I did the golden slot on legend a little bit ago, and it landed with 3 cherries/fruit (whatever you want to call them) in a row, but nothing popped up saying I won x amount of game chips. Not sure if I /did/ get them or not, I'm pretty sure I didn't though.

Yes i also once won a gold box and it didnt show up i was on mobile that time and turned of the animations.

If you hit a row, you get a reward. Just because you don't get a pop-up doesn't mean you're missing out on rewards, so you don't need to worry.
