In the spur of the moment, Ace jumped and the sword stabbed his hand. The momentum made him stagger and almost trip. "oh, crud. Now why'd I do that?" The shadowy creature seemed to be laughing. "Once a knight, always a knight." The creature took the sword, Ace gasping and clutching his hand. "Now, anyone like to sacrifice themselves for their king?"
I have no friends due to the massive hole in my heart. Would you consider being the one to plug up the hole of feeling?

"Crud," mumbles Fleur. She looks and sees there's still a shield on the floor. She hurries over to Ace and hands him one. "Here. Though I may despise you, it's still part of my duty to help protect citizens.. even the most disloyal ones." She hurries back beside Telatana and holds up her shield.

Telatana groans again, the damage done to her and her powers fading are obvious, even for a blind person. Though she was not known for backing off easily, instead dragging her own damaged body in front of Ace. "Does this answer you question, you [EXPLETIVE]." ... now making her angry is something one fears. But making her curse is something nobody has managed prior.

He grimaces. He shook his head. He kicked his shield away and used his shadows to wrap it up he walked over to the shadow creature. Then, he,... kneeled. He bowed his head. He griited his teeth and choked out, "My lord. Spare this human. Take my life for his."
I have no friends due to the massive hole in my heart. Would you consider being the one to plug up the hole of feeling?

"Some brave guy." Fleur thinks. "Aha, no no no. I'm not watching anyone die like this. I mean, come on. You're not seriously considering dying like this, are you? I mean, if you're going to say bye-bye to the world, at least do it fighting." Her voice is sassy, almost as if she's taking this as a joke.

"Strangely, I agree with Fleur this time." Telatana nods, pulling him back and smiling, blood pouring out of her mouth. "You don't even have the power or smarts to finish us, so why should we listen to the dark coward?" Even with injuries, blood loss and broken bones, she still found the courage to talk. Even sassier than usual too.

Ace shakes his head, still leaving his neck open. "No. I'm past fighting. I came as a jester to erase my memories as a knight. This night (no pun intended) I can't go back to that." The shadow creature chuckled. "Hmmm... I won't kill you. Just..." It snapped and Ace walked to it's side, eyes blank.

"Honestly, can we be quick with this drama? I feel my consciousness slowly drifting but so does my patience, giving you only a 50/50 chance of walking out in one piece. And I mean either of you." She groans, using two fingers to point at both Ace and the creature. Then she whispered to Fleur, eyes not averting. "I think he's ready to depart. When you see he does, go for Ace and pull him back to us."

Fleur nodded. "Look, if you guys are gonna be taking up our time like this, at least make it useful. I mean, come on. You expect me to be scared of this creature who's so afraid of being found that they mask themselves?" Fleur says it with a smirk on her face. Definitely not what you'd expect from a duchess. She yawns and adds, "Can we be done now?" perfectly innocently.

The creature snickered. King Jax looked at it. "Get away from my jester." The thing kicked King Jax in the ribs and sent him flying to Teletana's feet. The two, Ace and the creature started walking away, the people in the grand hall petrified.

And anyways, shadowed creature, why are you hiding away? Are you scared? Hm?" Fleur gives King Jax a look that says "You really don't want to get in the middle of this" and mocks the shadowed creature.

The creature lets out a sigh. "Humans. Always so very rude." Then, a swirl of darkness appeared in front of them.

Telatana whispered something under her breath, followed by two hands forming under her feet and launching her injury-ridden body onto Ace, as she attempts to pull him back. "Ace, you humourless jester! Snap out of this moronic Scharlatans' control! He's not only evil but also an absolute maroon!"

Telatana was in too weak of a state to react normally. All of her pain receptors were currently active, blood flowed out of her mouth and arm and she knew she was on borrowed time. So, still holding onto Ace, she used what remaining power was left of hers and just gave him an uppercut with her intact arm. Nothing shadowy or fancy, a simple yet surprisingly powerful jab into his chin. "Snap out of it already... jester." Now almost at her end, she let go of Ace, dropping to the floor, panting heavily in her own puddle of blood.

Ace swallowed and a sword appeared in his hand. He raised it above Telatana, but swings it around, catching the shadow creature's body. The shadows retreated and the creature's true self appeared. She was a surprisingly pretty girl, but angry as heck. Ace tried to match her glare with his, but failed with a scared glance. The woman summoned some shadows and pinned King Jax to the wall. "Terrible humans..."
