Splatterscope? Rome turned her head quickly, spotting the list of current weapons. Sure enough, her main was right there, front of the list. And.. Oh, no. Close range weapons. Sure, she could use dualies with ease, but with those it was plenty easy to escape. With these ones.. She was terrible with brellas. So, she would just have to hope she didn’t get that one during the final wave.

Rome tripped over her own feet as she hurried into the square, slinging her charger over her shoulder as she did so. She’d visited Sheldon the previous day to ask for help and tips when it came to polishing her weapon, so it was cleaner than usual today.

Maybe Grizzco? She mused to herself. The shifts were tedious, but it was a really good way to meet new people. Squids. Octos. Whatever.

She narrowly avoided bumping into Riley, holding up her hands quickly in apology.

[If this is the last forum post I ever make on PH, I just want to tell everyone ever involved in this series that it’s been a blast. This series is the reason I’m semi-confident in posting my own art, since it gave me ideas for characters and personalities. So, to everyone who watched the characters grow, thank you. You guys gave me the confidence boost I needed to continue writing and drawing. This past year has been the most fun I’ve had roleplaying.

One day, maybe we can start a fresh series with old characters. But for now, maybe it’s time some of them took to their own paths.

I’m genuinely going to miss this. This series was such a huge part of my life, and I don’t think I would have survived freshmen year without having it to fall back on. But hey. When one door closes, another one opens, right?

You have my discord handle. My tumblr is here, though there is a high chance you’ll see swearing. My deviantart is here. Just in case you ever need to get in contact with me. I’ll be there. And I’ll still pop in on here every now and then.

So, from me and my characters, I want to say thank you. I’ll always be around if you ever need to talk. You can’t get rid of me that easily.

Mel smiled widely and nodded. “Gee, thanks.” She laughed, interlocking her fingers behind her head as she spoke. She turned to look at Lion, Robert, Colin and Connor. “Good luck, guys.” She said cheerfully. “Keep our disaster magnet alive, yeah?”

“Yeah,” Connor smiled. “I’m ready to go.” He added, rolling Vol’s pokeball in his hand.

Mel nodded. “Have fun. Come back soon, I’ve got gossip to share.”

Connor laughed. “Real soon,” He promised, green eyes sparkling playfully. “Can’t wait.”

The brunette lifted one hand to ruffle Connor’s hair with a snicker. “Take care.”

“Of course.” Connor flashed her a grin. “Okay. See ya.”

“Take pictures!” Mel added, waving.

Connor just laughed again, turning away from her as he tucked his hands into his pockets.

Yeah. How bad could it be? It could be fun. A nice break. Or maybe a new adventure? Guess there’s only one way to find out. Take a leap, huh?

“I’ll stay here.” Mel said cheerfully, though a new trace of nerves flickered in her eyes. “I’ll see what I can do about Kanto! I’m sure I can get someone to help.. There’s loads of cool Pokémon here, I’m sure we can do something.. Ehh.. I hope..”

Mel snapped her fingers. “I have a great plan! We just need an atomic bomb and also a map of their headquarters. We rig the bomb, blow up the base, save Mira, and live happily ever after!”

”That plan has more holes than these bandages do.” Riu said dryly, lifting his paw to point at the bandages covering his face. He was right, those were covered in tear marks and holes. (He refused to sit down and cooperate long enough to change them, but also refused to take them off? Nobody bothered at this point, it’s not like anything was getting infected. Probably.)

Mel stuck her tongue out. “Fine. Why not ask Frost? I’m sure he knows.”

“He’s literalky the definition of ‘bad guy’, Mel.”

“I don’t see you coming up with anything.”

Even if she won’t feel the same way, I don’t think it’ll affect your relationship. You two already act like an old married couple. Besides, you two are really tight. Nothing can break that sort of friendship.”

Connor, lips twitching as he attempted to contain his laughter, just nodding along with what everyone else was saying. He shot Lion a quick thumbs up in agreement before dropping his hand to his side again.
