Question on Mega-able Pokemon

So I'm going on a Mega-able/Shiny Squirtle breeding chain. I'm going to breed for both a Mega-able and a Shiny Squirtle (and possibly a Shiny Mega-able Squirtle if I get lucky) but I have a quick question on the breeding part.

What are the chances of obtaining a Mega-able Squirtle as opposed to a Shiny Squirtle (although I'm breeding for both). Am I more than likely going to get a mega-able before a shiny or vice-versa?

Ok So although your Chances of a Shiny Squirtle are 100% You get one in the end if you chain them but chaining has no affect on mega-ables. You could get a mega-able in your first egg or over 600 eggs for your mega-able.

If you're unlucky you'll get just the Shiny but you can just hatch Squritles for a mega-able without chaining them. So it's just all down to luck really.

If you're lucky you'll get a mega-able before the Shiny. If not (Like myself Haha) You won't. There's no excatly % on getting a mega-able. while Shiny you can increase and decrease when hunting/Not hunting

I think the chance of getting a Mega Pokemon is actually random, unlike with shiny Pokemon.

Actually it's not totally random. Nobody knows it exactly, but it's known that it gets higher as your Trainerlevel grows.

That can't be true. I'm level 71 and I /never/ had a random mega able until a few days ago. Not only that ALL my chains my first Mega-able hatched on over 300 Eggs or more

Houndoom was 366 eggs I beleive.
Swablu took 466 Eggs
And my Shiny Mega-aggron took over 600 Eggs.

Next time, please make a new thread, as this thread has already been moved to 'answered' ^^
When viewing the pokémon profile or the private storage boxes, you'll see a mega bubble if the pokémon has the special mega able power.
No, there's no way to tell if an egg is mega able.
