You can raise your trainer level in a few ways, one is by adopting eggs and hatching them that gives you a little trainer points, another way is to interact with pokemon and eggs in the Union room. If you chain a pokemon with a pokeradar you can hatch a good amount of eggs. If you spend some time at the Game center you can get some points too. You can trade and earn points too.
