Okay. Don't get me wrong, I love the new event, and a lot of people do too. But its shiny version is...boring.

The only thing that changes is the skin color into green, but that doesn't helps at all.

So, maybe instead of only changing the skin color into green, all the accessories could turn black like Dark Link's.

Pretty simple.

From a normal standpoint, this is a good idea. But no support.

It takes the spriters a long time to sprite. And they can't just go in and change the already-existing sprite into something else. Plus, they'd have to change the sprites of already-existing shinies (hypothetically, I'm not sure if there's a shiny OS.) Plus, shiny Pokémon events re-color the event to make it a shiny of the original Pokémon, and this is technically a Marowak/Cubone cosplaying as Link, so naturally the shiny would have a green tint with no other change.

It is a nice idea, but I don't support it. As -tomato- said, spriting takes a very long time, and they can't just go and edit the color.
Tomato summarized it well, I can't find anything else to say-
I never change this

1. Honestly, I don't think they should change anything besides the colors. Heck, just change the skin and weapon colors for less stuff to do.

2. But is it just a cosplay though? The event page said that they have sneaked through the cargo ship.

Spriting may or may not take a long time. It depends on what you sprite, and editing a color is literally one of the easiest things you can do on a sprite. They can go in and edit a color if they want, but the question is more so, will they?

Personally, I'd like to see something like this.

On the first stage, the wooden handle of the sword turns silver. Navi turns yellow like the fairy that accompanies you in Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass. The boots turn blue, like when Link wears the Zora garb.

The 2nd stage - the sword handle turns purply blue and the rest of the sword gets a blue-ish tint - like the Master Sword. Both the hat and the boots are now the blue color like the Zora garb.

I realize that with kid link / adult link here, these are likely based off of LoZ: Ocarina of Time. So this would make sense, to an extent, because when Link is an adult in the game, he gets the Master Sword, for one. That and he also gets the Zora garb.

For the kid stage it was harder to come up with something that made sense, without having to change the body color. So that's why I changed Navi's color to be like the one from LoZ Phantom Hourglass - it's still technically a fairy that accompanies link. I just changed the sword's color because I needed something else to change - basically the same story for the boots.

But yeah, that's just something I'd like. I don't mind the current Shiny that much - to me it looks like the Cubone/Marowak just put on Link's green tunic.

I love seeing people claiming that spriting takes a long time. Depending on the sprite, it does.
However, we're talking a simple re-color, here. Those take minutes, if even that.

Updating the sprites, on-site, also shouldn't take much effort at all. Especially for the shiny sprites. I'm pretty sure there's only 4 places on the database that would need to get updated with the new files. Then it's just a matter of the users' browsers clearing the cache to update to the new image.

All in all, this change should take, if Riako and the spriters are online at the same time and they decided to do it, 20 minutes. [Unless there's a lot more that I don't realize, such as a potentially really messy backlog of code that might make this harder to do]

Oh, wow. Such a long time. -gasp-

Quotethis is technically a Marowak/Cubone cosplaying as Link

Yes, but the shiny could be changed to match dark link, as was already suggested. Or one of the few other outfits that Link wears.

It's not a costume (unlike the Teddiursa thing was), so changing the color of the outfit shouldn't have any issues. Whether it's cosplay or not, there are other colored costumes for Link.

Red
Blue
Purple

Black (Not exactly the same as the shadow link, but there's a gray/black version in the smash brothers games)

Or it can be based on non-tunic designs that he wears (just transfer the design to the tunic) such as the starter outfits from wind waker.

I mean, there's a lot of options other than the very minimum changes between the normal and shiny sprites for this event on here.

Heck, even something subtle such as making the outfit more bold/washed out would be preferred to what is currently there. This could be a reference to how some games have the tunic a more faded green while others have it a more vivid one. It's different from game to game and there's quite the range to choose from.

Considering we've had mega sprites released and updated to better/more accurate versions, why can't we do the same thing for the event shiny?

The sprite is meant to stay Link, while your suggestion is literally making a totally new event. As clear, no support. Think about suggesting event ideas to the spriters, instead of posting it under "New Suggestions"?

"Staying Link" is not a very good point. Thats like not giving Tom Nook a shiny form because you wan't it to "Stay as Tom Nook." In fact, Tom Nook is also a crossover event and his shiny form is not connected in any way to the cannon Tom Nook.

You can argue that shiny Bibarel has a similiar color, but its not the SAME color. Shiny Bibarel is golden while Tom Nook is orange. Plus, the skirt thing also changed from blue to green.

So changing the Link Cubone/Marowak into having Dark Link's clothing would not only be creative, but would also fit under the "Link" category since Dark Link is a counterpart of Link.

Support!

As previously mentioned, it's not very hard to recolour Pokémon. Furthermore, a lot of Events are normal Pokémon wearing clothes (even if they aren't crossovers). One example is Santa Birb, whose clothes turn blue in the shiny. By that logic, you could argue that it wouldn't be like Santa to wear blue clothes

I support this uwu.

And I see that there has been people who had already mention that it doesn't really take that much time on recoloring the sprites.
