Institute of the Unique, Talented, and Magical RP
Forum-Index → Roleplay → Institute of the Unique, Talented, and Magical RPThen the sorting abruptly ended. The students looked on expectantly, but it was clear there was no more to come. Athena Luminia Lediana had not been sorted.
"Now now, off to your dorms then. Go on, don't want to be late for the first day of lessons, do you?" The Headmistress made a shooing kind of gesture at the students. Reluctantly, they turned to go. "Miss Lediana, stay back a moment, will you?"
{House List:
Red and Yellow - The house dedicated to those noble and loyal with hearts of gold. They would be willing to sacrifice anything and everything if it means that their loved ones are safe. Always looking to do the greater good. Can seem slightly proud or stuck-up at times, or maybe the teacher's pet.
Blue and Green - The house of those who aspire to complete any challange or task at hand, No matter how difficult. They will climb to the top of the ranks even if it means they have to cheat sometimes. Usually calm and calculated, commonly found guilty behind many of the school 'scandals'.
Pink and Purple - The house of those with imaginative dreams. The members of this house are often found to be sleepy at times but that doesn't mean they dont have an undying passion for any form of art. There have been whispers that this house is for "petty little girls", but the members of this house have proven themselves many times over.
Black and White - The house of those who love the craft of music. The house itself is kind of a giant opera house, decked with many instruments that the students may use. Don't be fooled though, the rules here are extremely strict. Students practice deligerently, and many are apt at music related magic.

The real monsters don't look like monsters~
A few hours later...
Rei got up from his bed, feeling bad about the situation earlier. He decides to apologize to Amia, maybe that would work? Whatever. He started walking out of the house and into the main corridor that connects into the Greenhouse. He assumed that she was there and he was correct. Rei walked into the greenhouse and was about to say something before noticing that something was... off...
Amia seemingly was just playing in a patch of flowers but upon closer inspection, her eyes were... Grey and dull? No longer were they filled with life and joy like she normally was. Plus there wasn't even a smile plastered on... Just a dull emotionless face. There were some of her drawn butterflies surrounding her too, he could tell simply by their patterns but they too were grey and not sparkling in aura.
Amia then noticed Rei and all of a sudden, her eyes, face and butterflies were normal again. "Oh hey there Rei! Whatcha doing here?" She tried to say in a casual tone but He could tell that she was lying "Im.. Fine. Im here to apologize for what happened earlier. I know i should've left her alo-" "Oh its ok its ok! I forgive you lil bro! Also you shouldn't be apologizing to me you should be doing it to that girl earlier! What was her name again? oh yeah, Kaori! Yeah! Go to her insead ok? Ok byee~!" And with that Amia shoved him outside of the greenhouse and closed it shut. That was obviously not notmal Amia.

In Jack's time, she had whipped the {blue and greens} into shape, making them a force to be reckoned with. There was no more bullying, there was no more malicious pranking. They were one organized unit. Even though the teachers still didn't trust them, Jack hoped that someday her house would be recognized for their better qualities.
They were a hard working group of students, the {blue and greens}. She alone it seemed could see the glimmer of promise in each of them, the ghost of the best version of each soul. She knew them all by name.
They knew what she was capable of both on and off the dueling court, and they feared her. But most of all, they respected her. And that was all Jack cared about. If she was to be denied her dreams, at least she would help others achieve theirs.

My current RP work:
He watched the other {Red and Yellows} swarm about as he casually leaned on the wall, saying nothing. His thoughts were a swirl in his head.
Why {Red and Yellow}? I won't sacrifice things for people if it meant a worse situation for me. I can understand loyal, but I'm only loyal to one person... or corpse.
He turned and went back to his dorm.
I din't see anyone I can talk to that was sorted into mine... Jack and Kendo are in {Green and Blue}. They really are meant to be friends. I would give anything to have that sort of relationship again.
She took out her supplies and continued to color in her Dream Portrait.
The teachers's introductions were a joke. There had only been one person to challenge that ideal, but she had graduated years ago. So, Jack decided ruefully, it was up to her to make a difference. She stood, facing her housemates. The sudden motion was enough to stun them into silence.
"Listen up." She said.
They did.
"We are {blue and greens}. We are cunning, we are calculating, we are hardworking. These are our strengths, yet they are viewed as faults."
She had never done something like this before, but her housemates were nodding along.
"My name is Jack, and if you still don't know who I am, figure it out. The support and guidance our house is supposed to get from the professors is a joke. So here is the introduction speech you all deserve."
One could have heard a pin fall in the common room.
"First: work hard and do your best. As {blue and greens}, we need to be smarter, faster, stronger, and more well behaved, to get half as much recognition. We are the first house that comes to mind when something goes wrong. The teachers assume that those who came before us represent who we are. That is not true.
"Through my time at this... Institution... I have worked with you, the {blue and greens}, to repair our image. Finally, at long last, our classmates in other houses are recognizing our worth. We are no longer ostracized. The history of this house and its students is as great as it is terrible. Be prideful that you are a {blue and green}, even when it seems hard.
"To the first years: you are some of the best and brightest. Do not hesitate to ask for help. All who ask for help and acknowledge their shortcomings are to be respected. United we stand, divided we fall.
"Finally: learn. About your studies, your classmates, your friends and your rivals. The teachers, the campus, everything. He who knows thy enemy and knows thyself need not fear the result of a hundred battles. We are not enemies. But knowledge is still power. Thank you."
There was silence, and then applause. A chant of "{Blue and Green}" was quickly picked up. It spread through the common room like wildfire. There was no doubt that she was an amazing and dynamic orator, but they had been waiting for words like hers for a very long time.
Jackery Soot smiled. It was a smile of pride. Yet it was very similar to that of a predator.
She was dangerous.

My current RP work:
Atticus was fidgeting around watching the fish when he came to the realization. Jack was probably breaking down the doors of her group and motivating them to not be d*psh*ts.
He slammed open his door into the hallway and started yelling.
"Alright {red and yellow}, we are the underappreciated. When we sacrifice things, what do the others we sacrificed for call us? Rash? Selfish? Yeah. All of those things."
He took a deep breath.
"I'm going to assign myself sort of leader here. I am Atticus Redding, an Eighth year. I probably haven't spoken much the last seven years, but here I am. We sacrifice so many things, we are loyal. Even if we do not believe that these people are good, we stick by them, because we are loyal. We have seen things."
He caught his breath.
"Sorry for yelling. The other groups probably heard." His voice was calmer now. "I will lead you guys to be the best group there is. My mates in {blue and green}? Yup. Jackery Soot and that Kendo guy I guess. I know Jack has made quite an impression in this school, but this year, we will beat her. I won't bar you from doing pranks or anything, just... don't screw up."
He smiled and walked back into his dorm, finishing his little performance with a flourish of light and color with the closing of his door.
Eris smiled a little as she was sorted to {Pink and Purple}. She had read up a little on the houses of the Institute and she agreed that she fit into the house of {Pink and Purple}. Hopefully the other members were nice...

"Good Speech Att!"
He rolled up his sleeves, and walked right next to Atticus, and smiled kindly at the the others looking up at him in wonder, wondering where he came from, or how long was he in the shadows for watching them. Completely disregarding the questions they may have he spoke.
"Welcome First Year Newcomers! Im Ayran, and also an eighth year here, just like Att" He swept his glance at every first years. His gaze was firm, yet not over bearing, and it somehow made people want to trust him.
He looped his arms around Atticus's shoulders without warning, and took a deep-breathe.
"I won't make a long speech, but whatever Att says is correct."
As if the temperature did a 180, the room suddenly got quiet once again, people started getting more attentive, and Ayran gaze turned serious.
"We don't want to loose, [Blue & Green] this years have some hot-shots and it won't be easy to win, plus with the princess also joining the institute, it will be a tough battle.."
As Ayran continued, his voice rang through the room calmly, his face still held the gentle smile, but there was this seriousness that spoke that he wasn't joking, he continued on his speech, some parts he emphasized, while others were humorous, but overall, it hit may students hearts.
"Now, I hope that everyone will all try their best, and hold the honors of [Red & Yellow]! We will be victorious!"
He ended his speech, but it was his speech that started riling up the other students, soon passionate chants and small colorful fireworks blew in the room, incredibly festive.
Ayran removed his arm from Atticus, and smiled apologetically, "Sorry for taking your moment Att, but hey.."
He motioned towards the younger students, "Now their hearts lit on fire isn't it?"
Chants of '[Red & Yellow] shall be victorious!' filled the room, and Ayran just smiled silently.
"No kidding. I guess my last year here will be the only one I actually win something other than Academic Achievements. If their spirits are high, I guess soon someone will drench that flame."
Something... somewhere in Ayran's speech, Atticus heard "We will be victorious."
Don't spiral Atticus.
His head became lighter.
"One second... I just need to... sit down..."
He went into his room quickly and shut the door.
Sh*t. My time limit. There aren't any flowers here.
He glanced at the colorful fish.
Sorry buddy.
But what made him pause in thought was the fact that he wondered, how long at Atticus last like this? Absorbing color the last second, but what if one day he couldn't make it?
This made him frown, he tried to walk in the directions where Atticus left, but a swarm of younger student came to him, asking question.
Sighing inwardly, he could only brace himself, and put on a calm cover and answer the students questions, putting his worry in the back of his mind.
