But it's not abandoned! I have news, in fact So the gist is after falling in with an entirely new crowd i've picked up a whole bunch of projects, we all know how much i love to overwork myself to a comedic amount. So i'll give some examples real quick -drawing [most] abnormalities in lobotomy corporation -designing my own abnormalities [including gear] and employees for a new project i'm working on -obviously still gotta make refs for old ocs... -maybe work on some funny sketchpages for species in my main world -I'm actually gonna be getting into cosplaying and attending conventions n stuff [ain't that neat??] Alongside the general fact i've just been enjoying relaxing and playing games with the friends i've surrounded myself with. Man's been chillin, really. "What does this mean for the future of death cats?" nothing. Except me taking more breaks because my other projects are incredibly fun to work on and also take a bit more time than putting some colors and patterns onto a pre-defined base, as well as the fact that there's not a lot on pokeheroes that I actively need. It's easy to forget about this place, sometimes. There will be some slight changes to the function of the species, though I'm planning on removing the baby stage, simply because they take too long to make for the fact that they, well, do not last very long. The lore behind the baby stages can remain existent, but I'll probably only make them on request if someone really wants them - and probably not for free mind you. They're not the most fun. I will probably [no guarantee] be releasing some of the "???" functions when the shop is officially open next. It has undergone absolutely zero testing but hey, consider it a public beta of sorts because if i keep leaving it to myself uh. Nothing's gonna happen. My plan is to do some stuff for myself, and maybe reopen the species next month. I may not have kept to my word and haven't actually worked on the events I skipped out on and y'know what - the fault lies within me. My motivation for death cats just spontaneously dropped and i was like "Oh" but my brain's been thinking of it more recently so I thought I'd update ya'll. I'm uh, sorry for those that have been waiting an incredibly long time for designs and may have thought i've abandoned this place. I haven't. As of this moment in time, working on Death Cats is feeling a bit draining. I'm just gonna leave a note to come back and roll from here at some point in the future. This isn't me closing the shop indefinitely, and I'll still try to get the valentines event done even if the timeframe of it is cut down from a month to two weeks or something, but there's absolutely zero guarantees. I've found a really fun game i play with my friends, it's fun, im enjoying it, so i kinda want to take a step back from "work" and enjoy myself a little. This isn't me saying I'll never make death cats again, I know i've still got a lot to do. But hey, doesn't everyone need a break now and then? Being a one man show [with a slight hand here and there] is fun and all but god can it be really mentally taxing. It is what it is, though, I'm fully aware of what I signed up for. I know I'll come back to this place even if I skip over an event or two. But trust me, you won't have to wait a year to see an event again, even if I do skip over it, and I'll still work on the assets for the next full run of events to make it even easier on me. Might even do some things as a reward for being patient with my nonsense, some extra things that I wouldn't normally do [something similar to the event pairings but normal designs? finally opening breeding slots? boosts, rewards, etc?]. I just struggle working on things long-term sometimes, get burnt out, need a break. And my friend keeps reminding me to prioritise my mental health over anything else, so I guess that's what I'm doing. I may delay the start of the Valentine's event by a couple of days. I may have got a little sidetracked which leads me to feeling like I don't have enough time - but this is just a light possibility - I'll consider the event "start-able" if I get around 6 designs done to sell, the event breeding studs + all the main banner graphics. As with all events I'll announce the moment they start here in the forum. I'm sorry for being, well, so easily distracted. I've found some people that share a rarer interest of mine so we've been hanging out n stuff. Related to this event, however, I do have a question! You're free to answer through palpad/DM/the other forum here, whichever you prefer. How do you feel about eggs from one event being able to hatch with mutations from another event? Obviously, you can't get the potions for each event outside of that event, but I was thinking say - A Valentine's design with the bow back from Christmas for a wrapped box of chocolates look, for example. It won't be a common occurance, either. Just a "Oh I think this one'll look good" - and they're all the same rarity anyway so it's not like I'm gonna be giving random designs "rarer" mutations. Yeah, instead of working on my to-do list I decided to doodle up some mutations and I got 10 new mutations and 2 redrawn ones for ya here! I sent this with the results yesterday, but... Your death cats don't have 2 energy. They don't have a double regen potion applied and the event boost ended a while back, now. They only have 1 energy so can only do 1 exploration each. [Read more] |

Note: These numbers may not be 100% accurate Total Explorations Sent: 1591 Total Event Potions found during Explorations: 355 Total Skull Fragments found during Explorations: 29 Normal Potions Found [Special Boosts]: 64 Total Event Pairings: 8 [counting those that have yet to be made] Not counting designs that are yet to be made/finalised, but counting ones that are still growing up, so far there are a total of 85 designs distributed between all of the users involved in the species! [including my own] If I were to clear out my to-do list of designs that would make it a total of 96 designs - we're nearly at 100! For the meantime, though, I'm gonna take a little bit of a days break before seriously working back into things. Got the whole Valentine's event to prepare! Happy new years! and I hope you all enjoyed the event! You guys' continued support of me and my effort means a lot to me, it really does. On a serious note, there's some things I am going to address/change going forward. In future events I'm planning on lowering the potion drop chance originally I made the event lootpools "nicer" than the normal ones - I'm realising now that considering events last a month, that isn't really necessary and in future events I'll bring the lootpools on par with the normal explorations. I want potions to be accessible, but hopefully not in excess. In the future I'll also be opening the Event Pairings in cycles, to try to stop me from getting flooded with requests like I was at the start of the event. I sincerely regret not being able to do more pairings for you guys, this event, but it was a really busy month for me, hopefully I won't have this issue again, but we'll see how life plays out. If there is anything further I feel the need to say, obviously I'll just announce it and let you guys know what's going on/what's changing and why! This reset is the last day of the double energy boost, and so from now onwards energy has returned to the usual +1 - as always you're free to ask me if you're unsure on the energies of any/all of your Death Cats if you're ever unsure! Event Explorations + Potions are gonna stick around until 31st December 23:59 - at which point the event will be over and everything will go back to normal! I've got a lot of useful data from this event that I can hopefully put towards other events to make things easier for me, and therefore faster for you guys in the future. I apologise for the fewer designs released this month, December is a really busy month for me and I may have bitten off a bit more than I could chew with everything going on, but I hope you guys enjoyed the event either way! As a result of it being Christmas, a few boosts will be enabled, for multiple days! They'll end 23:59 on the 27th, site time, so you'll have 3 full days to make the most of them! -Normal potions can be found in the event area -Every user can claim 1 random C/UC/R/E potion per day -Skull fragment chances are doubled -Level 10 stamina -+5 luck The double energy at reset boost will END once these boosts do! Once the 28th hits, all Death Cats will go back to receiving +1 energy at reset [unless double regen potions are applied to them] Later today I will also be doing an egg drop! It's only a normal-sized one [I've been busy, and recently fell kinda sick which limited my ability to produce the amount of designs I was originally aiming for] but I hope you can enjoy it nonetheless!
