I've seen profiles with stuff underneath the "About Me" section and I'm wondering how it's done. I looked at the BBCode guide but don't understand how it's supposed to work, and the pages I have seen with this customization don't have a widget with a proper border like in the example, it's just stuff on the regular background. Could someone who is familiar with this please explain it for me? Also, does this have to be within the character limit for the About Me section, or how does that work? Thank you for any help. ♥


(Edit: I did search through the Help section for this but only went back to page 10 on the Answered section, since that's almost a year. My apologies if I missed it somehow.)

Basically, you put a spoiler at the end of your about me and then after that put what you want under your about me.

Here is an example:

[ spoiler]
If you want text here you can put it.
[/spoiler]
[ img]http://staticpokeheroes.com/img/items/nugget.png[/img]

If I hadn't put the spaces it would show a spoiler with the nugget being under the about me.

You forgot about the Center-tag. If you just put spoiler tags, the image will appear under it, but still in the blue box.

The 'outside About Me' code it
[center][spoiler][/center][/spoiler]

The order is important, as it's the 'wrongness' of the order, that causes the effect. If the code is 'correct', it won't be pushed outside the box.


[Also, the reason this can't be found in the Help-forum, is that this is also explained in the BBCode guide ;) ]

Thank you for the explanation, but in the example that guide gives, the content is in a bordered box with the title "Custom Widget". Is the image just outdated? Also, does this content count towards the character limit for the About Me section?

Yes, it does count. Because when you type it into your about me, it shows up in your about me. So it does take up characters. Unless I don’t know something, because I’m pretty sure it takes up characters.

@MishaBaby, the image in the example in the BBcode thread isn't outdated. The whole entire example is an image of a box that either -Max made himself or had someone make for him, so unless you do the same then you will not have any sort of box, but you can still have text and images. Such as my about me, where there is the gif and no box.

So what I'm saying is: box = user made, there is no box that automatically gets put under there
