How on earth do I get gems?? I’m confused on where and how to get them.

You find them through rumbling [buy Explorer Bag in the Item Shop] or in the Royal Tunnel [level 15]
They can also be found in Mystery Boxes or through the Treasure Hunt in the Game Center.

You can also get some through the Golden Slots on the 5 Coins per spin mode.
