Stumbling back, Neko clutched her hand in a fist.

"You're going to die,"

her voice wavered, even smaller than before.

"Please, just try. . . "

She almost lost it there. Almost.

"I need to h-help you."

She dropped to her knees, then realized he probably didn't trust her.

"My n-name is Neko, and I can use my quirk to h-heal you. I'm just a civilian caught in the updraft of this. . . battle. . . Just please come with me! I need to get you to a place where I have full view of the sky."

She was begging now. If this boy died, she would never forgive herself.

Neko hoped she hadn't been seen, but. . . She backed into the shadows, examining what happened. Her heart felt like it would climb out of her throat when the heroes almost let 'Tashii' go, and now it was almost back to normal. Luckily for her, it was nighttime, so her quirk was in full use. After all, moonbeams were strongest on a full moon. Something caught her eye, and she almost gasped again. Weaving a quick invisibility bubble, she stumbled across to the next alleyway over, and grabbed his arm.

||Dext the Tasmanian Tiger was running for his life. The h=thing chasing him was close on his tail, but he knew he could escape it. Sliding under the hole in the fence, he turned to watch it. A slim paw scrambled at the dirt, but it was too big to fit. Dext blew a big raspberry at it, and the paw retracted. Then wood flew everywhere as the thing burst through it, claws reaching. Dext cried out as the thing landed on him, then his big sister began washing his face with strokes of her tongue.
“Gotcha,” She gloated, her eyes shining.
“Gerroff me,” Dext grunted, shoving Elain to the ground. He grinned at her, swiping her nose with sheathed claws. She dodged, laughing.
“Are you two playing fair?” Grandma’s voice came out of the trees as she entered the light.
“Yes grandma,” The two children echoed in unison.
“Come back to the den, it’s getting late.”
The two children sulked, but they followed. Grandma was right. It was getting dark. Suddenly barks and woofs came from behind them.
“Pach, pack, kill, kill! Pack kill, kill kill!”
Without a word, Dext took off towards the den. No room for anything, no thoughts, no nothing. Scrambling into the den, something slammed into his back as Elain scooted in behind him. Grandma was last, panting hard.
“Children, get behind me!”
Dext frowned. “But Grandma, we’re safe now! This is just like all the other times. Dogs can’t get in here!”
Grandma just shook her head.”I have a feeling. When it opens, go through and don’t wait for me!”
“When what-” Elain was cut off as a black portal opened in the far wall.
What the- He was pushed through by Elain, onto a sandy beach. He looked behind him through the portal, to see dogs burst through the den. The portal closed as Grandma yelled, “GET BACK YOU SCOUNDRELS!”
Dext cried the next few nights. He was alone with just Elain, and Grandma was surely dead. But at least he was safe. For now.||

//Fennekin nodded his head reluctantly wondering what his trainer would do if she found out he was meeting with gangs. As he walked home on tired feet, a weight was heavy in his tail. Not even saying hi to his trainer, he slipped into bed and fell asleep.

Fenniken slammed the alarm clock with his paw, slipping out of bed ad taking out the bottle that the gang had given him. If he was going to join them, he needed to do this. He knew he wasn’t thinking clearly, but he couldn’t stop himself. Sneaking downstairs, he tiptoed to the gass stove. Flicking it on, he blew out the flame. He watched the clock on the stove.
One minute.
Two minutes.
Three minutes.
Four.
Five.
Six.
And he downed the bottle in one gulp. I bright light flashed, and he wavered, standing on two paws. Whipping out the stick from his tail, the friction lighting it, he held it to the stove. There was a sound like an explosion, and braxiken fled the burning house to his doom.\\

The wall collapsed, a slow-motion of crumbling down on top of the one person she needed most.

"NO!"

She lunged at the wall, hands reaching.

Then the wall was rebuilt.

Tashii was OK! Which was a good thing and a bad thing. But still. Neko fell face first in the street, still slightly behind Tashii but in plain view of the others. She felt glaring eyes on her, and looked up at the second person she had never thought to see again.

"It's you. . ."

And then she passed out.

Akuma gasped. It couldn't be! That face, those eyes, that hair, and skin color, all so familiar- But it was impossible. Her Neko was DEAD. DEAD AS A DOORNAIL. DEAD AND BURIED!! She was AT THE FUNERAL!

Akuma refused to admit it. She got to her hands and kneese, brushing the dirt out of her hair.

"What was that for? Why did you try to save the person you hate?"

Neko was utterly TERRIFIED. Like, UTTERLY AND COMPLETELY SO TERRIFIED SHE COULD ALMOST DIE. She was hiding in her ball, listening to the sounds of battle, when something compelled her to go take a peek. Dissipating the ball, she crept out into the open to watch, She was behind the unfamiliar person, presumable Tashii, and she gasped.

that quirk. . . I've seen it before! I-

Neko stepped up closer, broken and melting glass crunching beneath her foot. Her whole mind was focused on one thing. That quirk.

Demon paused, watching the fight.

Another completely unique quirk. Interesting. Maybe I WON’T tell them I’m a villain.

Leaving them to it, Demon backed off, summoning a katana, thinking about using the cloth wrapped around the hilt for an eyepatch once she took off her mask. Well, she tried to summon the katana. Pain like fire shot from her wrist to her entire body. She collapsed noiselessly, the pain not great enough for sound. Yet. Getting up and breathing hard, Demon took off her mask and crushed it in her fist. Akuma dropped the pieces onto the ground, then began looking for something to tie up her eye.

Ignoring the thin trickle of blood running down her cheek from her eye, Akuma raced away from the facility. Running through the streets, she headed towards where she remembered being last. Leaping up onto the rooftop, she surveyed the scene below. That weirdo was still there, and she was grinning.

"I don't know about backup. . ."

Akuma did not know this new person. Leaping down from the roof and landing soundlessly behind him, she gazed at him with an electric blue eye. The other was milky white. IT was likely she would never see out of it again, but she couldn't think about that now.

"I could be backup, if you like."

She grinned, her eye flashing red and the pupil shrinking down to a slit.

Akuma leaped back onto a roof, but stumbled as something pricked her neck. She woozily reached up to feel something long and smooth sticking out of her skin. Darkness closed in.

Much MUCH later, at the same time that the whole interaction below is happening

Akuma groaned, sitting up slowly and looking around her. She had obviously been here a while- Her eyes were adjusted already. She felt her neck; No mark at all.

"Damn, my head hurts. Wish I had some water,"

She growled under her breath. Then a voice from nowhere and everywhere,

"Compliance!"

A glass of water was pushed into her hand. Akuma froze. Then she experimented.

"Can I have some light?"

"Compliance!"

The light flicked on. Akuma frowned. She was in a four-poster bed, goose-down pillows and a comforter in place as they should be. It looked suspiciously like a hospital room, but Akuma wasn't sure.

"Where am I?"

Nothing. She tried again.

"I want to know where I am."

"Compliance! You are in a bed, in a room, in a building, on the ground."

"I want to know the exact coordinance of my position."

"Compliance! They are 12, 47, 90, 5."

Akuma gasped. Her internal map wasn't perfect, but it was pretty accurate. She swung her legs off the bed and stood up, walking to the door.

"Where are you going?"

"Nunya."

"Nunya?"

"Nunya business."

Silence. Akuma spun and crossed to the window. She held out her hand for a gun, and just then she realized she had a wristband on her left wrist. She tried to summon the gun again, and a shriek escaped her lips as the worst pain she had ever imagined wracked her body. It felt like years later when she got up from the floor.

"Guess I'll have to do it myself then,"

She said through gritted teeth. And then she smashed her head through the window.
