DesertClan (Roleplay)
Forum-Index → Roleplay → DesertClan (Roleplay)Ashpelt yawned and decided to go back into the medicine den. He grabbed a small mouse for himself as he reentered the den. He then put the mouse next to his nest and sat down.
Hawkpool nodded and looked around. She do followed Duskwind silently and sniffed the trees.
Duskwind’s ears were pricked as the walked by the last of the two leg nests, the forest taking over once again. He pushed through a clump of bracken, leading the way to a small clearing with large stones littered throughout it. Duskwind leapt onto one of the stones. “ Stonetail, Shadowpelt, you guys can finish the last few tail lengths of the patrol, “ he mewed. He could almost see the tall Oak from where he stood, but didn’t want to return to camp just yet.
Hawkpool looked over to Duskwind "not going back to camp?" She mewed gently and watched as the two desertclan warriors went on with the patrol.
Duskwind sat down on the rock, hanging his front paws over the edge, “ Not unless you fancy weaving sticks and bracken into the camp walls for the rest of the day,” he meowed. “ I figure we could hold off on that, just for a little bit.”

Bramblekit looked at the entrance and poked his head into the den. He then saw Ashpelt sitting in his nest grooming his fur. "Ashpelt" he meowed gently and walked up to his father. He didn't want to hurt Ashpelt by tackling him like he always did.
Hawkpool nodded and tipped her head "so what are we going to do?" She mewled kindly.
Tigerstripe walked back into camp and saw Feathercloud. "Okay that's enough go get some rest, and I'm not giving you a choice. As your medicine cat I'm saying you need to rest...now" she said evenly and took he branch from the warrior.
Feathercloud sighed but accepted her fate. "Fine." She grumbled and flicked her tail, standing and stretching. "I'll go take a nap or something." She decided, moving towards the warriors den and shaking a few twigs out of her fur.
Duskwind tapped his tail gently on the rock. “ Whatever you like,” he meowed. “ We could hunt, try fishing again,” he suggested while looking off into the trees. “ or, perhaps there’s somewhere you’d like to see in Desertclan territory?”
Hawkpool thought for a moment "let's go fishing I could do it another lesson" she purred gently.
Tigerstripe sighed and shook her head. She flicked an ear at Feathercloud's attitude and put the branch into the camp wall. She then walked back into camp.
Duskwind smiled, " Excellent choice, " he mewed, leaping down from the rock. He landed lightly on his paws, and brushed his tail along Hawkpool's side as he walked past her. " Fishing by day is a little different, " he said as he lead the way into the trees.
Ashpelt nodded and purred as Dawnpelt sat next to him. He half closed his eyes as Dawnpelt groomed have fur. "When will you leave the medicine den?" Bramblekit asked quietly and went back over to his father. He sat next to Sunkit.
Hawkpool nodded and ran after Duskwind. "How so?" She asked quietly.
Duskwind meowed as they neared the riverbank, " Well, you can see a bit more clearly into the water. But, the fish could also see you. The sun casts your shadow onto the water, " he explained. He padded up to the river's edge, his paws sinking slightly into the moist ground. " The trick is to lay low, and watch where the light is casting...", he mewed, inspecting the water. He watched a trout swim slowly to the edge, unaware of Duskwind's presence. Swiftly, Duskwind hooked the fish out of the water with his claws, and pulled it to the river bank, before killing it with another blow.
Dawnpelt groomed Ashpelt, with one ear tilted to listen to the kits speak. " Tigerstripe might let him leave sooner than later, if he behaves, " she mewed in between licks.
Hawkpool nodded and looked at the fish Duskwind caught in admiration. She then looked into the water and waited patiently.
Tigerstripe then entered the medicine den and over heard the conversation. She purred "and if Ashpelt doesn't play fight with you two for a few days he'll be fully healed" she meowed gently, and placed some marigold in the stores.
Bramblekit looked up to Tigerstripe jumping slightly when the medicine cat entered the den.
Duskwind placed his fish aside and assumed his position at the river. After a few seconds of staring into the water, he found himself staring at Hawkpool instead, enjoying the focused look on her face.
Dawnpelt nudged Beamblekit gently, “ It’s alright, little one,” she purred softly. “ What’s the matter,” she asked, looking at him with concern.
"I-I'm not scared!" Bramblekit mewled defiantly and looked at the strange golden liquid was on an oak leaf. He licked it curiously and purred at the sweet flavor.
"It won't hurt them it just soothes throats when cats cough" Tigerstripe explained kindly, and went to Ashpelt to sniff at his wounds.
Hawkpool flashed a paw into the river and a trout flew out. She then tacked it and bit into it quickly. The fish then stopped struggling.
Sunkit poked her head out from behind Tigerstripe's paw, having ignored the honeycomb. " What is the white sticky stuff all over Ashpelt?, " she mewed. " He wouldn't tell me...," her tail curled and wagged as she looked up at Tigerstripe.
Duskwind meowed with excitement, " Look at that, you're already better than I am. " He padded over to where their fish lay on the river bank. " We might as well eat, morning patrol needs their energy?," he said, smirking.
Hawkpool nodded and purred "sure with a full river I'm sure we can find more for your clanmates" she purred kindly, and brushed past Duskwind's flank.
Dawnpelt watched curiously, " Don't bother her too much, Sunkit. Tigerstripe needs to work, " she meowed. Dawnpelt glanced outside of the medicine cat's den to note the position of the sun in the sky. The first patrol should be back soon..., she thought to herself, planning the rest of the day.
Duskwind purred in return, " Well, I'm sure the next hunting patrol can take care of my clan mates. The prey has been plentiful, as of late...," he said, crouching down to take a bite of his fish.
Bramblekit looked up from the honey comb and saved a bit for Sunkit. He then went over to Dawnpelt and looked out of the den. "Can I go on a patrol?" He squeaked almost sounding like his old self.
Hawkpool nodded and sat next to Duskwind. She then took a bite out of the fish she caught. "Won't Dawnpelt be wondering where we went?" She asked in between bites.
