Bracken froze, his breath catching in his throat. Oh crud, the Poochyena had noticed him. But... how does she know I'm here? he thought in confusion. Just a moment ago, she was so focused on... doing whatever it was she was doing. Did I make too much noise approaching or something? Bracken shook his head; no, he was sure he had been completely silent. Maybe she just had more sensitive ears...

He could see that the Poochyena was on her guard, though. The least he could do was show her that he wasn't a threat. Taking a deep breath, he retreated back to the trunk of the tree, climbed down a little, and jumped on a lower (but high enough that she couldn't get to it, he hoped) branch. With no cover around to hide him, his tail twitched nervously. Please don't let this be a stupid decision. I've made enough of those today.

"Um, hi." he said.

Damian looked around the forest. What a cosy place. he thought rather appreciatively and carried on walking. Damian jumped back when he heard something shoot up but figured that it was some distance away since it didn't show itself and attack him. "Phew..." he sighed.

Crystal's ears twitched when she heard movement in the trees. Crystal smirked a little and said "You know just tricking a Treecko that I think just moved in the trees." Crystal giggled remembering his anger and smiled at the Glameow. "Oh are you okay? It seemed like you fell from kind of high. By the way my names Crystal," she said knowing she was fine.

Ah, she had been right. There had been a creature in the trees. It looked like a rather skittish Treecko as well.
Lunaro gave a small smile, both to herself and the little Grass type that had emerged. So her sense weren't completely dulled.

"Hello there." She said, sitting up straight. "You don't need to be as stiff as a Sudowoodo. I'm not gonna bite."
Her tail flicked, and she looked over her shoulder, seeing the flowers.
"I assume you saw my green fur." She turned back to face him, crimson eyes examining him. He seemed rather young. Younger than her, at least.
"I am Lunaro; have you ever heard of a Crystanigh?" Had the tales of these Pokemon spread? Hopefully they did; they were protectors to all Pokemon in every corner of the world.
Of course, maybe the little Treecko hadn't heard about them before.

Seeing that Lunaro seemed friendly enough, Bracken relaxed a little. "No, not really," he replied. Did whatever it was have something to do with how her fur changed colors? Was it supposed to be another type of transforming Pokemon...? Suddenly his thoughts came back to Crystal. Was she trying to play another trick on him again? Involuntarily, he looked back in the direction he had come from before shaking his head. What was he thinking? Crystal was probably still talking to that Glameow. He really needed to stop thinking about her, but after someone tricks you and laughs at how dumb you are, they're kinda hard to forget.

Gliz licked her paw of the sticky berry, not even caring to look over at the pokemon she was conversing with. "Yes, I'm fine. You know, us Glameow always land on our feet. Not to mention, I've fallen from higher. I was just... caught off guard. The branch was a bit more slippery than I anticipated," she explained. "I'm Gliz, by the way. Do you Zorua enjoy tricking every new comer to the forest? Not a very kind way to greet new neighbors, I would think." Finished cleaning her paw, she looked lazily at the other pokemon, licking her chops to get rid of some of the sticky juice.

Zorua brushed off the insult and said casually, "Just most pokemon in general. I don't care if pokemon don't like me. Why should I? I mean I will help people but I'm not going to put in any effort to change myself so pokemon like me." Her ears twitched when she heard some noise from where Bracken went. She turned her head slightly trying to pick up more of the sound. She looked back at Glitz and said, "Nice to meet you Glitz but, I'm going off to have some more fun." She grinned and dashed up a nearby tree. She scampered through the trees quietly to where she heard the noise from. She saw a Poochyena and Bracken talking and she decided to stay up there and listen in.

Lunaro nodded. "I see. The Chrystanigh were great Pokemon who protected our world. They could learn any type, and could control all aspects of life." She lifted a paw, and her dark fur rippled into an orange and red scheme.
A small ball of flame flickered to life, gently bobbing up and down in her paw. The sudden blob of heat swirled up her arm and into her other paw, which she had lifted. She snapped her paw closed, the fire dissipating in a tiny plume of smoke.
"Of course, with great power comes great responsibility. And a certain tyrant decided to take advantage of this gift the gods bestowed upon a select few 'mons. He was eventually killed off, but because of his sudden rise to power and greed, Arceus sentenced all Chrystanigh to their death."
Her crimson gaze seemed to go off somewhere, as if looking back in time.
"I was unfortunately caught in the war. I was the only Chrystanigh to escape, and was, by default, dubbed the leader of the group. I convinced Arceus to give Chrystanigh one more chance. If only I can find those who would be willing to learn..." She trailed away, thinking, her Fire type reverting back to Dark type without much thought.

Bracken opened his mouth to respond, but no words came out. Wow. Wow. Okay, that was cool! Well, apart from all the Crystanigh being put to death because of one guy. That was really harsh. But asides from that, the idea of Pokemon who could master any type and were the guardians of the world was awesome! Trying not to look too excited, the little Treecko skittered down the trunk of the tree and up to Lunaro.

"Heh, um... I'd be willing to, I guess," he said with a small smile.

Crystal's eyes widened as she saw the Poochyena's color change to a fiery read. She gave out a tiny gasp when a little fire ball appeared in her paw. I think I heard of something like the Chrystanigh... I think Mommy told me... She looked down again quickly changing into a Pichu in case they saw her. She was still a little in shock by what the Poochyena did and watched with wide eyes.

Lunaro's jaw dropped, and she stared at the little gecko incredulously.
"Wait, you're serious?" She asked, eyes wide. Someone was actually volunteering? Just like that?
"You do realize it's a lot of intense training, right?" Lunaro grimaced when she remembered all of that crazy work she had to go through trying to get to learn all of the types. And she still hadn't fully grasped their power.
"And don't you have any family around here?" Surely he wasn't living alone in these woods.

At the mention of family, reality caught back up to him. "Oh, er.." Bracken stuttered, looking down. "Well, my mom lives... somewhere... around here, and Thy- I mean, my brother and I were exploring a bit on our own. But we got separated and I got lost and then an Ekans attacked me and..." He sighed, not wanting to continue.

Lunaro blinked at him for a minute. The poor kid was lost in his own home? Oh geez.
The Poochyena gave him a small, yet warm smile. "Well, we could go look for them, if you'd like."
If the little guy would rather be with his family, that was fine. Unless he seriously wanted to stay. Lunaro wasn't going to argue; it was his life after all. And he wasn't restricted staying in the group forever. He could always visit family and friends at any time if he did choose to stay.

Crystal crawled down the tree forgetting she was still a Pichu. She walked towards the two of them a little and said shyly "Sorry for ease dropping but, do you think I could join too? Please." Her eyes lit up hopefully and she looked at the Poochyena. I feel like Mommy said something important about the Chrystanigh.... what was it...

Lunaro jumped a little, jerking her head towards the Pichu.
She almost forced herself to change to the rough exterior of a Ground type, but she calmed herself when the Electric Mouse asked to join.
She smiled at the little Pokemon as well. "I have a feeling you were listening in on a lot of our conversation. Have you heard about the Chrystanigh? The protectors of long ago?"
As if in a demonstration, the back along her fur rippled, expanding into feathery, night black wings were tipped with an ashy grey colour. She beat her wings, turning to check them before she looked back at the little mouse.

Crystal's eyes grew a little when the Poochyena transformed and grew wings. She giggled and nodded "I was listening in on most of it. I've heard of the Chrystanigh. I was told stories about them when I was little... I would love to join though... If I can..." Her voice trailed off and she lifted her head up a little to look at the sky. She shook her head a little and looked back at the Poochyena.

Bracken hesitated for a second, looking over to the Pichu for a second before replying. "...Okay. I'd like to at least make sure they're not worrying themselves to death about me. But... that doesn't mean I don't still want to join." He looked up and met Lunaro's gaze. "I can handle it. I know I can."

His heart beat hard and he felt nervousness rising in the pit of his stomach. This was a huge decision and, despite what he had told Lunaro, Bracken wasn't completely sure he was ready to face something like this. But if he backed down now, he'd never have this chance again. He clenched his fists. It would be hard, but he'd just have to push through. Then maybe... then maybe he'd finally give his family something to be proud of.

Damian stopped walking when he saw the Poochyena grow wings and fly. Uh... what the heck did I just see? he thought somewhat dumbstruck, ignoring Crystal and Bracken (who appeared to, presumably, be deciding on whether or not to join the Chrystanigh).

"Alright then, if you two think you would be willing to." Lunaro gave them a smile.
"Welcome to the Chrystani-" She stopped, her ears pricked as something approached. Her gaze swung to the Gallade, and the fur along her spine and back instinctively rose.
The Pichu and Treecko had been an exception; she knew she could've taken them on if they proved hostile. Not to mention, they just seemed curious at first.
This was a larger Pokemon, especially since Gallade were known for their hand-to-hand combat skills. Her tail fluffed up, and her wings flared, ready to use a Quick Attack if he proved aggressive.
She took a step forward, slightly standing in front of the two Pokemon next to her.

"And who would you be?" She asked, crimson eyes examining the newest, tall arrival.

Gliz watched as the Zorua left, admittedly at least a little curious about the pokemon. She didn't see a lot of them, and they were probably among the least annoying dog pokemon (ugh, she HATED Lillipups...) Not wanting to be a total weirdo, she decided it best not to follow. Besides, her fur had fluffed up a bit from the fall, so it needed a good lick.

As she was starting to pick up and move again, she heard voices in the distance. As per usual, her curiosity got the better of her. So while she was still far away, she scampered high up a tree. Stepping lightly, she walked as silently as only a cat could, finally finding herself hidden among leaves, looking down at a clearing. There was a Treeko, probably the poor thing that the Zorua had tricked earlier, and a Pichu... wait, no. By the look on it's face, she should be seeing sparks. That must be the Zorua. And... a Poochyena with wings? Maybe a Zoruark? No, a Zoruark was too big to disguise itself as such a small pokemon. Besides, she'd never heard of any illusion pokemon being able to do a trick like that.

Laying down on the branch, she crossed her front paws and cocked her head to the side, watching the Poochyena fluff up at some Gallade. Dogs, really. Putting her head down, she kept perfectly still and silent in her little hiding spot.
