Gadian straightened, his cheeks tinted pink with embarrassment. “Yeah, of course.” He gritted the words out, trying to sound confident. In that moment, he realised that he wouldn’t be getting alone time for a while, and decided to start lowering his guard little by little.

Clearly not understanding, Gadian scratched his chin and chuckled nervously. “But I am the Gadian you know..?” He mumbled, ears pinned back as he tries to work out what Yung meant. Deciding that it wasn’t worth all the confused deliberation, he straightened his back and cleared his throat, looking away nervously.

Gadian hesitated, his eyebrows narrowed. He parted his jaws to speak but no words came out. With a sigh through gritted teeth, he gripped the handle of his axe and stood up. “Alright, I suppose you have a point.” He mumbled, scratching the back of his head with a weak, lop-sided grin.

He raised his head to look at Yung, ears flattened. His gaze looked uncharacteristically tired, the blue of his eyes dull with sleeplessness and worry. “Where... what do you plan on doing? I don’t think there’s much we can do.” He muttered, his voice low and quiet.

He cupped his cheek in his free hand, resting his elbow on his knee. “Do it to make friends...?” The word felt foreign on his tongue, his instinctual synonym was usually ‘ally’. An emotion flashed in his eyes as he moved his hand up to feel his eye slowly before lowering it. Gadian was clearly thinking hard, his stomach churning. “I just... I do it to make anyone who lives there happy, I mean, I have to protect them, right? I don’t know if you’d get it, but what I’m saying is that my job is never easy,” A different emotion flashed through his eyes again, one of a negative emotion, one that made him look fragile for a moment. He gritted his teeth, shaking the thought from his head. “Pretend I didn’t say anything, I need to get back there soon.”

He cleared his throat, tensing again. “I uh... used to do it to all the small creatures in my forest. I liked to make them feel welcome but... now it’s just become an instinct.” His voice ended in a nervous laughter, heat flushing into his ears. His hand jittered as he lowered it onto Yung’s head, twisting his head away into an anxious grimace.

By instinct, he raised a paw and went to pat Yung’s head, but hesitated and drew the paw back slowly. This isn’t the same as... don’t do that, it’s weird. He found himself thinking, twitching his nose as his thoughts poured through his head. “Yeah, I wonder.” He mumbled, though his tone suggested that he wasn’t paying as much attention as he probably should. His guard was very obviously down, though his muscles were tense by reflex, so his guard was as down as it could be.

The rabbit tilted his head, raising a hand as a small vine perked up from the ground. The vine followed his paw movements, extending and moving with the same motions as his arm. The vine gently touched the bubble, feeling it bounce back. “Weird.” Gadian mumbled, finding that the texture was rather unknown to him. He pinned his ears back, a confused look on his face. He twirled his finger and the vine retreated back into the dirt.

Gadian scratched beneath his ear, ignoring the warmth. “How old am I again...?” He muttered half under his breath, narrowing his eyes thoughtfully. He seemed really stumped by this, his ears twitching uncomfortably. “About 6200? I forget... I’ve seen a lot, but so little at the same time.” He finally grumbled, sighing and sitting back on his haunches.

The undertones of the comment seemed to fly over the rabbit’s head. “Yeah, they were pretty annoying at times, and I’d like to say in an endearing way, but maybe it’s just because they’re kids,” Gadian paused, his eyes glinting with thought as he turned and looked at Yung, not realising he didn’t really have a clue how old the Lucario was. “I mean, kids as in behaviour, I guess. I dunno, you know what I mean.” He stammered, scratching the side of his face as his gaze slid to the side anxiously.

Gadian barked with laughter. “You said it, not me.” He shrugged, lowering himself to the floor next to Yung. He grabbed the handle of his axe and moved it to his side, flicking one claw over the vines in a sort of subconscious restless fidget. His eyes trailed over the edge of the blade, stopping at the faint brown marks which undoubtedly were once red. He cleared his throat and slid the weapon to his side, fumbling with the handle to get it to stay still.

The white rabbit’s ears twitched, pulling down his hood to watch the Lucario blankly. His blue eyes sparkle with wonder, and he crack his knuckles, a thoughtful pout in his face. Letting out a short breath and approaching him. He puts a hand on his shoulder, looking down on the Pokemon with a small frown. “Yung,” He starts, his voice low and considerate. “What’s on your mind? You look troubled.” He mumbles, ears flattened.

Harper felt her breath catch in her throat. “A-actually, I wouldn’t recommend it.” She stammered a little too quickly, her hand immediately going to his shoulder, gripping him tightly but not enough to leave a mark. Her cheeks toughened as she gritted her teeth, brows furrowed. Harper wouldn’t call herself a reactionary person, but this moment appeared to be an exception.

Harper barked with laughter. “Die or hospital. I dunno, just don’t let it happen,” She shrugged, looking at his gesture and raising an eyebrow. “You’re not gonna try it, are you?” Her voice had incredulous amusement in it, doing well to hide her immediate concern. Her mind showed her an image of Val laying injured and her eyes clouded with fear for half a second.

The entire time, Xeraphina’s mouth hung open in an ‘o’. If her eyes were on show, her shocked horror would be incredibly obvious. A wolf just strode info the room, dropped raw meat, and then walked out. What. The. Hell. She couldn’t move her body at all, her eyes fixed on the meat. Was that Geira? She discovered that her mouth was painfully dry. She gulped and managed to process a single thought. WHY. The word was only audible in her head, but it felt so loud that she was sure everyone in this prison whatever could hear it to.

She stood up and looked at the meat, teeth clenched in disgust. She bent down to pick it up and carried it to the kitchen, laying it on the counter and the washing her hands. Why on earth had that wolf even decided to do that? If any culture wasn’t from her world, it didn’t make sense. She opened the fridge and grabbed a ready-made lasagna meal and tossed it in the microwave, feeling lightheaded. She wasn’t angry, she wasn’t sad, just very, very confused. That horrified expression had only just left her face when the microwave started to beep.

Oneiro coughed and turned on his talon-heel, beginning to pace up and down the clearing. “The trick to defeating them,” He started, his tone harsh. “You have to draw your foe to a state where they’re weak. This makes their mind vulnerable, and the curse executable. A red and black... magical presence floats out of their eyes, in a sorta smokey appearance, and then you can crush it in any way you want, with magic, force or ranged attacks..” The raven’s voice was suddenly cold again. He turned back around at the end of his pacing. “Start whenever, just don’t leave it too long. Talk amongst yourselves, I’ll be here to answer questions.” His eyes dropped to the ground and he sat on a log laying on the ground, having no light shine on him so you could see a faint rippling to his form, as if he wasn’t real. His edges seemed to teem with a sort of watery effect, his colours moving despite not actually moving.

Finch didn’t dare speak first, her head was completely empty of any thought. She looked at the group and waited for whoever to speak first. She definitely wasn’t a leader, more of a follower of whoever she liked most.

Oneiro’s gaze slid over to Hokori as he spoke, and then looked back towards Alaparos with that same nonchalant grin. “That’s a lot of words, I don’t think it would hurt to relax, like your friend said, right?” His tone was somewhere between threatening and persuasive, as if offering, or rather, forcing whatever he could give on Al. He turned on the heel of his talon and shrugged. “What could I possibly want that would affect you? I don’t get it.” His tone melted into neutrality, as he eyed the grass curving around his talons.

Oneiro’s gaze flickered for a moment, if you are observant, you would notice his pupils thinning to slits as his demeanour seemed to shift slightly. His eyes slid to the side as if thinking. He blinked a few times, his pupils expanding to their normal size as if nothing happened. He turned his back to Alaparos; then Oneiro turned his head to look over his shoulder. He lifted a hand and drew a sort of snake-like pattern with his claw in he air, a grin spreading across his face as he did so. He seemed to be inferring something without saying it, his eyes sharply looking at Al.

He turned his body back around, his gaze becoming apathetic and lighthearted again. “That isn’t the only reason, though. I think it’s wise to trust me, I dunno.” He hummed into the air, ruffling his feather-hair under his hat and then planting it squarely back onto his head.

Harper nodded a few times. “Oh, definitely. You have to work out whether you’re gonna put your foot through the roof and then aim for a spot where you won’t. And, of course, whether you’re gonna even make the jump.” She explained, doing small actions with her hands to represent her and the roofs.
