Ignoring the shiny Gyarados I'm sure many caught back when gen 2 first came out, my first ever shiny was a Rattata I caught in a Nuzlocke run of FireRed. This being after I'd already played through Pokémon Black. 5 generations and not a single (non-scripted) shiny before that moment. I've never been one for shiny hunting, and I guess that proves I shouldn't since I don't seem very lucky with them.

(As a side note, I caught that shiny Rattata right after my original Rattata 'died' early in the run. She lasted all the way to Cinnabar Island before getting wiped out by a critical hit Explosion from a Weezing in the Pokémon Mansion.)

My favourite pokemon will probably always be Charizard. I just can't let that childhood dream go from when pokemon was first released, having your very own dragon you could fly through the skies with (despite Charizard at the time being unable to learn Fly, and the fact they're only 5'7'' and definitely unable to carry me now as an adult). Charizard is just steeped in nostalgia for me, as I'm sure others will agree, and it's a big part of what's kept my interest in pokemon to this day.

One of my favourite shinies is also Charizard, as well as Mega Charizard Y. I dunno, they just look cool in black. (Totally not the main colour in my wardrobe.) I also like Metagross' shiny. Looking like it's made of gold and silver definitely gives it a more pseudo-legendary feel.

The pokemon I'm most looking forward to finding is Terrakion. Definitely one of my favourite legendaries. My other is Entei, but I already know how to get the dogs (just need enough chips). I'd also like to find Pancham, Hawlucha, Mimikyu an Turtonator. I'm still learning about gen 6 and 7 and they just seem to be my favourite designs right now.
