Fighting a comrade || Superhero RP {Sign-up} / CLOSED
Forum-Index → Roleplay → RP Sign-up → Fighting a comrade || Superhero RP {Sign-up} / CLOSEDAnd my earlier point still stands no matter what. You cannot decide what other people's characters have done before the start of the RP to built your own character without even asking permission.
I like the idea of Trix encountering Derek an Daniel when they're off on a lunch break, seems like a good way to get the rp going again :3
I also changed Trix a bit older
You are terrible at socializing.
Thanks for rubbing it in x.x Um, so uhh, Sansan (SandeviRae) told me to sign up 'cause this roleplay's dying or something. Would it be alright if I created a character that's neither a loner nor a Squad One member? Like, wild card. Mainly because her powers ain't gonna be...stable. Also she's pretty young so she won't be a vigilante type, and mostly focuses keeps on her powers under control. Ummm, I'll just fill out the form x_x
I mostly plan to let her join the Squad, but after a lot of shizzam first. Would that be okay?
Name: Matilda Psyche Haywire
Alias: None for now. Later on, "Khao."
Age: 14
Gender: Female♀
Alliance: At first, unknown, but tends to lean towards the good side. Later on, Squad One.
Interests: Reading. She almost always carries around her bookbag with her. She enjoys learning new things, as well as constantly surfing the internet. Writing is one of her hobbies, and she tends to be found tapping away at her laptop at times, greatly engrossed in an idea.
Appearance: With eccentric electric blue hair and stormy blue eyes, Matilda definitely stands out. Her long hair is usually kept in check with a blinding white headband, and it is occasionally set in a ponytail. Her stormy orbs switch to a menacing purple when using her powers.
Matilda is often seen wearing worn out blue jeans and a black ruffled lace blouse, topping it with a silver cardigan. She either is seen with glossy black combat boots studded with silver diamonds or comfy black sneakers with white shoelaces.
Slightly shorter than most girls her age, Matilda tends to get underestimated due to her height. Many a bully has tried to pick on her, laughing at her thin and frail-looking frame. Her skin is a sickly pale color, caused by rarely being out in the sun. The lack of color in her skin contrasts greatly with her eye and hair color. Despite all this, Matilda exudes a mysterious strength that makes people think twice before messing with her. She moves with an easy grace that is unnerving for someone who always looks like she's sick.
Personality: Quiet and a nasty temper. Those words pretty much sum up Matilda. She's the quiet loner sitting in a corner, almost always perusing the pages of some book or another. Tending to blend in the shadows, sometimes Matilda can go unnoticed as long as she sticks to her silence. People do their best to avoid talking to her, since her dark eyes seem to convey a message of eternal suffering to anyone who looks at them. Not easily angered, Matilda will unleash the wrath of the entire world upon anyone who dares to aggravate her.
She is unswervingly loyal to those she cares for, but only to a certain extent. Matilda thinks in a logical and whimsical manner that causes people to think she is naive, when in fact she is actually quite smart. For the most part, she seems like a quiet unexceptional girl with a knack for getting into trouble, not really drawing attention to herself.
If she ever opens up to anyone, it will be revealed that she is quite sarcastic, both in all seriousity and in humor. She will stand up for anyone she feel is being wronged, tending to becoming very physical in doing so. However, she is not easy to converse with nor approach, becoming quite reclusive when someone attempts to do so.
Abilities/Super power:
→Energy manipulation:
Show
hidden content
Her main and hands down most dangerous
power. This enables Matilda to manipulate pretty much any energy
source. Running water? Done. Electricity? Bam. Fire? Been there,
done that. Heck, energy produced by a death? All for it.
This may seem seriously overpowered, but in Matilda's case, it's not. It takes so much energy to do this, often Matilda ends up seriously hurt when she uses this power. Using this by pure willpower damages Matilda severely to the point she is on the brink of death. However, when she gets emotional, this power draws on her emotions, making her a destructive force and not damaging her for the time being.
Matilda isn't very good with controlling this at first, only being able to manipulate fire without suffering serious/any injuries. This involves drawing on her own body heat and causing flames to shoot out of her fingertips. Doing anything major with this, like summoning extremely hot flames, will injure her, depending on how much power is used.
As she progresses in self-training, she will eventually learn how to use minimal power with the best results, thus being able to avoid severely damaging herself as much as possible. She also will eventually learn how to use her memories and emotions as unlimited energy sources, avoiding hurting herself in all ways possible, but this will happen later on.
Though in fact this DOES sound incredibly overpowered, I'd like to note this one little fact: a tired Matilda will not be able to use her powers to their full extent. Disregarding available energy sources, Matilda, if weakened (by pretty much anything including lack of sleep, hunger, etc.), will not be able to manipulate energy without damaging herself. I hope that's enough to make it not overpowered.

• Ability to manipulate any energy source
Basic:
--■ Energy blasts
--■ Energy conversion (Ex: body heat into fire)
Advanced:
--■ Energy absorption
--■ Able to create things using energy (Limited, molecular)
--■ Able to use energy to enhance physical abilities (Self-training)
→Psychic Abilities:
These are mostly passive, and Matilda manages to control these with more difficulty. Actually, at first, she is completely unaware she has these abilities. When she discovers these, Matilda will reduce use of her energy manipulation because it is easier to use her psychic abilities. Also, she cannot use both at the same time, for both require her full attention and concentration.
• Telepathy
This is a variety of psychic abilities Matilda will have. Though it looks like a lot (damn, this looks so overpowered it upsets me), I'm pretttyyyyyy sure most psychics have this. These abilities are mostly taken from the Sensitives in Skulduggery Pleasant, and the Powerlisting wiki.
Basic:
--■ Psychic Communication
--■ Mind Reading
--■ Telepathic Speaking
--■ Telempathy
Advanced:
--■ Illusion Manipulation
--■ Knowledge Projection
--■ Knowledge Replication
--■ Thought Manipulation
--■ Psionic Inundation
--■ Psychic Energy Manipulation (Combined with her skills in energy manipulation, this power is a force to be reckoned with.)
• Second Sight
Pretty sure this is self-explanatory. Unusually enough, when Matilda gains knowledge of her psychic abilities, this is the first one she completely masters, able to predict the future through sheer willpower.
• Clairvoyance
So basically ESP.
--■ Psychic Navigation
--■ Visual Linking
If it seems too OPed (I'm damn sure it is), then I'd like to prod you towards the direction of this roleplay thread in hopes of convincing you that Mattie is not OPed. Her powers aren't exactly stable and stuff, plus her psychic abilities don't manifest until later, so she's basically left with the power of a nuclear bomb that can also kill her. Yay.
History: Left at the doorsteps of a random orphanage in the outskirts of the city, Matilda never knew her parents. She grew up, a lonely child always with a book, getting shunned by the other children due to her eccentric appearance and whimsical opinions. Any attempts to bully her ended up with Matilda getting physical and the bully getting confined to their bed to heal their injuries. The orphanage's caretakers decided to leave her to her own devices as much as possible.
Matilda was eventually adopted by an equally eccentric couple who, much to her delight, shared her unusual hair color. She kept a low profile at schools, doing her best to keep out of all the drama. She excelled greatly in her studies, acquiring praise and respect from her superiors.
Mattie was barely seven when she first used her powers, by accident, of course. She hadn't been adopted yet then, and had been reading quietly in the corner of the orphanage's garden. A group of other children had come and begin to taunt her. In her anger, she set the whole garden on fire, also injuring many of the children. Fortunately, their caretaker quickly called the fire department. The building was unharmed, but the entire garden was burned to a crisp. The other children who had witnessed this were too terrified to speak to her or about the incident afterwards, resulting in the adults guessing they had been playing with matches.
Her newly found abilities both scared and piqued Matilda's interest. Often, she would sneak out of the orphanage to test them out in the nearby forest. To both her delight and horror, she quickly narrowed her strange powers to being ergokinesis, also more commonly known as energy manipulation. After nearly destroying an abandoned building during a trip to the city, Matilda immediately resolved to try and control her powers.
After some training out in the woods, Matilda finally traced a pattern between her sudden losses of control: she was always emotional. Realizing this, she isolated herself as far away as possible from everyone, practicing and honing her skills as best as she could. She learned to dismiss all the nasty remarks the other kids shot at her, and shoot back witty remarks to cool her temper. Mattie also learned immediately that using her powers were extremely exhausting and possibly fatal. Fire, she discovered, was the easiest form of energy she could manipulate, since she could control it without passing out for long periods of time.
When she was adopted, Matilda moved to the city with her foster parents, raising the risks of being discovered as one of the "gifted." Mattie lay low during middle school, all the while training her abilities. She maintained a good relationship with her foster parents, though it was always evident that she preferred being alone.
Extra information: Matilda is a carnivore, and she loathes veggies.

SandeviRae: I'll allow the age change this time since the RP hasn't gotten that far yet but in case this RP doesn't die, I'll say this to everyone: I don't like people randomly changing things about their character in the middle of the RP without a really good reason.
(I'm not mad or upset at you, rae. I just want to make that clear. I just don't want people to get the expression they can go changing their character however they please and whenever they want. :d)
Omnia: I admit it, I was skeptical about the powers at first since they do seems OP no matter how you look at it. However, I'm going to accept your character nevertheless. Just don't make her gain some huge power-ups right in the beginning and it should be alright. She seems like a really interesting character though. :3
You can go on and post in the RP thread anytime you wish.
I'm assuming people have enough common sense to subscribe to both of the threads so if you wanna get people's attention, post in this thread. I'm pretty sure the players will see it as they'd see a post in the RP thread.
That would be all. :3
Alias: Ruby

Alias: Queen of Hearts
Age: 27
Gender: Female
Alliance: Anti-Villain/Anti-Hero
Interests: She used to enjoy reading and dancing, but nowadays she doesn't really have any interests except seeking revenge against The Red Puppeteer.
Appearance: Morrigan pretty much looks like a taller (and curvier) version of Trix, but slightly more exotic looking. She has scarlet eyes, crimson lips, and waist length black hair, as well as unusually pale skin. She typically wears black and red, and never removes a diamond and silver ring on her left ring finger. Unless you compared Trix and Morrigan side-by-side, it is pretty difficult to see the resemblance between them.
Her "Queen of Hearts" outfit is a long black dress with silver trim and a silver cloak with a red inside. The cloak has a crimson clasp with a red stone embedded in it. She also wears a thorny silver ringlet with a ruby in the center of it.
Personality:
She has a bit of a temper, but majority of the time, she seems strangely calm. She usually conveys minimal emotion, and even that seems a bit staged.
Abilities/Super power:
-Ability nullification
If you are within 30 feet of her, your powers are at about 75% capacity
If you are within 20 feet of her, your powers are at about 50% capacity
If you are within 10 feet of her, your powers are at about 25% capacity
If you are within 5 feet of her, your powers are at about 10% capacity
If you are touching her at all, your powers are disabled
This also means that all powers that would affect an individual person would not work on her, though they would affect the people around her. For example, if someone had mind control, the people under the enemy's control would not be affected by her nullification, as long as the enemy is not within her range.
This ability is pretty selective until you get within 10 feet of her, and it does not affect her other abilities.
-Feeling Manipulation
Morrigan can basically adjust the production of the chemicals in your brain that cause you to feel feelings. This pretty much means that she can pretty much flick the "on and off switches" to your feelings, as well as adjust the sensitivity of these feelings, like changing the volume on a speaker.
History:
Morrigan is also known as Trix's crazy cousin, even though she isn't actually insane or anything. She and Trix were friends as children, but she eventually stopped visiting and they grew apart. Eventually, when Morrigan grew up, she went to visit Trix in the city. Neither one of them had met any of Squad One quite yet either, though both had discovered they had powers. One day, when shopping at a local mall with Trix, they were nearly mugged and Morrigan flipped out, basically turning the mugger's panic up to max. She proceeded to rampage around the mall by messing up everyone in her radius's brain chemicals and causing mass confusion. Eventually, several members of Squad One showed up, including a now deceased member called The Guardian (aka Emrick Mayfield). Morrigan and The Guardian wrestled for a while until he had her pinned

I'm not entirely sure what you mean by that. To me it sounds like Red Puppeteer's powers wouldn't work on her either and I can't have a character running around that would be so OP against the main villain. :d
Also, I'm going to regard her as a 'villain' even though that isn't the best word to describe her. This is purely just because I set some limits on certain types on characters on the first post. Now there's just room for additional Squad One members.
Poor Johnny would be so screwed with her though. :,D
Speaking of Johnny, Ray is back in action so I erased poor Greg from my last post. He doesn't get to be a hero after all. :p (Though now I don't have to alter my plans that much. xD)
Like if the red puppeteer wanted to, say, cause a bystander's blood to crystalize and spear her, he could do that. It just wouldn't affect her directly.
I kinda wanted to make a formidable opponent for the red puppeteer, but I'm also really bad at explaining things. I'm gonna change that too, I was just short on time so I pretty much just shoved a really bad explanation in there.
No wait this is also a really bad explanation
EDIT: I put a better explanation in my form.
