Adalwen's chuckle resounded within the whole compartment. His slytherin friends and he were joking around, jumping from one topic to the other. Every once in a while, Adalwen took out a candy from the huge pile they'd bought from the trolley witch and ate it. They were mostly talking about their summer exploits. As the conversation progressed, they began to take out and have some muggle-inspired snacks.
"So Ad, what are you gonna do?" The question was from Ricky Rowan, referring to the choice classes this year. Adalwen silently looked down, as if deep in thought. He reached for a snack and said, "for now... I'll take a potato chip... And eat it!!"

She leaned back in her seat with a laugh as one of her friends popped a Pepper Imp in their mouth and immediately began to have smoke pour out of their ears and nose. After she'd gotten on the train, 'Ri had made her way to a somewhat-cramped compartment where about five of her friends were already sitting. Eucalyptus had rather hyper at first, darting around like a Speed Charm had been used on her, but now the cat was curled up on the seat beside her owner, a soft, rumbly purr audible just below the chatter in the compartment. Down the hall a bit, out of the corner of her eye, the girl had seen a flash of red and black as someone presumably darted out into the aisle. She hadn't seen the person go back to where they had come from, so naturally, she was rather curious, and at a lull in the conversation, excused herself, asking another friend to watch over her cat. Her Muggle shoes clacking softly on the floor, she was quite used to moving with the swaying motion of the train, and therefore came upon the other compartment rather gracefully, or at least for someone standing up in a moving vehicle. Poking her head into where the three girls were located, 'Ri chirped, "Hi! What's goin' on?"

The brunette laughed at the admittedly comical occurrence. From down the hall, a ruckus suddenly ensued, as one of her friends had left the compartment to go to the restroom and Eucalyptus had slipped out. "'Oh, tosh!" someone cried as the furry silver creature darted down the hall and behind the girl herself. "'Ri, we have a bit of a kerfuffle here!" She spun around to see the feline running pellmell down the corridor and took off after her, yelling, "'Caly, come here, you git!"

Anthony sucked in a breath, standing hesitantly by the sliding door of the compartment. He had done the same thing last year, though it was all futile. Maybe she had left Hogwarts, or graduated, and simply did not tell him. Or maybe she was just avoiding him? He wouldn't blame her if that was the case. Regardless, Anthony stepped outside, looking around. He didn't just want to knock on other apartments, he was honestly hoping he would be lucky enough to bump into her in the halls.

The cat didn't even blink; she ran straight to Brooke, though still in slow motion, and gradually tumbled into her arms, seeming to lose interest in escaping and immediately starting to purr, though the noise sounded more like a high pitched cow, if anything. "Gah, thank you. I'm so sorry," she said, rubbing a hand on the back of her neck and quickly kneeling to pick up Eucalyptus. Scooping the small grey animal into her arms, 'Ri smiled sheepishly at the curly brown haired girl, then at Jules. "Hi, again. Thanks a ton. I'm sorry about 'Cal, she's just excited with all of the activity." As if on cue, the cat rubbed her cheek slowly against the girl's sweater, then repeated the motion.

"Oh, thanks! Almost two years; we got her from a shelter when she was 3 months old. Long-haired kittens are the fluffiest things," she beamed, shifting so Eucalyptus was supported by her right arm as she rubbed her behind the ears with her left hand. "Excuse me, I probably need to get her back into her cage. I'll see you at the castle!"

As Suvansh saw the prefects doing different jobs, he himself took on the duty to ensure everyone took a carriage and no one was left behind to walk alone. He spotted many of the people he had met and talked to the previous day and the very day. He greeted a few of them, but mostly focused on his duties, though he sneaked a moment or two to chat a bit once in a while.

Walking towards the carriages, 'Ri took a deep breath at the familiar sight of the deathly horses. They were majestic in her mind, but seeing them always reminded her of the day her life had changed, when Talon had slipped under the ice and never again surfaced. Stepping up into an empty carriage sure that friends would join her later and setting down Eucalyptus's carrier, she then slipped back out, glancing both ways to make sure no one was watching. She'd changed on the ride back, and was wearing her black and yellow robes. As the girl walked up beside one of the two hauntingly graceful creatures, it turned to her, as if greeting her with a sense of familiarity. Running a hand along its leathery wing as she walked, she then came around to its head, reaching up and gently stroking its face with a sad smile.
