After a while Magda took a deep breath and let it out slowly, not a sigh, just a controlled exhalation. "Andromeda, I have a question..." Her eyes were fixated outside the window, her expression held no clue as to her emotions, and her voice wasn't quite flat, but she was focused so as to not give off hints.

Andromeda looked up and over at her, her own face a mask. "Yeah, of course you can. I will answer honestly so long as I am comfortable," she answered, sitting up straighter.

"Back on the ship... What brought you to me? There were so many others who you could have helped before me..." Magda didn't sound angry at all, just curious. She then turned to look into Andromeda's eyes. She wanted to ask why she felt the way she did, but perhaps this answer would take care of that one as well.

"I don't know...sometimes I believe a higher power or some form of fate leads my magic, leads me. People I make deals with. It is different from random encounters or someone whispering my name in the woods. It happens. I feel possessed to find them and barter some deal. I did not feel that exact feeling with you. It was different. I can't explain how, just that it was different. I believe it means you are important in my life. Why else would my magic tug me towards you? Maybe it was to ensure you are were you are needed? Or maybe to ensure we meet? If I had to guess? I would say it is so that we can look out for each other. I would really like that..." Andromeda answered, honestly. She focused on Magda, feeling her cheeks flush towards the end.

So Andromeda felt at least a little bit the same? "I, I think I would like that too..." Magdalena's cheeks flushed a bit more until it was noticeable. "Andromeda," She paused, seemingly timid about what she was going to say next. "May I... May I put my arm around you again? It was, comforting..." Why did she feel so damned awkward?

"Oh! Yes please!" Andromeda nodded, eagerly. She tried to keep from appearing too excited but she couldn't help herself. Heart picking up for different reasons, she waited to lean into Magda again.

To say Magda was a little startled by Andromeda's enthusiasm wouldn't be an overstatement. She smiled slightly and chuckled as she reached over, her hand politely resting on Andromeda's arm.

The naturally ebony colored skinned woman leaned into her fair skinned companion. After a moment, she asked, "Is it okay if I rest my head on your shoulder?" Andromeda had tilted her head back, looking up at Magda with her warm chocolate colored eyes.

Magda's smile broadened and she nodded. "Of course, you are welcome to do that." She adjusted so her shoulder was a bit lower and easier to reach. Once Andromeda got herself settled she turned her head to look out the window once more.

Andromeda sighed happily, curled into the woman she'd bonded with so quickly. "Is it okay if I ask you questions? You are welcome to ask me some back, too."

Magdalena glanced down to Andromeda and chuckled. "Of course. I will do my best to answer your questions."

"What do you like to do? Your hobbies, your passions?" Andromeda asked, tracing the pattern of the stitching on the blanket.

Magda thought for a few moments before answering. "I like to carve and whittle... Mostly making useful things, like a whistle or a spoon... Sometimes something bigger, like a bowl, or a staff... As for passions? I have a passion for the battlefield... I know it sounds terrible, but..." She took a moment to breathe before continuing. "When you're in a shield line, and you're defending not only yourself, but your brothers and sisters beside you for the gods know how long, when your legs start to tremble, when you can feel your raging blood cool and peak..." Magda closed her eyes as she remembered those moments in battles long since fought and won. "It's like coming to the crest of a great hill..." A climb to get there, but once there it's like having broken through a mental and physical wall. In her eyes a flame burned brightly. The fire of a fighter.

"What did you fight for? Land? To protect your people from invaders?" Andromeda asked, watching the expressions on Magda's face. She could see how much it meant to her and imagined ths woman in a shield line. Andromeda has heard any whispered secrets and witnessed a great many things. Sworn to secrecy, trapped by her own magic, she had made deals with a number of mostly men in high places in the capital of the country. She only hoped that the knowledge she had learned and been made to forget wasn't against Magda's people.

"Mostly it was to protect my people from those who would have taken advantage of us and our land, so it was a combination of the two." Magda looked down at Andromeda part of her wondering why she had asked, another part figured it was that the woman hated fighting and was trying to see if she was a barbarian like the slavers knew she was. "I'm sorry, that must've sounded awful to say that my passion is killing people..." She cast her eyes away and back out the window into the night.

"Huh? What? No! No it is not! Because you did so for the right reason, if there is a right reason. They attacked you first. They did wrong. I assume you didn't take pleasure in causing them pain or torture. If they deserved it, I trust your judgement. You have shown me you know right from wrong. More then I can say for the people who owned me," Andromeda said, pulling back to look at Magda.

Magda smiled faintly and chuckled. "Thank you for thinking that way. I was honestly concerned what you would think of me after I said that..." She then realized how that sounded and a blush started to spread across her face as she looked back out the window.

Andromeda curled back into Magda, seeking comfort again. "I was raised among barbarians and thugs. Those who controlled us, dictated and punished us are truly monsters. They deserve death. I don't want to hurt people but they deserve death..."

Magda again changed her sights and looked down to Andromeda under her arm. "People who do that are most definitely monsters and do not deserve the breath they steal from others." She gently gave the woman a reassuring squeeze on her shoulder.

Andromeda nodded, looking outside. "...my mom was hurt...to punish me..." She whispered, trembling at the memory. She didn't understand what prompted her to share it but she wanted to suddenly lay out her whole life, pointing out the highs and lows to Magda and having her judge her. And hope that Magda judged her worthy.
