Hello everyone!
More and more pokémon are being discovered, some evolve, so don't. I also keep hearing whispers that even more have been hiding in and around Emera Town. Their appearance has eluded all of us, including Riako and the other staff members. I do believe these rumours are true, though. In an attempt to finally solve the mystery, we're turning to you, dear users. Help us put a ~~face~~ sprite to the mystery lurking in Emera.

As these are rumours, we don't actually know anything about them. No idea what they look like nor how they got here. We don't even know what to call it, which really makes for awkward conversations.

Maybe you guys have seen them? If you have, please tell us everything you know! What do the mysterious pokémon look like? Are they big? Small? Do they evolve? Is it something that doesn't evolve? We're drawing a total blank, so answer those questions however you like!

So. . . what exactly do you need to do? ~~I pretend to hear you thinking~~
Create your own event sprites!

Reward Time
As with all contests, there's something in it for everyone who joins. If you're one of the winners, not only is your sprite going to be part of a site-wide event distribution, you'll also get a shiny of that sprite as a prize!

If you join, but don't win, as always there'll be a consolation prize as a thank you for joining (:

Sprite Requirements
!! Your sprite must NOT have been published elsewhere, anywhere. Only new and original sprites are allowed !!
Sprite Size: The size of the canvas you use, should be 96 x 96 px . The sprite itself doesn't need to be that size, but please fill in the needed space with transparent pixels.
Sprite design: You are free to choose any (non-legendary) pokémon as a base for your sprite. Whether the pokémon has an evolution line or not, is also entirely up to you. However, the bigger it is, the more impressive it needs to be, so they're worth being released. But, most importantly, have fun!
Do not make a mega evolution of an existing line. We have a separate contest for that.
Obtaining and evolving: You are allowed to suggest a way to obtain* and/or evolve** your event-pokémon. This is decided upon separately and will not affect your event-submission. It's possible for your event to win, but still be obtained/evolved differently.
copyright: The sprite has to be done completely by you. You are not allowed to include (parts of) sprites from other artists, excluding official sprites, which can be used as a base. Previous sprites can also not be submitted. You are NOT allowed to publish your sprite anywhere during the contest and event time.

* example: "Collect 10 Ice Cream Cornets on Rumble Missions"
** example: Fill your Party with the Event Pokémon and 5 other Water Pokémon in order to make it evolve

How to enter
Please use the following form and send it through PM to CatLady. Put "Event Spriting Contest Entry" as the subject [without "]. Even if you have several entries, please don't change the title. I'll be able to see that you have several events (;

Your entry should look something like this [with your own sprites]

PokéDex Entries: Surfer Machop: Though small in stature, it is powerful enough to surf on huge waves with its surfboard.
Machotide: It's a well-trained surfer which likes to spend its whole day at the seaside.
Beachamp: This well-built Machamp is very popular among female Pokémon on the beach.
Event sprites:
-Egg sprite

-Normal line

-Shiny line

(Optional) Evolution method: Machotide evolves into Beachamp when Machotide and a Female Lopunny are both in your party.
(Optional) How to obtain this Event: ~~Win 500 Hangman~~

The amount of accepted user-made Events depends on the quality & quantity of the submissions. We cannot release 3 huge Event Distributions within one month, but we can obviously publish 3-4 minor Events in a month.
We'll pick the best submissions and create an individual Event Distribution based on the amount of winners.

Please submit your finished sprite(s) through PM only

Deadline
The deadline is January 6th, 23:59
The winners will be chosen by us, the staff, based on quality.

Note: due to Riako wanting to keep the sprites a secret as long as possible, the winners will only be revealed on the day their sprite will be released. This will cause some winners to know they've won earlier than others.
The consolation prize will only be distributed when the last winner is revealed.
If there is a long(er) period between the second-to-last and the last winner prizes may be distributed earlier [and the final winner will be notified by me and sworn to secrecy]

The Family Tree page shows everything as a pokémon, even if the Egg hasn't hatched yet.
Shiny pokémon get a star next to them in the Family Tree so others can see that's a shiny.

Eggs that haven't hatched yet, but will hatch as a shiny, will show up as a hatched pokémon with a star next to it in the Family Tree.

Edit - While the above happens, it seems to only work on "normal odds" shinies. I hatched a shiny Pichu from an Egg that showed up as non-shiny in the Family Tree, which I'm guessing is because of the Shiny Boost from the Fountain I currently have.
