(Please tell me if this has been discussed already)

So I think there should be some way to prevent access from Pokemon at our honey tree for times like when we're sleeping or at work. So players don't constantly get their super honey snatched while they're at work or asleep. Some players can't afford to have a plentiful supply of super honeys. (I have my only 1 on the tree right now and I would really like for it get snatched during the night.)

Maybe start selling repels at the market. The higher grade repels would give you bigger windows of protection. Like super repel could be 8 hours, the average time to work or sleep. And max repel could be 16 hours for those who have to go to work as soon as they wake up.
Sincerely, you're friendly neighborhood poke pirate.

No support whatsoever. That makes obtaining pokemon from the tree a lot easier

As long as the protection is something you have to somehow play the game to achieve, such as purchasing an item to get the protection effect, full support. It doesn't have to be cheap. If you're willing to invest the time into earning the item to give you the status, that's not really making anything too much easier. It's just making the Honeytree more viable as a hunting method. Why do I say this? Two reasons. One, you're still investing time into gaining the desired result. You're not sitting at your screen refreshing every few minutes to see if something you want is there or if you need to shoo something away, but you're theoretically investing a comparable amount of time into getting that protection effect. Either way, the time investment remains intact. Second, it's a buff. You're not going to be able to cancel this. Sure, you have protection, but your honey is just sitting there being useless until the buff wears off, and if you're not there to watch over it, tough cookies. Likewise, if you end up being available earlier and the buff is still in effect, oh well. Bottom line? This is not a cure-all or perfect solution. You're still going to have to be diligent and plan as best you can. As I've said, this is merely an idea to potentially make hunting at the Honeytree slightly more efficient.

Total side note - would be kind of awesome if this item would be made one of the rewards at the Golden Slot Machine. Perhaps this is too harsh, but a rarity that is roughly equivalent to the Rare Candy seems about right to me.
