She then finishes admiring the food Lean made for her and started to slowly eat it, taking in the savory flavor. She never had this food before, but she knew it was good. Thats all that matters.

Lean was thinking some time, watching them eat. She did have a replica of her old Cinematographé in her room, hidden, but... it was big and cumbersome to use. And the other cameras were inaccessible, so... she just let the moment sink in, smiling. She felt like a mother right now and was enjoying it.

You know the first rule in combat? shoot them before they shoot you.

Rei walked around the place. Nothing seemed that intresting... Its just a castle of course. As he was about to fly through a window and get out, he could hear some voices from the outside and then back into the castle slowly growing more fainter. Curious, he went back inside to investigate.

That’s not really what I’m worried about, he thought, but the sentiment made him feel better, somehow.

“Thanks.” His hand found hers and gave it a squeeze. “Did you know about the... attack? When I thought it was just training?”

He prayed he kept the bitterness out of his voice, but he couldn’t stop himself. “Did you just let me go, not knowing I’d die? Send me on a death match so you didn’t have to deal with telling me the truth? Did you just want to trap me like-“

He snapped his mouth shut. All that vitriol just poured out- he couldn’t stop himself.

“I... I just wanted to trust you.”

He stumbled back a few steps. “I just wanted to trust you-“

This time he couldn’t stop the tears.
