I have been searching for Larvitar for 4 days now, I probably did about 3 dozen + searches...

I haven't found an Egg, when I search does the grass reset and the egg move, or does the egg stay in the same patch of grass untill its found?

The egg will be in a different patch every time you search for an egg. It's basically a luck-based challenge.

Yes what I would reccomend is choose one spot and hope for the best there

How do you get the tall grass by any chance?

Im guessing by leveling right?

@Robbot12345 - You need an egg radar from item shop in order to access the tall grass and then the radar chips for finding eggs in tall grass.

Title: Resolute stone

How many times can you search for a legendary using a stone after you have found one already? I used a resolute stone and have found 1 egg. Will it let you just keep searching or do you have to use another stone???

One stone is one egg. If you want more eggs, you need more stones.
