respect a higher rank like this foolish alpha wolf.
he just looked shocked, like he was never turned down on an offer before.
''well, i was gonna offer a nice pack to be in, but since you and your friend both declind.. attack!'' the alpha yelled.
''and that's my cue! bye!'' swift yelled and bolted, no need getting anymore info now.

few minutes later.

''i cant believe i outran those pack wolves... i haven't ran like that in moons'' swift said almost out of breath.
seeing that luna was still asleep, swift thought, at least i got back here quicker then i thought..
walking over to the message she had wrote, she used her tail to erase the message, since it wasn't needed any more.
curling back up where she had been sleeping, she instantly fell asleep.

Luna woke up on an early morning, to find Swift still asleep. She crawled out of the log, and went off to hunt. It was snowing dimly, only a thin fabric of snow lurking over the grounds. The she-wolf was still tired, but she was hungry. She shook out her thick, ebony-black coat. Luna had to be extra careful, her ebony pelt was easy to spot in the winter-it annoyed her, for she wasn't the best hunter in the first place.

As she lurked off deeper into the forests, the light grew just a tweak dimmer. As she sniffed the morning air, her senses were dull and tired. Still, she had believed to scent a fawn-more hopefully a yak. No- She was wrong. It was... something Luna could just tip. Of course, she was drowsy and couldn't figure it out. At the corner of her eye, she swore there was a swift shadow. She than growled, "Who's there?" Strangely, she was answered by a white timber wolf. "I am Scar, an Omega from the pack that kindly offered you to join, as you rudely refused." Luna grumbled, but the he-wolf continued. "I have come to challenge you- something that will really show you how strong our pack is."

Luna's deathly claws rippled at the ground, as her eyes began to grow cold, as if heartless. Her tail whipped furiously, as she barked. "Bring it on, doggy." Her voice was completely different before, it shocked the wolf. There was a deep rasp in her voice-she seemed more than dangerous. Scar quickly snapped out of this trance, and he crouched down.
"Pathetic fool," Luna growled as she rammed into him, but she dodged this easily. "Who's the fool now?" He smirked. Luna truly was faster than him, but she was drowsy. The rushing energy of battle sudden zapped through her. She really loved this feeling-as least mercy had she'd show. Scar had crouched back down, but Luna leapt onto his back, knocking the breath out of him. Not giving him a chance, her claws had already scorched down him back. Her sharp teeth sank into his neck, as he shook a bit, and let out a yowl so loud it woke up Swift.

"Your just a weakling," She growled, as this timber wolf was in too much pain to even talk back. Out of shock, he flipped over, crushing Luna under his weight. As the she-wolf jerked to the side, her massive frontpaws slammed at his shoulderblades, her claws digging into his skin. They pierced through his flesh, as he winced. Swiftly, Luna yanked back to dodge a hefty blow of his paw. "Bring it on, doggy." She spat, full of energy.
Of course, the he-wolf's yowl had waken Swift up-they weren't far.

perking her ears in her sleep, she thought she heard a loud yowling noise in the forest.
in her sleep she just thought.
maybe its just one of those pack wolves that gotten a thorn in their paw..
curling tighter to keep warm, she heard the same yowl again, this time she woke up.
''luna?'' she said looking at the spot she had slept in.
''luna! that pack better know what their dealing with!'' swift yelled with rage bolting into the forest.
oh please let luna be safe, i would never forgive myself if i let my friend get hurt!
after a little while of running, swift seen a black dot standing in the forest.
that must be luna, she looks alright, but.. who howled? she thought a bit confused.

after swift had almost reached luna, she seen that her friend has a wolf pinned to the ground.
a timber wolf, swift had never seen one before, only half wolves, which were in past packs she was in, mostly leashed dogs that left the safety of their humans.
when swift was closer to them, she called.
''luna? are you alright, i got worried when i heard a howl of pain come from here'' she said sighing.
at least she's alright... she thought with relief, and she was curious on who she had pinned.
''who is this you got pinned to the ground? and are any of that wolf pack around?'' swift asked.

The black she-wolf turned her head to Swift, that crazed, deadly look in her eyes. Swift had seen this before- Luna had been fighting. She woofed coldly. "This is part of the pack," As the he-wolf threw her off and crushed her by his back. Luna spat and flipped him over, slammed her claws at his left eye. He let out a yowl, Luna grumbled as she ripped her claws ruthlessly out of his eye, and pinned him down by his wrists. As the more he struggled, the harder Luna dug in. He struggled so much, that this timber wolf was surprised Luna had this much strength.

He smirked as he saw Luna's weak spot, and threw her off. Swiftly, her lunged at Swift. The black she-wolf let out a screech and rammed into his flank, her posterior whacking at a tree. Ignoring the ache, Luna screeched her claws down his flank, with so much rage that it oozed with blood. "You are weak and pathetic," she grumbled, as he sank his teeth into Luna's stomach. Luna winced as small liquids as blood dripped out of her abdomen. Luna grumbled, and flipped the pack-wolf over. She scorched her claws down his spine, as he was paralized. "I see no else in your weak excuse of a pack. Your precious alpha is dim-witted and pathetic, apparently more than I thought."
Luna snapped as she trotted away.

just standing where she was, she was stunned with both shock and confusion.
what.. just happened... she thought.
looking down at the paralized pack wolf, she just gave a warning.
''never challenge me or my friend again.. you will regret it'' swift snarled.
walking after luna, she just ignored what she thought was that timber wolves glare.
next time i will be awake before anything bad actually happens... swift thought for a bit.

''luna, you alright? why would that pack wolf try to challenge you?'' she asked after catching up with her.
it was strange that a timber wolf challenged her, but a pack wolf?
not like it was swift in the middle of that fight.
though swift was almost attacked without a warning.

Luna shrugged as they exited the forest area. "That pack-wolf was from the pack that wanted us to join," she growled a bit but sat down under the willow tree at the pond. It was no longer snowing, the grass was wet and the lake's former ice was very thin and shattered. There were few scratches and bite marks at her, but nothing serious.

"His dim-witted alpha sent him to challenge me, to show how strong they were and thought we'd beg to join them." Luna grumbled, as her tail coiled around her forepaws. "He was pathetic. Their pack is worse than I thought."
Luna nodded at Swift, and continued. "He's only lucky I showed mercy. If I was in a worse mood, i'd of killed him."

''well i gave him a warning, if he challenges you again or me, he will regret it'' swift said in a bitter tone.
she wasn't about to let that pack wolf.
''next time, let me know when you go hunting, you had me really worried'' she sighed.
majorly worried... after hearing that lump of a timber wolf yowled i thought she was hurt.. she thought.
its bad enough having to run away from those pack wolves, but one challenging her friend?
not a chance, not while swift was around.

Luna shrugged. "You seemed really peaceful sleeping." Luna did know better, how Swift had never seen her try fighting. Against what she called a wimp like that, she could dominate, without a bite nor scratch. This pack-less she-wolf was a master of fighting, when she was a pup she had been found by two ruthless wolves. They were mates and took Luna in like their own. Even day, they had taught her the most dangerous fighting moves, beyond an alpha's mind.

The he-wolf had killed his mate out of rage, and one day Luna woke up next to him, he was dead. Which left Luna by herself, but she was truly wild and ruthless. She spent two moons with a pack, than left and met Swift.
Her fighting... She'd been going pup-easy for moons. Luna stayed silent as the sun setted, the sky colored with waters of golden, blended with red. She stayed silent until the stars were up and crawled back under the log, to stay with a sleepless night. She was always like this after battles, which battles were a rare occasion.

falling asleep, swift had troubled dreams from her old pack days.
twitching and mumbling in her sleep, she just couldn't wake up and end the dream.
''gah!'' swift yelped leaping to her paws looking around.
ugh... why must i have these dreams! she thought to herself.
walking towards the pond, she dipped her head down and got a cold drink of the water sending a cold chill down her throat.
shivering she went back and curled up falling back asleep.

Luna had shuffled a bit and nudged Swift. "You okay?" Luna sounded like she had been wide awake for hours; which was true. She couldn't sleep. She nodded curtly and muttered, her nose barely touching Swift's ear. "I'm going hunting..." her bushy, ebony tail lashed, as it glimmered under the half-moon.
This time, she headed near the plaids, and the hilly parts. She'd was a bit tired of the forests.
The pack, that timber wolf... She needed a break from that place.
Her strengthened legs trembled a bit as her pads crunched on the damp, dusty floors. She left a trail of dirt-dust behind her, as she sniffed for any kind of prey... A familiar scent hit her, one that she hadn't sniffed out in a long time. Yak. She jumped with energy, but she knew she couldn't take one down by herself.

She dashed by to swift, and nudged her so hard it nearly flipped her over. "Come on!" She squealed and brought her to the plaids, but close enough to see the wild yak. There was only one, and Luna suddenly knew that she was very hungry. She and Swift hadn't eaten in about four days.
"Well... Your the hunter here. Whats your plan?" She dropped into a whisper and crouched down on the rocky floor, her stomach barely touching the grounds.

''to tell the truth... i've never really hunted yak before..'' she said pinning her ears back.
she looked at the huge beast of a yak, actually unsure of what to do for once.
laying down on her belly, she just put her muzzle on her paws.
''i've only hunted deer all the way down to mice, that's all, never a yak...'' she wimpered and covered her face with her paws.

Luna chuckled. "Just pretend its a really, really big deer." Her tail sweeped against the ground, as her pale amber eyes stayed on the yak. "I can try a very offensive plan, but...." She shrugged. "I get in front of it an distract it, and you sneak behind it and slam your teeth into its neck, focus on the sides of the neck..." Luna hesitated. "They're not too bright, so we'll lead it into that mountain cliff somehow, and I guess make it slam into it aswell."
She hesitated a bit more. "I'll damage its neck, but avoid the horns." Luna than noticed it was only a young yak, so this would be easy. "Its young, too. Though its parents are bound to come soon, so we've gotta be quick."

snickering swift stood up.
''well, quick is one of my special talents'' she grinned widely.
following what luna had said, she was about ready to spring.
this shouldn't be to hard- oh no, that better not be the young yaks parents! swift thought with cold fear.
''luna! i think we better get going... right now!'' she said running over to luna.
she pointed to the older looking yaks.
''i think the parents are back! we need to go, now'' she wimpered.

"Quick. Focused. Balanced." Luna grunted simply. "Plus I don't do fear." She dashed forwards and rammed into the younger yak, tackling it over. The parents tried to dash back, but these she-wolves were too quick. "Haul it back to the lake!" She screeched and began to pull it by the feet. The parents began to run so fast, they fell.

Luna and Swift managed to silence this yak, as they ate very well. Luna flopped under the willow tree, stuffed. She groaned, but satisfied. "I haven't eaten this well in moons!" Luna exclaimed. "How'd you like it?" She turned to Swift.

Luna chuckled a bit from how fast Swift had fallen asleep. Of course, she was wide awake and packed with energy.I'll take a quick walk, she thought. Swift wouldn't mind now, would she?
The black she-wolf went to walk in the forests. As she padded further, she bumped into a grey pup. "Chip!" Luna had nearly jumped with surprise. Chip whined. "You need to join our pack, your friend too!" His father probably made him do this, but my soft side isn't so strong Luna grumbled in her head as she nudged Chip.
"Chip, its best if we don't. You need to go back now." Chip whined again. "But..." Luna scooped him up by his scruff and he stayed silent until she reached the pack. The alpha grinned. "I knew you'd come back to..." Luna interrupted him, her woof cold. "I came to return your pup. You are a pathetic alpha and i'll never join your sorry excuse for a pack." The alpha looked surprised, as if he'd been worshipped his life.
Luna dropped Chip, but he growled and tried to scratch Luna. "Don't talk to my leader like that!" Chip growled. Luna sighed. She had lost all the respect in this pack, except for maybe Star. "I could shred your leader to pieces if I wanted to...."

Luna woofed coldly, her heart for this pup was utterly gone. "And you too." The pup whined in shock, and scampered back to his surprised father. As Luna ran back to Swift, she plopped next to her and fell to sleep. As Luna woke up on an early dawn, she shifted a bit.
In less rage, she sighed a bit. A young pup like Chip should never face that life-threating level of fear. The shocked look in his eyes... His fathers' as well. Luna nudged Swift awake and told her everything that had happened. From the beginning to the end, Luna told the complete truth, without missing anything.

She sighed and crawled out into the frosty grounds, and shook out her sleek, black coat of fur.

''i didn't think chip would actually try finding you out in the woods, and they still want us to join? no way'' swift muttered shaking her thick coat out from the frost on the ground.
why does that pack want us to join so badly? its not like that pack is low on pack members she thought.
swift didn't want to join any pack that tried to force her and luna to join.
''anyway... what do you want to do? there isn't much to do around here'' she asked after a while.

Luna shrugged. "Chip's father had probably forced him to find us."
She sighed. "Battle practice, I guess?" Luna grumbled. The truth was, she'd always go easy on Swift. Swift just didn't know it.

''hmm... i've been practicing my battling a lot... how about a race..?'' swift said grinning.
a good race will help stretch my legs after sleeping on my back for so long she thought.
stretching and shaking her coat out again, she was about ready to race.
''first one to the top of that hill wins, simple enough right? on the count of three...'' she said looking to luna.
grinning, swift howled, ''three!'' she said running at full speed.

Luna sighed and flopped on her side. She just wasn't in the best mood, and it wasn't about Chip. She really was ruthless enough to threat a pup like that. She shrugged, and slipped away to the plaids-where Swift couldn't see her. She had gone enough or Swift not to notice where she'd went, but she knew Swift would notice soon enough. Luna shook out her messy, black pelt. It was fairly warm for a winter, and Luna plopped on a heat rock. She had warmed up by heat, but none by mood.
Next time that pack sends out a wolf- even a pup- to challenge me, i'll kill them... Except for maybe Star... Luna grumbled in her mind. She just let out a screech of rage, her amber eyes going into that level of complete anger... It could've been scary if anyone were around. She had run far enough for Swift not to hear her.

Her claws slammed at the ground, digging through the dry dirt easily. her tail was lashing violently, as if she had just killed a whole entire pack without mercy. Her lip curled enough for her top gums to show, her deadly, bloodstained teeth seemed to almost pierce in a neck, without even doing it. The anger sprowled out of her, as she collapsed on the heat rock. What is wrong with me, Luna sighed. She could feel the massive pumps in her heart, as she sighed.
Swift would find her eventually. The strong breeze of wind tangled through her fur...

Her glimmering, pale amber-brown eyes gazed up at the dim, faraway sun. The sky was a pale blue, as if it had been drained with color. The clouds were especially white and fluffy today, but there weren't many. Luna sighed as one seemed to almost pass through the sun. Luna had just noticed; she had passed farther than she and Swift have even done before, and took a strange turn.

Gazing down the tall rock she was on, she saw a herd of... Antelopes? Luna was getting lucky today, but she had to be fast to catch these creatures of prey. Her messy, ebony pelt was still, along with her tail as she stealthily crouched down the path. Her flank pressed against a tall rock, as the antelopes were just eating some grass. It wasn't very grassy here, just a few patches. Now was the perfect time, to pounce at the antelope that was nearest. It was only two wolf-tails away! She'd get a good meal with this, and Swift would be pretty happy.

Now was the time. To stop hesitating, and mark it. This was probably the plumpest antelope in the herd, and the slowest, from what she could guess. Luna needed to pounce. Now. Luna let out a poorly-aimed pounced at the deer, barely missing it. She had remained her grip with her claws, and bowled it over to the ground. The other antelopes had run in fear, as Luna remembered; they were defenseless, and not very loyal on that mark.

This prey is going to be good and easy, Luna cheered to herself and ripped her teeth at the antelope's neck. It butted its legs, sending Luna off balance, but the she-wolf quickly regained it. Luna's claws dug into its head, and slammed it down on the ground, as her back claws had rammed into its back. The antelope grew weaker and weaker, and Luna gave a final bite to its neck. The job had been done.

Luna hauled it back to Swift, and slammed it on the grass. "I got food." She tried to hold back a light chuckle, but failed.
