No Support- Only because it gives you a warning before you release.

I love this idea! I see a lot of people saying they dont support this because "I dont make that mistake" but the idea is to help out the people who do, and if they dont want to use locks they wouldnt have to. I like this idea especially if I am mass releasing pokemon and I click the wrong one, I normally keep my shinies in seperate boxes and such, but it's still an inconvience to lose a regular pokemon you intended on keeping.

Title: Support

I'm actually really upset right now because I meant to release a non-shiny vulpix, but I had accidentally selected my shiny alolan ninetales. Very upsetting, and it had taken me nearly 200 eggs to hatch the male. While I know I should have put him in my battle team, like someone mention before, you only have so many spots for your teams, and I think it's a tad inconvenient.

Also- I play on mobile, and mistakes are a lot easier to be made.

Also, I know the storage boxes ask you if you're sure you want to release the Pokemon, but can we just admit that not everyone double checks after that to make sure they clicked the trash pokemon they want to release?

If anything, something could be implimented as a popup perhaps as a warning to tell the user that they're trying to release a legendary/event/shiny pokemon

Title: Support

I would totally support since most of the time I have duplicate Pokemon and I usually have to double check my self before I put one up for auction

Why don't you just turn on the safe mode? I'm pretty sure it eliminates the accidental releasing a little cause it gives you a notification asking to confirm release

support. while i use safe mode, safe mode isn't actually all that safe. messages pop up for so many things that you learn to just ignore them. i, personally, haven't screwed up yet, but its probably gonna happen at some point

I'm going to bump this idea up for it being a feature that should be implemented, as well as another alternative if People don't like the idea of "locking" Pokemon.

To those of you that say "No support, it gives you a warning." Then either:
a.) You haven't lost a really special Pokemon accidentally (how would you feel losing the site's first ever Shiny Mega Mewtwo Y?)
or b.) You don't use Pokeheroes on a small phone/screen.
Most of the time, people will release one or more Pokemon from the storage boxes page, and on mobile, those check mark boxes are REALLY SMALL. Anyone can make the mistake of tapping the wrong box and think it was the correct one, especially those of us with bad eyesight. I know you nay-sayers will say "It gives you a warning so it's your fault." But come on, I know even you guys would still use this feature for at least ONE Pokemon. It's an accident that happens constantly and there's no reason why it shouldn't be implemented. New users have probably abandoned the site for accidentally releasing a Pokemon, people who spent ages on a Shiny hunt to accidentally release it just gained some severe depression, and those Pokemon can't just come back like the mechanics of a shelter and someone else adopts it.

While I support the idea of preventing a Pokemon from being released by locking it, I have another alternative. I was thinking of maybe some sort of item to give to a Pokemon that prevents it from being released.
I was thinking "Everstone Locket" or something along those lines. Not only does it lock it (see what I did there?), but it prevents evolution to those that want to keep their Shiny Charmander young forever. Something small, sold in the shop for a decent price, and gives a use to the item slot for the Pokemon that you don't use to battle. Prevents evolution, releasing, auctioning, Wonder Trading, or putting up in the GTS.

Just a small feature or item that saves the happiness of many. No reason for this not to be implemented ASAP.

Support, I know it gets really frustrating, especially on mobile.
@MetalHeadKendra, your idea is awesome!

@MetalHeadKendra, you know, that is an excellent idea you've come up with, seriously!

Not only does the proposed item solve multiple problems, but it also creates a small cost to "locking" your Pokémon, since for one, you need to purchase this item for each Pokémon you want to lock, and for another, you no longer have the held item slot available to use for something else, like a sentimental/representative item, or even battle items (for the 3 people who still battle on this site xD).

Good brainstorming here. I sincerely hope this becomes a feature, especially since, as @Rebecca_Chespin mentioned, locking Pokémon is actually a feature in Pokémon GO, which is one of very few Pokémon games that allows you to release (or in this case, transfer) many Pokémon at once.

The feature just makes sense, particularly because we have cases like Shiny Mega Pokémon, extremely rare and valuable occurrences that are much more monumental here on Pokéheroes than they are in the mainline Pokémon games. Getting the stars to align so you can hatch a Pokémon that's both Shiny AND Mega-Powered easily makes them cherished Pokémon. It should not be this easy to lose such cherished Pokémon when, most times, you need to put an exceptional amount of time, effort and patience into getting one in the first place. And Shiny Mega Pokémon are just one of many examples here.

I fully, 100% support this. I can't tell you how many times I've accidentally released my 2000+ level shiny Umbreon (my first shiny I hatched myself) on mobile. Yes I do have safe mode on, but 9/10 I don't pay attention to those pop ups because they're so annoying. So I would absolutely love a lock feature.

I support this suggestion. I don't mind if we could lock individual Pokemon or a whole box. I just want an option to prevent me from losing valuable Pokemon. I'm always extra careful, but this would add another layer of relief.

Well you can always put them up as private trades to yourself but full support cause I want to lock my dex which is completed with my specific nature gender pokes that I don’t wanna trade. A mass lock would be nice no doubt.

Maybe make it so that when we view our storage boxes the locked pokes have 🔒 sign next to them like shinies have stars.
