Echo perked up as he began to hear voices. He blinked curiously before making his way towards the sounds. There were some other pokemon in this forest, he hadn't ever really seen anyone this far out into he woods. The flame atop his head sparked happily for a moment and while he was distracted the stick he held in his hand caught fire. He gave a suprised yelp, dropping the stick and quickly smothering the flame with his hands.

With the small crisis averted the litwick began to approach the pokemon. He stopped behind the eevee, slightly mesmerized by the pokemon's ears and tail. "Hello!" He cheerily chirped, making sure to use one of his friendliest smiles. "My name's Echo, do you guys come out here often? I've never seen pokemon like you before you're super cool! We should be friends, can we be friends? We can build a super cool base out here!" The small ghost-type stated to ramble, spouting off every thought that was coming to his mind.

Echo was traveling across the forest floor, occasionally reaching down to pick up a small stick or stone that caught his eye before gently setting it back down. The ground beneath him softly illuminated by the green glow cast by his green flame. He liked looking for new colors or patterns on rocks, or finding funny shapes in the sticks. The litwick bent over and took a stick into his hands, careful to keep the small wood piece away from the top of his head. It looked like Ekans with all the bends, and he found he quite liked it so he kept the stick in his hand as he continued to wander the woods.

I'm going to be honest this post is all over the place but I'm leaving it here to help me remember and commit to actually working on the project. No specifics just a general word vomit.

Tl:dr - I'm planning a big personal project to analyze the social/political relationships between the various civilizations in the Old Republic era.

I love the Old Republic era of Star Wars and honestly I find it holds a lot more interesting content than the canon material. It's a shame really that many people don't know anything about this time period. As far as I can understand certain characters from the Old Republic are being made canon, but the average viewer wouldn't even know because it's only ever just been small cameos. Maybe if a name was mentioned with something the character had done. It's also somewhat frustrating because I cannot understand if the character's story still remains the same if the important figures in their life aren't canon yet. (Revan, for example, is said to be canon again but we haven't heard anything about Malak or Bastilla being brought into canon. If these two aren't canon then Revan isn't really Revan, right?)

I have a lot to say about the Old Republic because the lore and characters are interesting. There's just so much potential for all kinds of interesting stories to be told in this era. Unlike what we see from the more explored time periods (High Republic, Galactic Republic, Galactic Empire, ~~First Order ew~~), the Old Republic has more than one ruling power. The rebellions weren't established governments. The Confederacy of Independent Systems exists at one point, but they were only officially an opposing power for 4 years before being reabsorbed into the newly established Galactic Empire. The Old Republic is full of different governing bodies, but mostly they could be shuffled into three distinct territories.

The Republic and the Sith Empire are natural rivals and even with a "peace treaty" in place both sides seem to often test just how far they can go without breaking the treaty and reigniting the war. Then there's also the Hutts, and they're trying to reap as many benefits from this rivalry as they can. The Hutts are in an interesting predicament in my mind because both the Republic and the Empire are trying to gain the Hutts favor as the Hutt families obviously have a lot of funds, but also produce weapons and other resources meant specifically for warfare. Yet if push comes to shove both the Republic and the Empire won't hesitate to retaliate against the Hutts if they cannot be swayed.

The Old Republic is absolutely filled with conflict. Honestly just saying that there's only three major powers is a huge generalization. It's just me grouping all these different civilizations and organizations together based on if they are good, bad, or neutral, or if they side with the good, bad, or neutral. This Summer I'm planning to try and layout a deeper analysis of these three power bases with as much information as I can find. I probably won't get too far but obviously I won't stop once Summer is over. Once it's in an organized state I'll try and remember to share it here lol.

Man, now I'm re-inspired to start pushing through Taris again lol. I hadn't started kotor until this year and the mechanics are a little weird to get used to but it's been pretty interesting so far I suppose. Hoping things pick up though once I get off Taris, that planet feels like a maze to me and I keep getting turned around in the lower levels :p

Honestly I'm addicted to swtor. Don't know why, only a few class stories really keep me hooked the entire time and once you hit KotFE the storyline just becomes stupid and Bioware obviously starts picking favorites ~~(Lana, whom lost all her personality at this point to become a yes-woman and shoved in the player's face every 10 seconds)~~. Honestly though the stories aren't that bad really, most of the time their fine it's just the smaller things. And where Bioware drops the ball with the plot the dialogue can be lifesaving. Especially with the Imperial classes, in which your characters can just spew out sass and sarcasm as if Bioware had thought they were writing the smuggler's dialogue.

Good game. 8/10, would lament the state of the game's economy aboard the Imp fleet with Yesterday's Jawa playing on loop as I longingly stare at a 850,000,000 credit shirt. This game is my personal prison and I love it.

Habits were suprisingly easy to form, even if you weren't trying to. Calverus had learned that around the time he'd ended up finding some jank alarm and just decided to bring it home. Did he need it? Not really, but he wanted it. It was pretty jarring at first, waking up to some loud screech in his ears, but slowly he found his body would begin to wake up before the alarm even went off. And that's when he learned just how much he wanted the screaming box.

His eyes felt heavy, his body still trying wake up and find awareness. He could wake up before the alarm went off, but the real challenge came when trying to keep awake. Closing his eyes for even a second could risk his opportunity to fully enjoy his morning ritual. Any minute now. He absentmindedly pressed his lower lip inbetween his teeth as he slammed his eyes shut and clenched his fists in anticipation, because apparently his fog-ridden mind thought that would help with the noise. After a few moments of wondering when it was going to go off he began to question if he even woke up at the right time. Of course that's when the alarm began it's horrible wail, causing Calverus to jolt a little. His heart shivered in his chest, calming down from the scare when it happened.

Thunk! Right on time. He quickly placed his face against the pillow and pulled his blanket over his neck to disguise the shake of his shoulders rising with each stifled giggle. Once he had mostly gathered himself together he unearthed himself from his nightly cocoon. Despite having already been awake, getting up was a bit of a bother, and a yawn pushed it's way out of his mouth as he stretched out his limbs. The alarm was still screeching, the sound loud enough to probably deafen him if he left it on for too long. That didn't mean he was actually going to silence the alarm clock.

He propped an arm up against the rail of his bed, looking down at Faolan with the best 'I'm tired and grumpy so don't bother me' face he could pull off. It was pretty hard to keep up that look upon seeing Faolan's own moody face.

"Turn it off!" Calverus grumbled, hanging his free hand over the rail in a not so subtle attempt to smack his brother.

Kicking this thing off with some slight controversy maybe? Star Wars the Old Republic (for those who are unaware) is a MMO game designed by Bioware, taking place way before any of the movies, like 4,000 years roughly. It's awesome. 8 story classes, half on the side of the Republic, half on the side of the Sith Empire. You pick a class, pick a combat style (there used to be just 2 per class but with 7.0 I can have a smuggler wield a machine gun!), pick a race, pick a gender, design an atrocity and play where you can pick to do war crimes for those sweet sweet dark side points or let masses of criminals go free for light points apparently. Being entirely honest playing through a full light or dark run is dumb because some choices are just stupid. But that's a rant for another time because today I'm going to announce what I believe the "canon" character for each story class seems to be.

Bioware has left everything ambiguous about the story class characters so that the player can play whoever they want and it all makes sense (mostly), so there's no set gender, race or preferred route for these roles. So with that in mind this is just what I believe to be the most fitting type of character, all runs will be neutral so I'm not putting that down.

1. Jedi Knight
Male - Human
I'll admit I haven't played this one enough to feel like I can truly keep to this opinion, but from what I do know the Jedi Knight seems to be kind of a generic character, so a generic toon seems right. Also Bioware reveals some of their new content using a human, male Jedi Knight so that's probably influenced my decision.

2. Jedi Consular
Male - Mirialan
It was either this or a female miraluka, but honestly something about the male mirialan feels more right to me. They are both pretty in tune with the force but I think what swayed this in the end was just that I ended up playing through more of the story with my mirialan than my miraluka. Also I like the male voice better it sounds so narrate-y.

3. Republic Trooper
Female - Human
Okay sitting here I realize that unfortunately many of these may be humans, which is a shame because the other races feel so much more fun! Anyways, I think that the female is best because Jennifer Hale. Need I say more? Her voice is just perfect for this role, and if you've played a female Shepard on Mass Effect then you know what I mean. Human seems best for this just because of the original Havoc squad line up. Cyborg, mirialan, cathar, and zabrak all on the team with only one other human on the team (and of course he's in charge). And I really feel like human and zabrak fit best, but man... Fuse should be the only zabrak it just feels right.

4. Smuggler
Male - Human
We were all thinking it. This story was literally written to replicate Han Solo let's be honest, all smugglers are. They toss so many ladies in your path to romance, but nothing for the female (I've heard). I'm not going to spend more time explaining because once again, heavily Han Solo inspired.

5. Sith Warrior
Male - Sith Pureblood
The warrior comes from a high status family which gives your character a huge advantage in the Sith Academy. You learn incredibly early on that the more "pure" your blood is, the more important you are. So obviously a sith pureblood. Male because Mark Bazeley is the sith warrior. Also because male body type 3 for them muscles and intimidating stature.

6. Sith Inquisitor
Female - Twi'lek
You start as a slave, so uh... yeah. If you've ever seen the Star Wars movies you know. Female because Zash's ultimate plan. I literally cannot explore this in depth without spoiling and even if this game is 10 years old I still hate spoiling.

7. Imperial Agent
Female - Chiss
Okay, I think the popular opinion here is a male human, but they have lines in there that directly talk about you being a chiss if you pick that race. Also a chiss was literally their icon for a while. Female because you can't tell me that canonically the agent wasn't girl bossing her way across the galaxy with Kaliyo. ~~Also why can't my f!agent romance Kaliyo like... she's bi canonically and still even after Makeb she rejects you???~~

8. Bounty Hunter
Male - Human
Okay. Bounty Hunter could literally be anything it's feels pretty disconnected from the rest of the conflict strangely enough. I'm going with male because they push the Mako romance basically the entire game until like, the middle of act 3 where you can set Mako up with Torian. Also body type 3 again. Human because the bounty hunter could literally be anything and have the story make sense but knowing Bioware if they had to pick a canonical race they would pick human.

So that's that. But ignoring lines and the story here's a few I think would be fun to play!

(On Ord Mantell a Rep Trooper NPC gives you a quest hating on Cathar and I just think it would be funny)

I need a place to dump all my thoughts that aren't related to roleplays or characters maybe. This is probably going to end up as a collection of Star Wars rants with a few other thoughts sprinkled in here and there. I'll touch this up more once I've got more posts here.

Childish and volatile, Calverus isn't an easy one to be around. Simple conversations can quickly dissolve into violent arguments from just a few poor word choices. His nasty exterior unknowingly covers up his more sensitive nature. Perhaps a paragon of the nature vs nurture arguments Calverus is caught in a massive conflict between who he is by nature, and who those around him have forged him to be.

For all his efforts to try and push people away he still finds himself clinging to those few constant figures in his life. If their actions don't match up with his personal image of them he jumps to rash and antagonistic conclusions, always painting his companions in a power-hungry and selfish light. Even with this all in mind he is very possessive of his allies, and if he feels like he's been abandoned in any sense he begins to slip into his victimizing mindset.

Calverus never stops to think before he acts, lives his life simply reacting to the different obstacles thrown his way. His impulsive behavior tends to make his problems worse, but by the time he's able to calm down and look at his situation it's grown out of control. He insists on taking care of these problems by himself, and he won't accept help from others even when he's worked himself into another frenzy.

Like his brother, Calverus can be very blunt with his words and opinions. He won't hesitate to voice out his insulting comments when he thinks of them, though his affronting vocabulary is about as expansive as a child's. Cal doesn't care much for those he's hurt across his destructive path until he's caught in one of his more vulnerable moments. When his emotions are running too high and keep conflicting with eachother Calverus scurries into solitude where he feels safe to work out his guilts.

The more calm Calverus is at any given moment the more likely it is that small details of his former self pop-up. He'll act more childish, but in a sort of curious or harmless teasing kind of manner. He'll fawn over just about any creature (cats especially, they're his personal favorite animal!) and sticks extra close to Faolan, finding comfort in his brother (though Calverus might not ever admit that the two are related, or that he even cares at all). Cal still doesn't paint a picture of any sort of happiness while lie this, still frowning and acting a bit like a grump, but it's probably the best his mood will ever get.

Appearance
Calverus still appears to have quite a number of growing to do, still looking like a teenage boy. He's much shorter than his brother at a height of 5' 4". Perhaps the only sign that he even cares for his appearance comes from his hair, which he keeps dying a platinum blonde color. -

What Your Character Did Before the Experiment
He didn't really do much of anything productive, mostly just followed Faolan around for a bit.

Abilities
Calverus is able to link his blood with another person's for roughly 5 minutes. During this period of time any injuries Cal sustains in similarly reflected on the other. It's best if he uses this ability with somebody watching him, lest he gets carried away and dies from blood loss or something.

Personality: Perhaps had things been a little different Kilian might have found himself in the position of one of those researchers. He enjoys learning just for the sake of exploration and the joy that comes with seeing one's personal growth, and for a while he had considered finding a career that would allow him to just mess around and discover. He decided not to in the end, mostly due to his own worries that by taking this path he would be restricted in certain ways. His mind is filled with random facts that may not always pertain to the conversation at hand. He's a little eccentric, and tends to hyper focus on any task placed in front of him, making him a hard worker by nature. Rowanstep flicked his ear at Larkstar's announcement. It was a good idea to send out a patrol, they would certainly take what they could with leaf-bare coming up. The deputy considered volunteering to join the patrol, but slowly reconsidered. With Larkstar going out of camp it might be a good idea for him to stay and help oversee the completion of their camp. He gave a small smile at his leader's words as he leapt down from the Tall Tree. Larkstar's trust was something he worked hard to keep, it was how Rowanstep could tell he was doing his duties well. He followed behind the leader for a few steps. "I'll watch them." He said with a small huff of laughter. Any cat showing exhaustion would quickly find themselves the victim of Rowanstep's worrying nature until they took a nice and long nap. "Who knows, maybe by the time you come back the camp will look completed."

The brown tom gave another small laugh, flicking his tail. "Stay safe out there." He threw one last smile to his leader before looking around the clearing. Rowanstep looked over at the nursery his eyes brightening as he spotted Shattered'sky settled by the entrance. Quickly trotting to her side he sat down, wrapping his tail around his paws. "Good morning." He purred, looking at the queen. He tried his hardest to squash his fretting fatherly side, ignoring the irrational questions of 'what if' in his mind. "Did you have a good night, nothing woke you up, right?"

Rowanstep quickly blinked awake, the sound of Larkstar's call retrieving him from his land of dreams. The brown tom got up on his paws, allowing himself time for a small stretch before he trotted over towards the Tall Tree. Seating himself by the meeting point, he surveyed the clan. A small frown danced its way across his face, and Rowanstep fought to keep a somewhat neutral expression. The long nights of construction were starting to wear down on everyone, the lack of sleep affecting each cat in a different manner. Rowanstep himself was struggling to try and look awake, he was attempting to straighten up with each passing second and letting his lazily flicking tail curl up around his paws. Finishing his quick look over of the clan, the deputy let his attention settle onto Larkstar.

A brown tom with a faded tabby pattern around his paws. He has a lithe form, though he appears slightly larger due to the medium length of his fur.

Backstory (optional) - Rowanstep has always been a rather protective tom, even as a kit. He often took on the more responsible role with his littermates, being quite the mother hen. He's always tried to be a cat that others in the clan feel they can confide in, constantly working hard to earn their trust and confidence.
