Hi there! I'm looking at breeding event pokémon however I think the information in the wiki is contradicting itself.

QuoteIf one of the Pokémon who is breeding is an Event Pokémon, there is a slim chance of breeding a Event Pokémon. The chance is increased if both of the parents are Event Pokémon, but it is not guaranteed.
If you put a female Disguised Exeggcute in the daycare, and a male Disguised Exeggcute, they have a higher chance in making a normal Exeggcute egg and have a lower chance in making a Disguised Exeggcute egg.

Sorry if I'm completely misunderstanding, but in the first part it's saying that 2 of the same event (male and female) have a higher chance of making an event egg, however in the second part it's saying there's a lower chance of making an event egg?

There is a bug thread for the Wiki here

Though your particular 'spelling error' was already reported, so I'm not quite sure if they'll do something about it this time.

That actually isn't exactly a misspelling or anything. It's probably just a bit confusing/hard to understand if you don't read carefully.

The first paragraph states that two Event Pokémon (here Disguised Exeggcute) would averagely give you more Event eggs than a mixed couple (Disguised Exeggcute + regular Exeggcute).
While the second paragraph however says that even if you have an Event Pokémon couple (male and female Disguised Exeggcute), the pair still would produce more regular Exeggcute eggs than Event eggs in total since the chances of breeding an Event egg are lower than breeding a regular egg.

But using the word 'lower' actually indicates that the chance lowers if there are 2 event pokémon. It's not a spelling error, but it is a grammatical/semantic error.

The way you're explaining it is not how it is written down in the wiki itself.

(Produce more normal eggs =/= produce less event eggs)

Hmm I see. I just needed some clarification is all. As long as 2 event pokémon have more of a chance to produce an event egg then that's fine. Some clarification in the wiki should be done, though, as it IS contradicting.

So I've looked through this entire thread and quite a few others, but I haven't found an answer yet. I've been hatching a bunch of Torchic, and I haven't found any with a mega bubble yet. I don't know if this is due to bad luck or not, so I was wondering if there was some requirement you had to meet before you can find mega evolution possible pokemon. Do I have to be a certain trainer level? Hatch 423 eggs and do some cartwheels? I'm pretty sure that my usual bad luck is the reason for me not finding any mega evolution possible pokemon, but I wanted to make sure before I start going on some Torchic hatching rampage that won't even do anything.

Also, is there a use for Relic Golds, Silvers, and Coppers beyond selling them for PD? I have a couple and I don't want to sell them if they're going to be needed for something else. I already accidentally sold a Star Piece, and now I found out that you need five of them for the Jirachi thing. That was a pretty big headdesk moment, so I'd like to avoid going through that again. >>;

Thanks for the assistence! ^^~

Lail: Normally it would be bad luck, but powerful Torchics can't be hatched/bred because they were part of an Event introducing Mega Pokemon. As far as I know, you could get Mega Blaziken only through that.

Actually, something similar has been asked in the ''Help'' section of the thread, but I'll answer your question.

You don't need to be a specific level to be able to hatch Pokemon with a Mega Bubble. Hatching a Pokemon - In this case, Torchic, will be completely random. :)

Sorry, just went back and edited my post. You guys were really fast with the responses! Anywho, it sounds like the two of you are contradicting each other. I have seen other pokemon mega evolved around the site, such as Ampharos, Gyarados, and Houndoom, so it seems that mega evolution has become widespread and available beyond the event. So that's what I was wondering. I suppose the Torchic was a bad example. >>;

My answer is for all other Pokemon as well.
All Pokemon which mega evolve in X and Y can mega evolve here.
For example, you could randomly hatch a Snover with a Mega Bubble, or a Riolu, and so on. :)

I thought so. I figured that I was just having bad luck, but I wanted to make sure. Thank you! ^^~

Adding onto that: Events that are based on Pokemon that are able to megaevolve (Spring Ampharos or Rokkyu), can also hatch with a Mega bubble and mega evolve :)

Actually, of the events, only the Spring Amparos can mega evolve. Rokyu can hatch with a mega bubble, but it can't mega evolve.

It also has a spot in the Pokedex, but I know we discussed over a sprite for it. I am not sure if it got uploaded, though. My stupid brain forgets so much D:
