This theme for this time was to make a sweet lemonade. WITHOUT using Heaven berries. Why? Because, the primary berry to making a famous lemonade in Luminia was to use Heaven berries. When juiced, the berry would yield a naturally sweet and fizzy nectar of sorts. A natural lemonade…
This prize this time was a crate of Heaven Berries from the Orchard. This creates a buzz as Heaven berries while also tasting sweet, is also a powerful restorative. A powerful restorative to a fair number of ailments. Almost immediate relief.
On this day. There were many pokemon preparing for this contest. Hiro the Mewtwo was said to be entering. He didn’t have much confidence but he wanted to try his best. He had come runner up in a contest with a similar prize in the past. He just said it was luck.
The definite favourite to win was Summer the Leafeon. She was the café owner and had studied the works of making drinks since her childhood and had spent years studying flavour combinations to make sure they were perfect.
The judges of the contest were various people who were randomly picked, as well as some actual connoisseurs of the kingdom. Blade was among those randomly picked this year…
“What did I get myself in to…”
Blade was a very honest pokemon, sometimes coming off as harsh and blunt. But he always meant well, and was very kind and helpful to younger pokemon. Qualities like this meant he could be a very fair judge, not letting bias get in the way. And he has had to judge before in the past…and each time he questioned himself what he was getting himself into. He was recognised as a hero of Luminia, after saving the floating kingdom from the large threat that came from beyond the skies.
Now. There was a contestant this year who was hoping to win, and stand above them all. Ah, but she wasn’t the type to throw anyone under the bus in order to get there. She was too nice for that. In fact, it was more likely that it would be the other way round where she would be the one to get taken advantage of or be sabotaged, due to her forgiving nature.
This kind soul was Mamoru, a kind Gardevoir who was another citizen to the kingdom. Like Blade, she was also recognised as a hero for her contribution to saving the kingdom. But all of that was behind her now…she has gotten off the high of being the hero.
Now came the day where she began practicing of making the lemonade. She knew it had to be sweet of course, and the lemonade she knew all to well was sweet too. But how to work around the fact that they can’t use Heaven Berries?
She looked in her little fridge where she kept the berries chilled and fresh. To her dismay, she only had a few berries left… Of course, she hadn’t been down to the shops this week yet.
But then she realised she had another option. One that could help bring her victory.
She hadn’t used her pass to the Heavenly Orchard yet.
In the past, there was some that were extremely serious about the event, that would deliberately time their visits to coincide with the cooking contests. But that soon limited by spreading out the contests in a certain way. So, all the contestants would have a fair chance with the orchard.
She heaved a sigh as she picked up a basket and headed to the Heavenly Orchard
