He grunted slightly in his sleep, the tip of his tail lashing on the ground, a sign of wanting to be alone. Jax wasn't mean, but he would snap at whoever disturbed his rest.

Ally jumped back in surprise, not expecting Alice to show up. "Y-Yeah, I'm good." She seemed calmer than earlier, pretty relieved too.

Jax seemed to be more at peace now once he was really asleep.

She nodded, sitting down on the ground a bit. "I-I was just wondering," Ally asked, "were you ever curious why I decided to come here..?"

Alice shrugged. "When you first came, I was in one of my mood swings, so I didn't really think at all. Later, I was curious, but I was having too much fun driving Jax crazy to ask.

Alice was quiet for a moment. She had no memories of being alive save her time in Wonderland, so she wasn't sure how to respond. Finally, she said" They won't hurt you here...We can keep you safe, all of us monsters."

Jax crossed his arm, huffing slightly. He then slithered close to Ally and asked, "You feeling better..?"

She nodded, giggling again. Ally felt relaxed being with them than before when she was with her parents instead.

The Unknown was nowhere to be seen, but a loud sound shot through the house, a set of three "vwaviv" sounds ringing out from the ceilings. The house creaked rather loudly, and movement was heard. Something broke in the distance with a loud crack.

The Unknown watched Alice approach, then lowered itself from the ceiling of the ballroom. It's blindfold had a subtle glow to it, lit from behind by the empty eye sockets that lay there. One of the stairways had broken and collapsed, crashing through the floor and into a cellar, one that not even the Unknown had seen or senses before. The creature emitted a low humming sound, which intensified and does off every few seconds.
