Ok... I just gave GTS a casual visit, and a Meloetta(Pirouette) was set up there. And the sprite—the sprite was dancing! Then I tried to copy out the code to see if it was .gif or .png . It was .png, but the sprite was moving!

I use an iPad Mini 1

EDIT-: Moving Sprites-:

Meloetta (Pirouette)

Erm- there aren't any Pirouette form Meloettas set up on the GTS. Besides, a PNG can not possibly move- your eyes may just have been playing tricks on you.

EDIT: Yes, I am aware of APNGs- however, they aren't compatible with any browser except Mozilla and Safari, and I doubt the sprites on PH would be set up as APNGs.

...Could you at least show the copied link ^^'
.png doesn't move, though, and there's not a single Meleotta (Piroutte) in the GTS...

is the image, and the link, X

And @Cliff, I use safari. And I heard it happening with safari (or rather iPhone users) at the medal ralley by some users.

No, it's not an APNG- it's just a normal old image. Your eyes are just playing tricks on you.

Not really, for me, the sprite really moves. Oh, and Rotom Mow also moves.

Like teius said, it happens with Rotom Mow as well, with the sprite being:

I use Mozilla Firefox and both this and meloetta-p appear to move.

Considering most phones use a safari based browser by default, and both sprites move when I'm in Firefox, I would have to say that they are apngs. This means that for non-supportive browsers, they are normal images, and for those that support it they are animated.

I have zero clue why Riako would choose to use it for some of the sprites, especially the ones that aren't special like the one Rotom form orz

Yes, that rotom's moving for me too. And there was a thread (it died down..) and it had the same happenings, but only on the medal rally instead of GTS.

This is actually really strange- when I download the image itself and check its contents, it shows up as a normal PNG- however, what you all are describing exactly matches what an APNG is like.\

EDIT: Nor does it become animated when I view it with an APNG-compatible browser.

I just copy-pasted this thread into my firefox browser hooray for multiple browsers, and I can confirm that the sprites started moving.

What happens, in Chrome, is that only the first picture is used/shown, which also explains why copying the link (in Chrome) doesn't show any evidence of it being a .apng.

The only 'bug' I can think of, is that (if Riako also uses Chrome), he didn't know it was an animated sprite (or, if he uses FireFox, he didn't know Chrome would act in such a way)
