Bump.

I just got this task today.

Is this enough proof that the system is so broken that it NEEDS to be looked into?

Oh, and in case you're wondering, there are no R7+ Enigmas for sale.

Before you say "Just stock up!" that doesn't work.
- The higher your berry level, the higher the requirement in tasks.
- If a lvl 5 Enigma berry takes 23 to grow (after first watering and on Medium soil), and every level of Enigma berry increases growth time by 2 hours..
- At level 100, it would add another 95 x 2 hours to total growth time.
- It would take almost 9 days for that sucker to grow, although the time would be shortened by regular watering.
- Even if you were to be extremely generous and cut that down to 2 days overall, that's still unacceptably long.
- In this instance, there is no such thing as "just stock up." You would have to "just stock up" for months to cover some of these ridiculous costs.

When will we accept that the system is broken and that it shouldn't punish you for progressing? It's been 3 years since this thread has been ignored.

Does someone need to max every reasonable berry to prove a point?

So what would fix this? Properly incentivizing leveling berries AND leveling up in general.

1) Make higher leveled farmers get better quality item rewards. There are so many items in the game! At the truly higher end of the level spectrum, perhaps even sought-after items! There could be different tiers of potential rewards as your level goes up! The only problem I can see is loot bloat.
1a) This could potentially be an area where we give player agency by allowing them the choice to take on different
requests from different people and shift up the loot table. Or perhaps a weekly rotation. Both ideas sound pretty
amazing!

2) Basic-level re-tune of the bulletin task requirements should be done. I'm not sure what the scaling is, but it can get pretty bad. Even worse? The PD rewards aren't even that good. Reducing the scaling can help alleviate these issues. It's a simple tuning suggestion. Just a numbers fix. Putting in a hard-cap on the upper end of the scaling range would future-proof this.
2a) While simple, this reduces on quantity issues, such as requiring as many as 90 or more of any battle item. Player satisfaction goes up when there's no unreasonably-huge costs to deal with! And there'll be no sizeable impact on the economy.
---

So with that said,
There'sstill the issue of leveling berries not feeling worthwhile.
There's also the issue of bulletin tasks scaling with your current berry level.
And since berry levels increase the growth time..

What you get is a recipe for player dissatisfaction! No wonder Berrygarden is so unpopular!

We need to make leveling berries feel better. We do that by giving an actual incentive.

---

3) Leveling berries should be good on its own. The only reason you'd ever want to level up your berries is for crafting costs and for bulletin task requirements. Your total berry yield doesn't go up when you level berries. As you go up in "level brackets" for berries, the growth time goes up at the same rate your garden-to-bag ratio goes up. In other words, you still get the same amount of berries no matter the level when you consider the amount of time it takes to grow. Berries-per-minute stays the same.

Sooo.. Let's fix it! We can't demolish the berry economy on the main site (as I recall, that was a concern of the respective minor update post), so increasing the yield is out. That leaves one other point of major dissatisfaction: Growth times. Simple. Lower the growth time! It's a feature that would only really be evident in berries that aren't green-star, but it would be an incredible help! It would incentivize leveling berries and give a bit more leeway to the restrictive timers some tasks are bound to have in a scaling system.

3a) It should be noted that if berry times were to be lowered with level, it would make leveling easier the higher level you go. This is backwards. To complement this, one could add a system where berry levelups are less common as the level rises. This could get frustrating for the player, but outside of implementing a whole new system (Off the table, I know), this is the only thing I can think of. Incentivizing leveling berries and rewarding doing so is much better, and makes the lowered leveling chance worthwhile (as long as the numbers aren't downtuned into the extreme).

3b) And with these changes, we fixed the issue of berry leveling being a detriment, as well as bulletin tasks being impossible/painful to do at a certain point.
---

Oh, one more thing:

4) Remove red-star berries from bulletin tasks, or severely tune down their requirements. Unless #3 is implemented, they will never be viable in bulletin tasks. Purple stars kinda push the envelop a bit too.

Oh, one more other thing:

5) Remove raw Moomoo Milk and Honey as requirements for berrygarden tasks. There's no way to speed up production on either of these. Players shouldn't be stifled like this. It ain't right. Both of these already have to be spent on Shakes and various other recipes. It's just unnecessary and is always requested in disproportionally huge amounts.

About the "Red Berries <-> Bulletin Board" synergy.

I think an easy temporary solution, before someone comes up with a real big update, could be to automatically increase theese tasks time limit to 7 or 8 days. Speaking from a point where I have Red Berries on LV 100 and seeing that they have growth times of like 2-2,5 days, depending on the gardens fertility (not speaking of the doomed garden #3), that should already help a lot.

Also... BUMP!!!

support!

besides me thinking that Berrygarden needs a huge overhaul everywhere (being tedious and unrewarding for the first 30 levels, then tedious and slightly rewarding after that, or having terrible UI when you have 10000 berries and 100000 levels of each berry to scroll through, or having to cook drinks manually or--)

its after reading this thread that I avoid levelling my berries too much, and reject as many tasks as possible (to avoid levelling too quickly), to reduce the odds of being given unreasonable tasks. but really, any system that encourages not progressing isn't made well

earlier suggestions of having multiple items as rewards would be greatly appreciated (e.g. multiple gems, possibility for mega stones, mystery boxes/keys as rewards, a few super honeys... there's a lot of options)

also more item rewards should be introduced before garden level 30 to make the bulletin board have better scaling, as most item rewards only appear regularly after garden level 30

Title: New functional Recipe

What about an item that can be cooked and afterwards used to immediately give new tasks at the Bulletin Board?

Ingredients could be LV 100 Berries. For example:
50x Persim Berry LV 100
25x Shuca Berry LV 100
10x Starf Berry LV 100
5x Rowap Berry LV 100

Maybe a cooking time of 1 hour.

It could be a somewhat prestige/rare/exotic Berry Juice or if you add base ingredients as flour or milk it could also be a cookie or galette or whatever would drag people to the Bulletin Board. The receipe could unlock with your first LV 100 Berry.

Thoughts on it? It would certainly be terribly hard to get and you couldn‘t produce super much on your own, but it could also add some flavour to the good old garden in my opinion.

Wasn't aware of the tasks getting that much harder with your level now that makes me not even want to increase my level beyond what it is... the feature definitely needs a look at.
